Minn
Minn will need to move cap at some point snd have no 1st or even 2nd line center to play with Fiala and Kiprosov ... they need to do something. Dumba is really the only tradable asset they have that they can part with. Even that his 6 million $ cap hit is high for a D man that’s not especially gifted Defensively and offensive upside is not great. All that said, I’ve always liked Dumba and think he could be better in a more fast over system. But Minn fans are prolly right, Strome prolly doesn’t get the deal done and idk if it’s worth throwing a 2nd round pick in there

Eh, from all accounts it seems he will need some seasoning. He’s offensively talented but we need someone who can play tight D to manage DeAngelo’s mistakes and who can also skate.

Yeah disagree there. Igor is absolute stud, and this team needs to tighten up their D and they could def compete. Also Malkin is a HoF center, one of the best in the NHL. the only reason hes a "2nd line center" is because the best player of his generation is in front of him. Malkin has only put up less than a PPG in one season, the lockout season. He will be a first ballot HoF and will probably continue to be awesome until hes 38+.

Maybe Malkin wants out? He’s Rumored to hate Jim Rutherford and they just traded away his friend Hornquist so who knows ... also Rutherford is an idiot when it comes to trading so you never know

Wings should take anything they can get, they’re absolutely awful. A strength of the organization is far from a truth.
But I get what you’re saying.

I doubt any team would take him at full salary. The Rangers fell into the same trap they always do. Over pay for a fading player that won’t fit into the grand scheme of things down the road. 7 year contract is a joke. Yes sure we didn’t know we would get this pick but now we’re stuck with an aging PWF who is really only a 2nd liner and is the least talented winger in the top 9 but we’re paying him top dollar. Buch is probably going to be the one they move and he will shine elsewhere because of short sighted and moronic contracts

That would be fine but he’s still a backup I don’t think he will get over 2 mil. Unless he’s cool with a longer term contract like 4 years.

Strome has proven to play well with Panarin, it might be the Panarin effect but nevertheless you don’t mess up a good thing. Also at 5 million he’s easily moved. Even if he scores 60 points in a season that’s well worth 5 million. He’s responsible defensively and can play wing as well. Smith I agree but our LD in the AHL might not be ready, what you can do is bring Rykov up and play Smith at FWD on 4th line or scratch him and try Rykov. It would be stupid for the Rangers to acquire a D man right now unless it was in a trade for a 1 year player but I doubt teams are going to be giving up quality cheap talent with the cap remaining the same. Smith is home after next year, could buy him out but really no need to do so. He didn’t play terrible this year and was effective on 4th line FWD. Plus he hits and is fast, we don’t have much of that and we need some board banging guys.

1 CBO
DeAngelo, yes its below market value but with the Salary Cap potentially staying at 81.5 mil, players have to be reasonable and he will get a massive pay increase when Seattle come sin and pumps the league with money and raises the Cap to 88 mil or so.
Also, the D lines are not what they should be, I didn't change them from the default way they were

with a CBO
If there is CBO, no way NYR move Bucc. Maybe you can get Lias Anderson for Jesse straight up. The 1st is nice but still Bucc and Zib and Krieder clicked great so they arent moving him. But if no CBO then I can see this is a def possibility, but JP isnt getting a 2nd round pick, not a chance, make it a 3rd and you got a deal, also No to Chiasson. That would put us back in a Cap crunch

New Look Rangers
Giving Pionk 3 years is poor management. 1 year deals what he should get. Also, he should not get what Deangelo has earned. Pionk underlying numbers are terrible and if he’s playing that bad and not scoring at a Brett Burns rate, then he’s not worth anything on the ice. 1 year show me deal then move him for pieces since we have Reunannen, Linqvist, Lindgren, Rykov and Hajek.

Trade Deadline 2
Yeah, I mean Rangers will have so much cap space, they will need to fill it out a bit. Perry contract would end the same time as Chytl would and Lundquist. So i think it helps out both teams dramatically. Nam has proven to be able to play with dynamic centers so he should do well with Kase and Getzlaf or Even with Henrique and Rakell or whatever combo they use

Trade Deadline
The Namestinkov trade may be too much, the 2nd and 4th now looking at it may be much, but I do think a 3rd is reasonable as he is still very serviceable and the ducks dont seem to be in rebuild mode as they are in denial so they may take a flyer on a guy who has proved that when with skilled talent (Stamkos and Kucherov) he can perform well ... so put him with Getzlaf and Kase and maybe he regains that 50-60 point touch, plus hes only mid 20's so ANH would be able to use him long term and his cap hit is low and term isn't bad so they could just trade him if he does have that return to form with the Ducks.

Dont see Tampa moving anyone this year, they are the favorites along with Nashville to win it, they will only add not subtract .. IMO .. but the trade isnt bad but Girardi is hard to accept ... Has anyone been bought out by two different teams while one buyout is still paying, that would be amazing and wow what a deal for Girardi, retire and get paid by 2 different teams ... amazing haha

Hayes Trade Days Away - or not but it kinda rhymes
Also Nash stays competitive the next 2 years and Bonino contract will limit that so by moving it and getting Zucc who will get prolly 5.5-6.5 mil on next contract eases that a bit

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gman10z</b></div><div>Why take on 3 years of $$$ (Bonino @ $4.1) as a rebuilding team targeting FA next year?</div></div>
It gives Rangers options and more picks, taking on Boninos bloated contract allows rangers to get more picks thus the 2nd round the following year. Also, Bonino is a solid bottom 3 player he is just overpaid. With Zucc gone there will have to some sort of leadership in the room and it won’t kill you to slot him on the wing or center as he can play anywhere. Maybe add a 4th rounder too to take on the contract but Zucc, even though we think he’s amazing, he doesn’t score and is only going to get you a low low 1st unless a team is desperate. Also, it’s only 2 years of bonino not 3 since this is the deadline next season. Also he could be traded with salary retention to a contender in need of depth the following year.

Please dont forget Vegas and Nash most likely will have a bottom 5 pick in next years Draft so any First round pick is essentially a Second and no way near a guarantee to be a impact or even a good or NHL level player. Hayes and Zucc are def gone and depending on who pays for what and how good either of them do, the asking price could go even higher especially since they both arent going to be true rentals most likely.

Karlsson
Karlsson is worth at least 2 1st round picks in top 10 and 2 top end prospects, he is the BEST offensive defeneseman and now a decent 2 way defender in the game, he is a hall of famer if he retired now, no way this deal gets it done, even with Ryan included.
