Sorry had to, I know most won't know the quote but it's ok.
The Blues could use some fresh faces for sure though

Well he’s going to be Team Canada’s goalie for the Olympics and just had better analytics than all but 2 goalies in the league this year.

Dvorsky at 2C is where every Blue fan projects him to be. You also forgot about Knies’ buddy Snuggerud, in his prime he has the potential to be a 40 G guy. Bolduc has been steady, Dean is a scrappy player, and Stenberg/Lindstein aren’t here yet. Look at all the contracts coming off the books for STL in 2-4 years. No more Hayes, Krug, Faulk, Saad, Schenn's close to expiring at that point. STL will get a decent player in this years draft too. Their future is miles better than Toronto’s, that’s for sure. OTT, MTL, BUF, DET will be better than the Leafs, TB, FLA, and BOS aren’t going away either.</div></div>
I'd rather a bad few years then be back then be in first round exit purgatory like the Leafs paying over half of their cap on 5 players.

Let's just hit all these responses in one go
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bee</b></div><div>You know parayko isn't that crazy good I could've signed a better defenseman in FA but had to trade Marner.</div></div>
Good luck signing a 1RD for 6.5mil. He wasn't good the last few years because of back injuries. He single-handedly carried this horrible Blues defense this year. He's a great defensive d-man that shuts down the opponents top players
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Subbanator7667</b></div><div>I understand he can't be easily replaced and I understand Marner isn't the piece they'd be looking for if they did move on from him.
But iv also been told that he's more valuable than Marner, delusional, that he's a a top pairing RHD, he's not and that Marner isn't needed, every team needs a star offensive forward.
In my mind the Blues will always be a mid level team because of this. They thought he was going to step up with Petro gone and found out he's really a #4 on a contender and not an actual top pairing dman. Now they're going to be stuck in the middle with no real way out unless they tear it down, which they won't do because Thomas and Kyrou is there</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Subbanator7667</b></div><div>I hate to break it to you but Parayko is one of the worst analytical dmen in the league and has made 'worst contract list' the past like 3 years. I don't think he's as bad as the analytics would tell you but if he's your top guy your team isn't going to be good.
Also don't how you think they're going to be actual cup contenders anytime soon. Dvorsky is a good prospect but likely ends up being a 2C at most, every other prospect doesn't have the ceiling to make them contenders and their defense is all older players. They have holes everywhere and players with age gaps that won't work together.
Maybe they make the playoffs for the next couple years but Anaheim will pass them soon, Arizona has a brighter future, not even counting the teams that are already better than them and likely stay that way. Then there's like 5 teams in the east with a better looking future than them.
When they moved of from ROR and Petro they needed a full year down, now they'll just be stuck in the middle and go as far as Thomas takes them</div></div>
No disrespect, but everything you said was incorrect. Parayko is a top RD, no matter what the analytics say because they don't incorporate how bad his partner always is. It also doesn't factor in the nagging back injuries he had for a few years. Finally when fully healthy this year, he was an excellent shut down guy all while doing it with Leddy as a partner. Plus, why is everyone trying to trade for him to put him on the top pairing? Because he is a 1RD at a good contract of 6.5 mil, something you cannot find in FA.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bee</b></div><div>The blues trade is fair.
Blues get a top five playmaker in the league extended and the blues also get a future 20 - 30 goal guy in Robertson and get liljegren that has potential but could become a good defenseman for the blues also get a fast fourth line forward that's only like 25 and a young defenseman in Timmons decent offensively</div></div>
If you read my initial response, nothing about this trade is fair for the Blues. This offer doesn't get you Parayko and Binner without the retention. Where is the retention payment at least? And hate to break it to you, Gregor is an AHL callup, Timmons is mid and probably a bottom pairing D or 7th d at this point, and Robertson may get 20-30 goals in the AHL because he's small. A bunch of mid isn't a good offer. If you think it is, that is just pure delusional thinking

Bolduc won't be playing 4th line minutes. He had four goals and two posts the last nine games. He will be up. They also love Dean and want to season him now. I don't love Kessel and hopefully a new coach agrees with me, but he played top 4 the last 20-ish games.

It's sad Binny is the absolute hero of the season along with Parayko, and almost no one outside STL has noticed.
But I would say this team has a split heart. I think there's a divide in the room. And there's definitely no coach to lead them out of it. The results are better under Bannister, but that's in spite of him. The first one out has to be Krug. And then Schenn if anyone is desperate enough to take him. Thomas should be the C and needs to be the C.

We're so weird. Only the Blues could dominate the 1st and 3rd and suffer a humiliating shutout loss at home. No offense to Blackwood, he was great, but this Blues team simply will not take a gift. It's insane. Every time we are rolling along and we face a team that is nosediving, we resurrect their season and stab ours in the back. Somehow.
Of course now they'll win out and miss the playoffs by a point...

New Jersey is the only team I can see doing that. We are kind of in no mans land right now. If all defense are taken I don’t think we take Jiricek at 16. Id rather take a forward and grab 2 defenseman in the 2nd round

I would say we do the following.
2024 Offseason
Draft: RD Carter Yakemchuck

Trade: Buchnevich (1st + prospect)
Neighbours - Thomas - Kyrou

Hofer
2025 Offseason

Sign: Gavrikov (3 years - time for when Schaefer is ready)
Acquire: Brady Tkachuk for Bolduc + 2026 1st + 2027 2nd + another prospect

- As wildly stupid as it is, Kyrou and Thomas remain suspended for no reason whatsoever. Until further notice they are ineligible.
- Thomas is a C, not a RW. And he's an easily superior C to Suzuki and Berard, who is nowhere near good enough to make this team as a C.
- Your best Blues bets are probably Binnington, Parayko and Neighbours.

In 2024/25 I could see something like
Buchnevich - Thomas - Kyrou
Neighbours - Stephenson - Snuggerud
Dvorsky on 3rd line C or W and when he’s ready for 2C in 2025/26 or 2026/27 season, then Stephenson would slide to 3C.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JMSTL2019</b></div><div>I agree with just about every point. Neighbours is playing like a true Blue, he has a great future ahead of him. Wouldn’t mind testing Bolduc-Thomas-Snug next year at some point. Doug has to make trading Leddy priority #1 and putting Kyrou on the block #2. There’s no excuse for this constant lack of effort attitude anymore, you’re almost 26 with a big boy contract now. WAKE UP JORDAN. I would like to think Scotty P is sticking around next year, he has to play a certain number of games for STL to retain his RFA rights. That’s the only reason he’s likely playing every game the rest of the year. Scandella, Kappy, Blais, and Alexandrov are as good as gone.</div></div>
I wouldn't mind seeing that line at some point this year. Idk how far away Snugg is from being an impact player, probably two years? Again, no clue. Big picture assuming no major roster changes on the forward front, but id imagine the future to look something like,.. 89/18/25 + 63/76/Snugg + 10/12/20 + current 4th line. Thats a lot of youth, but id take that group over this years. Again, a lot rides of snugg. Agreed, parting with leddy needs to be priority. 55 deserves a lockdown partner. 47/72 + a new dmen w 55 and then id be fine with 48/51 assuming we splurged for a true dmen. that d core would be tolerable. that lineup would be formidable.

Dude, they change the lineup during a win streak all the time. It's not soccer, where games are often a week apart. Meanwhile, Dean has now sat on his butt for a week. It's a reasonable question, nothing weird about it.
