And plenty of teams, as pointed out by analysts like The Athletic, would want Z for a 3rd at that rate, but he's not a cap dump until he's under contract as the Hawks can simply walk away if they chose to which doesn't qualify as a cap dump. A cap dump is a player the team can't just walk away from.

Reichel is being brought over next year with a good chance to make the NHL. If you've watched clips of him, he was outstanding in the DEL. Bowman has come out already and said they are bringing him over. The first, Reichel and Z is way too much; Hawks pass.

Three trades
Chicago says no, adds to the glut on the blue line (both bodies and skilled undersized defenseman) and neither player is worth Strome alone, much less adding Zadorov and a 2nd.

Garland
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jeeerrd</b></div><div>Thats totally fair but its hard to watch someone that cant stay in the lineup. I just think if the Bruins are trying to had scoring and they can target someone like Garland who is cheaper this year and doesnt have the health issues Kase does. Maybe the trade above is an over payment or whatever but it really doesn't matter if Kase isnt on the ice. Believe or not I liked when they picked up Kase last season I thought he would be good but the only thing was his health. I think that if he stays healthy he would do well. But over the course of his career hes never played a full season. Hes never played more than 70 games in a year and the last 2 his games played have been going down. The Bruins only have so many more kicks at with Bergeron, Krecji and Marchand who are all in their 30s.</div></div>
Garland could also get injured, you can't predict that but that's not the issue. They'll probably have to overpay for a guy who is only in his second full NHL season and is a fringe 2nd liner. He could struggle just like the other forwards currently in the Bruins' middle-six. Then, you've given up valuable assets and you can't use them for an actual game breaker. Risk is part of the business but if you can get a better player, target that guy over Garland.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mwasylko34</b></div><div>A 40 goal scorer is not a cap dump. Is he overpaid? Absolutely. To give him away with a prospect and 2 picks for a 7th round pick is garbage. No one bats an eye at his contract if he scores 30-40 goals like we know he does. Rather have Risto and if we do trade him it is not for that. Kakko is not good, Laf is good yes but Rangers are not trading him. Im overrating Eichel by saying that trade is trash. Buffalo is not giving up those two players and 2 picks for that package. Hes a top 15 player in the league and people act like hes worth a bucket of pucks</div></div>
skinner hasn't had a 40 goal season in years, he washed, he has the worst contract in the nhl and it should cost 3 1st to move him. The fact is he is never going to score 30-40 goals again, no one going to take that contract in a flat cap league, and if you think he has positive value you're delusional

Hawks can only retain on one more contract. I 100% understand TOR retained $1M on Lehner's deal last year, but TOR wasn't a seller last year and Lehner was a pending UFA. Very different situation for the Hawks this year. They can't do this.

If we wanted Gardiner we would have claimed him off waivers... AND WE WOULD HAVE KEPT ALL OUR ASSETS. Not even would have needed to pay 1 single 7th round pick.

Hawks don't need Staal. Dach is a month away from coming back and besides that, they have plenty of depth centers with Strome, Suter, Kurashev, Wallmark, Soderberg, Kampf, Carpenter.

You've got to be kidding me that a blogger, someone who spends a good majority of their time writing articles, is this demented to suggest the Hawks would trade the former #8OA and top 5 NHL defensive player under 20 years old plus the #17OA pick in this year's draft for a 1 year rental goalie in Anderson who statistically is worse then Crawford. Nevermind the Hawks will sign Crow without giving up any assets and already have an offer out to him. You'd think a blogger would be a little more educated.

Why would the Hawks give up Boqvist who they are high on and a first in a deep draft for Andersen. When they could potentially sign Crawford for less. Plus the goalie market this year is crazy. Markstrom, Crawford, Holtby to name a few are all UFA and could get them without giving up what this trade proposes.</div></div>
Because some leafs blogger has been writing articles and suggesting trades like this (capfriendly level, pure homer trades) and a big enough group of the fanbase is taking them at face value and trying them out on here.

If Dubas is able to make the CHI trade happen, I will track him down and kiss him right in the face mask!
Honest;y speaking, it's horribly lopsided. My guess is Dubas pushes for a 1st for Andersen, but ends up getting a 2nd there abouts. Not a chance he gets both a 1st and a top prospect.
