Petey to MTL

Patrick Roy by the time he was traded had 2 cups, 2 conn smyths, 3 vezinas, 3 first teams, 2 second teams, Calder, plus few Jennings’s. In 9 years with the Canadiens. I don’t see how petterrson compares

That’s a bit bold. Patrick Roy Chris Pronger Mats Sundin Joe thorthon and St. Louis have all been traded since 99s was dealt in 1988.

3-way trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Moss_Bucket</b></div><div>The only high value future Montreal loses here is the 2025 2nd. 3rds and 4thd are typically viewed as mid value and the prospect being offered is seen as around the B grade range.</div></div>
Would it not be cheaper to lose Ylonen to waivers and buy out armia next season. Instead of 3 draft picks and a “B” prospect

Lets shake this thing UP
Habs are absolute no with dach and two ones going for a 30+ winger. Hughes been collecting players under 25 y/0
Not saying the value is off for hubbie, it’s just not the direction for MTL

5th overall bonus try 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>NJ is no contender and have no need overpaying for assets. Realistically Edmunson nor Chiarot should have this kind of value, it got seriously bloated in that market and FLA is due to regret it pretty soon if Caps drop them.
If we take bad examples to evaluate D-men trade value then after the Risto trade probably 75-80% of the defensemen in the league are worth at least a first round pick</div></div>
I never said it was right I was just answering the question in what world. A world where the market is bloated and a contender overpays. Didn’t say it fit this trade or was necessary right

5th overall bonus try 2

And in what world is Edmundson worth this much (1st+2nd)?</div></div>
Habs fan just saw chariot go for first and a second round prospect. Edmondson is more reliable then chariot.

Suzuki
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>What rumors are there out there of PLD being on the move? The only things I've found have been an NHL.com article saying that PLD and Winnipeg will discuss an extension in the offseason, and then a handful of Habs writers saying "hey wouldn't it be fun to get PLD if they can't get an extension agreed on?" Nothing concrete showing anything other than both current sides are open to working on an extension and Winnipeg would rather keep the AAV low (shocking, I know!) I think he's a big part of the Jets' future as well and should be treated as being worth the same level of return as Suzuki would.</div></div>
Okay, I just a a bunch here of things on here, saw few post on other siteS. I went with where smoke there’s fire. Which is why I said they’d get equal packages under equal conditions. So if there is concrete truth to rumour of pld on the move, which is fine he’s a good young player I’d think they’d keep him, I don’t think either package is good enough for the two players here.

Suzuki
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>part of me thinks you might be missing the point they're trying to make...</div></div>
The major difference in the two players that not laid out, Suzuki just signed a 8 year deal to stay and PLD once again had rumours of him being on the move.
Montreal has the intent of building around Suzuki so it would cost more for them to want to move him. As Winnipeg doesn’t should like it has the same intent with pld. In under different conditions I think they should get equal or close to equal packages. But situations are situational, and at that point it’s not equal.
