With an extension already in place for Buch or not like is him just saying he is willing to sign good enough for you?

Thought you were talking about the 2922 draft how is 2019 like this years draft? And wouldn’t agree that 16 56 81 for 10 not close if not more valuable than 14 45 for 11 anyways

Trading up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>I think trading down for NJD might be wise move. Most of the core is set…and the holes to plug (3C, defensive dmen, heavier middle-six winger, depth, goalie) may be easier to do with multiple picks. Generally, I don’t see a huge difference between 10 and 16 unless you are targeting a specific position, which NJD probably aren’t. The best trade down scenario I have seen is Minnesota’s #13/Gustavsson for #10.</div></div>
Damn I doubt the Wild do that but if the Devils get that offer they should accept right away. Wonder what the thought process is for Wild in that trade scenario.

When nobody wants to waive their NTC and no FA wants to sign with you, prospect development becomes the paramount focus.</div></div>
I agree prospect development is important for them but when you have so much good prospects and young players wouldn’t it make sense to use the picks to get players that help now. Trading back let’s you do both maybe you use the 2nd or 3rd you get but trade the 1st.

He didn’t say it directly but both parties sound interested in an extension I would be really surprised if doesn’t have an extension before next season

Well I think the Yotes overpaid in that one and could afford to considering all the picks they have. Armstrong loved Geekie and nobody expected him to be available at 11 going into the draft.

You guys already have Kulich, Benson, Peterka, and maybe Wallberg or Ostlund who prob get moved to a left wing spot. Unless you’re moving some of that in the Buch trade or another trade I don’t think it makes sense for the Sabres.

Nyman has always on the left side and the only prop spect or young player in the organization that has nhl potential is Firkus and that’s it. The kraken already used two seconds last year and one before that on D and you left side is already locked in with Dunn, Evans, Price, etc.

I think that’s way too much for just 6 spots maybe I would add a 3rd or switch the Toronto second to the blues one but if it’s more than that I would stand pat. The thing with calculators it doesn’t take into account the strength of the draft and the draft tiers along with the teams situation (needs).

Idk if you heard Armstrong in these press conferences he loves Buch he isn’t gonna trade him, he is gonna try to resign him I thought he should’ve traded him at the deadline

Fixing Flaws
Blues trade is good I (Blues fan) would try to keep the 5th but if the Devils are adamant I’m cool with including it. Only issue is I can’t see the Blues trading up if Buium, Levshunov, Parekh, Dickinson, and Silayev are gone before the Devils pick.

Nucks post cup win
Buchnevich deal not enough your getting for 2 years at 5.8 he isn’t expiring. It’s gonna take at least a 1st (Which is gonna be really late cuz the bucks are good) and a top defensive prospect which is a major need for the blues so Wallinder as the base of the trade.

Your getting a top line forward for two playoff runs at a good cap hit that is a fair price.

Buch is a top line winger that produces at a higher than ppg level while playing elite defensively all while on a bargain 5.8M for 2 playoff runs. He would cost the canucks first which is late this year, Willander, and a decent roster player. I don’t think the blues would want Kuzmenko so a third team might need to be included to make the money work. If you want 50% retention on Buch for th next two years your gonna have to add another 1st.

The blues wouldn’t want anything to do with that Woods contract. There isn’t even a need for forwards anyways you would have to add a really good sweetener to make it happen. Blues aren’t gonna do the avs any favours.
