Vancouver fans- what u want for Gaunce or Goldobin ??
Gaunce will likely be put on waivers this season, any team willing to take him could have him for free. As a Canucks fan, I don't like losing Gaunce, but I doubt he clears waivers.
I'm not sure Gaunce would still be available by the time Pittsburg gets to do their waiver bid.
If they really wanted him, a mid round pick or a waiver protected prospect would likely get the job done.
Goldobin would be a much higher asking price. I think hes shown enough flashes of brilliance at the NHL level to trade him away without a good return any time soon.

Canucks - Nylander?
So NO Nylander will not be traded to the Canucks for an oft injured defensive defenceman and a bunch of b prospects. (Dipietro isn't a B prospect, he is the Canucks goalie of the future. He's much better than Demko who wouldn't even be the top goalie prospect for Toronto. Sparks schooled him in the AHL this year.)[/quote]
Spoken like a person who saw the results but didn't bother to pay attention to the details. The Comets nearly upset the Marlies in this years playoffs, only because of Demko. He stole games and same could not be said for Sparks.

I like these moves, as a Canucks fan.
I am not entirely sure Dallas would give agree to that deal though.

A Fair Tanev Trade
Though it may be fair, as a Canucks fan, I would rather keep Tanev. The Toronto players offered do not fit into Vancouver's line up well. Most players have reached 90% of their potential by the age of 24, so I don't see much upside to these player either. I'd rather have a low cap hit, reliable top 4 defender eating up the oppositions top line minutes. Even if he is only heathy for half a season.

Agree that Dallas has no interest in Nilsson.
Dissagree that these players are overvalued.
Vancouver would be better off keeping these players in the system for depth than trading them for mid level draft picks. 3rd to 5th round picks have very little value. Only 23% of these pics go on to play more that 165 NHL games. Even if you chance losing these players for free on waivers, I'd still rather have them for depth that stock up on "Meh" picks.

Nice, if this were to happen say goodbye to Rantanen. Every team in the league would put an offer sheet on him. Jost too.

Cassels didn't even get a renewal offer. no way he gets paid that amount or plays in a higher position than Sutter.
This is also the season we can expect Trymakin to make his return.

Trades with Habs and Nucks
As a Canuck fan, I would probably make this trade. Not a huge Lucic fan, but he does bring a game that Vancouver is lacking. Its pretty hard to say no to two 2nd round picks. Edmonton could actually do well with Boucher too. He has shown great scoring ability in the AHL, but couldn't bring it to Vancouver. A change of scenery or coaching may be what Boucher needs to bring his game to the NHL. You guys know what your getting with Gagner; Good, but not great (except for that one game right?).
I would only make this trade after striking out on big name free agents first. If Tavares or Carlson can be persuaded with money, I doubt there would be room for Lucic too.

DEADline Deals
I'm so sick of seeing Tanev trades. This guy is a +9 on a team where everybody (but Horvat) are around -15.
The team would be a total mess without Tanev. He's signed long term at a good price, but go ahead and trade him for unproven, potential bust picks anyways.
So dumb.

I tried the same idea with Barzal. It doesn't matter how good the players offered are, people just wouldn't accept it.

Yup, he was the big part of my "Never gonna happen, and I know it."
That being said, its a hell of a price/offer on the table there. An unprotected lotto pick alone has a boat load of value.

Canucks trade deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>playercoachreggiedunlop</b></div><div>Canucks could get more for Tanev is the point.</div></div>
Agreed. Tanev is a proven NHL asset with a good contract (both term and cap hit). Vancouver cannot afford to just give that away for unproven assets. Even 1st round picks have a chance of never making it to the NHL.
I also feel Vegas and Vanek are a good fit. He brings some Playoff experience and still has a lot of offense to his game (2nd on the Canucks in points). He would very likely be a rental and a pick or prospect is a fair price for that.

trades look good to me.
Sedins won't be making 7 million each next year.
Gaudette is likely in next years lineup.
Defence looks weak. Both Physically and talent wise.
This team needs an elite defenseman, especially with this goaltending tandem.

I'd rather keep Gudbranson and try to re-sign him. Don't want him to walk for nothing, but a 3rd rounder is of little value. I think most teams looking at a playoff run would offer more than that for a big, gritty and youthful defenseman anyways. He's really built for the playoffs.

Looks decent.
From what I've seen (only a select few preseason games) Dorsett and Biega should move up the depth chart. Biega likely 7th D and maybe Burmistrov is the healthy scratch.
I think the Sedins winger spot is likely going to rotate, as I have yet to see anybody really lock that position down.

Because you might be a GM who has 20+ other GMs who can put the claim in ahead of you. Even worse some of those other GMs could be division rivals.

Canucks fan opinion; great looking top line. Would be jealous of this one. I think Horvat is not as untouchable as everybody seems to think, however the asking price would much higher than this trade offer.

Projected Lineup with no additions
Looks about right. Granlund had a good run with the Sedins so he could move up.
Gaunce will likely be the 4th line center. He'll have to pass through waivers to be a call up, unlikely Van takes that risk. Goldobin could start the season on the farm.

Nico and Nolan? - Trades With NJD/PHI/DAL/VGK
Wow, Jersey trade is a huge overpayment. Throw in 2 top four defenseman + Sutter to move up 4 spots?
Philly trade is a huge rip off for Philly. They wont have the cap space to handle that, not to mention Miller is UFA so Philly could have him for free if they wanted him.
Other teams counter offer:
Jersey = Juolevi + 2017 1st
Philly = Tanev + Boesser
Van would be wise to say no to counter offers (IMO).

Dallas Fan's Is This Fair? (Another Tanev Trade)
seems like a bad deal for Vancouver. Lose a legit top 4 defenseman and take on a bad contract just to move up a few draft spots. I'd rather stay put if that's the best trade available.

Tanev Value?
Tanev is worth a 1st rounder, but not all 1st rounds picks would be a fair deal. Tanev wont get a top 5. Hall was a 1st overall, I don't know why his trade was brought up as an example earlier, because it isn't relevant. Van probably likely wouldn't trade him for 25 to 30th overall either (not straight up 1 for 1 anyway).
I think Tanev's fair value is somewhere in the 15 to 20th range, but it would have to make sense for the other team too.
I think this could be around the Toronto 1st round pick, so maybe this trade is fair (1 for 1)?

Not possible. Van is unable to retain any more contract portions.
Sedin's will likely retire with the Canucks. They own all the team records, great to the community, will be local legends for decades.
