yeah, Max Domi sure showed up in game one with some bone headed penalties and last night when he might as well have blew marchand a kiss on that game winner

Marners time as a Leaf is Over
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>Please, think about this and delete this comment...
1. a goalie needs to make stops, look at Swayman, he won his battles, Sammy did not. Sammy, in fact, allows 2 goals that never should have gone it... And debatably a 3rd one, Swayman stole that game and Sammy laid another egg
2. I'm assuming you are talking about 1 of Domi or Bert, both of them have more points than Mitch Marner while having 2-3x the effort and compete level needed in the playoffs, the penalties are fine as that's the result on playing on the edge
3. Nobody's taking "3 hilariously awful penalties in game one that bruied them, the most was Domi at 2, one ended in a 4v4... But stopping 24/29 shots did happen...
4. Samsonov was never in that much danger, most of the shots the Leafs allowed were perimeter shots and the 2 goals that went in... You can't fault whomever you want, but you need a save when you have a defensive breakdown twice a game...
5. The Leafs are lacking in playoff production, so why do you want to get rid of 2 guys actually helping in the playoffs... Brutal take...
If Sammy was as good as you made it seem, The Leafs win 2-0 as all 3 goals were poor puck management... But he wasn't</div></div>
1-lol no, that's very very incorrect
2-Im talking about Domi, and yes, he literally cost the leafs two games with or without those points.
3-oh no, domi took two very dumb penalties that cost the leafs dearly and not three, not exactly a great defense of him not costing the team
4-samsonov made like a dozen very difficult saves, if it wasnt for him it would have been a blow out before the game was half done

you mean the guy who kept it from being 4-0 Bruins by the end of the 1st and 6-0 by the end of the 2nd? Nah, im talking about the guy who saw something shiny in the crowd and just let Brad Marchand score the game winner last night and took like 3 hilariously awful penalties in game one that burried them.

hey, remember when Domi was so out of control dumb that he cost the leafs the first game? How about thinking about how much be hates immigrants instead of paying attention to Marchand and letting him score the game winner without breaking a sweat? Oh right, you dont watch the games and only read the box scores. Typical nerd approach

Realistic offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMDannyB</b></div><div>Robertson absolutely plays with better plays lol but sure bud. Centers are simply worth more regardless and guys that have already hit milestones are more valuable than guys ur praying will stay healthy enough to even attempt to hit milestones</div></div>
Frost's two most common linemates were Konecny and Tippet and has played well over 300 minutes with both or either of them, Robertson's most common linemates were Jarnkrok and domi and he barely got more than 300 minutes of total play with any one.
So yeah, Frost has had significant advantages in every single way. And no, Centers do not automatically make a player worth more than a winger because there are actual other parts of the game than that. Goal scorers are the single most valuable players in the game by far and Robertson is a much much better goal scorer than Frost.

Realistic offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMDannyB</b></div><div>He has plenty of talent but can’t stay healthy. He hasn’t played a full season for any team in his entire career. Ur best ability is availability. He’s useless when he is hurt half the season at minimum every year. Frost is a low-end 2C/good 3C that Torts doesn’t like so he puts him with line mates that aren’t near his skill level and he still had back to back 40 point years. On any team that would use him properly he could easily push for 60. Both players are products of the teams they are on and players they play with. Toronto inflates Robertson’s numbers and Philly deflates Frost’s numbers. Also centers are way more valuable than wingers and that’s just a fact.</div></div>
so let me get this straight, Frost gets more ice time, more power play time, better linemates for most of that time, easier zone starts and Robertson's numbers are being inflated? lol

Robertson has a significantly better g/60 and better p/60 with worse linemates and basically no power play time and doesnt get the ozone starts that Frost does and he isnt significantly worse a defensive player.
It's not outrageous to say Robertson is more valuable than Frost. And that's even before you factor in that Robertson will be much cheaper and have like half the cap hit

there's nothing in this deal that makes the leafs better. Crouse is a massive downgrade in every way except hitzzz and ingram isnt even good. The first is valuable sure but it doesnt make the leafs more competitive any time soon. The roster has all the same holes and a big new one

how does that help with a healing a high ankle sprain and getting up to full strength? Nothing about Marner's play these past two games suggests anything other than he's physically a step or two slow. He basically cant play the way he has played his entire career and 'looking at the guys wearing the C' means literally nothing. Especially when the one in yellow dives and then cant even fake clutch the correct leg that got lightly tapped

Season this year is 59. Playoffs is at 3(I am actually surprised), but he gave a hit on "the play" which he avoided the hit. So, it's safe to say he's less than a hit per game this year. For a guy who averages 20mins a night it's pretty low.
He should have taken the hit. Tavares was right there to take the puck. Link below of the play I am talking about.
https://www.reddit.com/r/leafs/comments/1cb5azq/marner_avoiding_hit/</div></div>
How many 80+ point elite 2 way wingers play harder physically than marner? Theres your question.
As for the play, it was a typical 'keep speed beat the defender to the inside play that guys like him, even way more physical ones do every game.
Was it the best choice of play? No, because he's clearly not up to something that involves a burst if speed and a direction pivote so soon after a high ankle sprain.
Would have taking the hit been a better play? Maybe, but there were probably half a dozen other things that could have worked better.
It was a bad play, but it wasnt a bad play because of some made up bailing on a hit nonsense
