OTT probably decline, Fabbro is not that good
Wow wow wow, this is horrible for New Jersey. How did you value that trade ? Nothing interesting going to NJ, they aren't giving anything valuable for that package
No need of Nino, no need of Borowiecki, so Lankinen vs maybe a 4th but that's it</div></div>
Nashville doesn’t want ceci and will want a better return for Ekholm
Who cares about the Vegas trade
Fabbro trade take out the 3rd
Agree with the New Jersey trade. That’s horrible for New Jersey

Ceci is a dump for Nashville. We had no need for ceci. If you want Ekholm a 23 1st is a must and a good prospect and a dump to make the salary work

So let me get this right. Nashville takes back a dump in ceci and takes a underwhelming young player that has a 3 million dollar cap hit AND we retain on ekholm and all we get back is a 1st from next years draft. This is terrible for Nashville.

Preds Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuckLuck_77</b></div><div>Why do I get the feeling Nashville fans are excited to move on from Ekholm? Has he not been good this year? Or is it just the fact that you guys want Poile to finally move into a rebuild?</div></div>
We have 3 highly paid, good LD. We just acquired McD, and already have Josi. Ekholm doesn't have trade protection. We need RD & cap assistance going forward which makes Ekholm the most logical candidate to move.
The proposal here would give us the pieces needed to avoid a rebuild imo. A vet RD, and quality young RD, a 1st and a 3rd to acquire a couple more quality prospects. Ekholm makes more of an immediate impact now for LA and these pieces impact NSH positively starting as early as next season. This would balance out our backend leaving only a couple issues in the forward core to handle (top 6 C mostly since we have what should be a couple top 6 wingers in the minors).
We're having a very down year but can easily use that to our advantage with a quality trade like this as well as good draft position in a very deep '23 draft. It's not necessarily excitement to move on but more of this is the glaringly obvious best choice to move and receive a quality return like the one proposed here.

We want to rebuild. Initially, we were looking forward to the McDonagh-Ekholm pairing, but they were a trainwreck together. Once the two of them were split up Ekholm was his old self again.

A different take
Jeannot isn’t for trade but if he was that wouldn’t do it. While Engvall could take Jeannots current roster spot as a replacement, Engvall doesn’t have the ceiling that Jeannot does. Nashville doesn’t need any more rhd prospects as we have 3 nhl grade rhd that are 25 or younger. The trade just doesn’t meet our needs. Jeannot is a pretty rare breed of power, aggression, and scoring touch.

Like <a href="/users/JOFA" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@JOFA</a> said, if they're trading Forsberg it's likely for futures. Don't see Fabbro going anywhere, Klingberg isn't of interest to NSH regardless of if they're contending or not, and Gurianov is kind of redundant for NSH, with guys like Jeannot, Kunin, Trenin.

I'd take out Fabbro, Klingberg, & Gurianov, then start fresh.

Don't see NSH considering this. They're getting older and more expensive here. You could argue Holl provides more value than Myers does this season, but long term the younger player with more room to grow is the better bet. Don't see Trenin being available - there isn't much reason to mess with the Herd line.
