Nurse just had his best season of the year, I think if you put him next to Petry (I think they played on the same team once), that pairing would be insane. Sadly, that's what Edmonton should be doing this offseason. Finding a Petry to play with Nurse.

I think Nurse has a real good shot at playing Top 2 minutes in a couple years, his decision making is getting better, he skates really well, can play tons of minutes, jumps into the play often. As an Oilers fan, as much as I like Drouin, I'd keep Nurse although it'd be hard to say no to that. I only say that because if Drouin isn't scoring, he doesn't bring much value to the team. Nurse plays physical, has a nasty side, and is already liked in the dressing room. Too many intangibles to trade.

Habs would be all over this. I don't think Edmonton should be trading Nurse though.

Nurse and Draisaitl are McDavid's best friends. Not a good idea to trade either - even if you win the trade on paper.

No way in hell Karlsson signs with Montreal, He plans on signing with an American team from what NHL insiders are saying.

From our history with UFAs what makes you think the Habs have a shot with Karlsson? Plus Petry has a 15 team no trade list and I would assume his old dumpster fire of a team would be on it.

Well, if you read the description, i said it was unrealistic. So nothing makes me think it will happen, quite the opposite. If i am edmonton, i would love a d pair of petry and nurse... But i agree petry would be unlikely to waive. The only thing my exercice is demonstrating, is that it would be an interesting avenue to sign a top rd as a ufa and trade petry at his highest value possible. Its a creative avenue to explore and would allow us to get a top 10 draft pick and therefore solidy the current roster but also making us stronger in the future.
