Aggressive offseason for Stan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wojme</b></div><div>So does that mean Laine is worth 7 mil?
He's a goal scorer. He gets paid to score goals. If the sabres don't pay him 9, another team will.</div></div>
In my opinion, yeah I do think Laine is worth maybe 7.5 on an 8 year deal coming off his ELC. Whereas, I think someone like DeBrincat is worth 8-8.5 mil at his current pace between he’s a 40 goal scorer and is a great playmaker. I’m aware that some GM will overpay for Skinner, but in no way is Skinner worth 9 mil and Panarin is worth 10.5-11

I thought maybe I underpaid for a top-3, 25 year old D-man, but I would gladly remove a 2nd in that deal. I’m also okay with removing the conditions on the Tampa pick.

I think 9 Mil is a significant overpay for a guy who scored 63 points, albeit with 40 goals

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Petrock83</b></div><div>No thank you to Connolly and Skinner. Just keep Saad and Caggiula and put them in instead. Keep Murphy as well in case Boqvist isn't ready for the NHL, and even if he is that defensive core still looks lacking in actual defense.</div></div>
Saad is overpaid for his production. Connolly gives the same production at a lower cap hit. Skinner is a dynamic goal scorer
that could become even better when playing with Kane. With the defense, I agree with you that Boqvist may not be ready to handle that workload, but I also don’t know how to substantially improve the D-core with Keith, Seabs, Gus, Joki, Dahlstrom, and Koekkoek already taking up 6 spots in this scenario. I’d be hesitant to trade Gus unless the package was very favorable. I really think that improving the forward lines would make this team a better possession team and ultimately a better defensive team.

Thank you for your service Seabs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>His home is Chicago, he's been clear about that and wanting to retire a Hawk and work in the Blackhawks office after his career.</div></div>
If Bowman asks Seabs to waive his NMC because the Hawks are doing everything in their power to move him, it is not going to matter if he wants to retire a Hawk. He will not want to be in a place where he himself is not wanted. He’s from BC, trains in the off-season there, and lives there. That’s his true home

It’s a buyout that would allow them to reach the salary floor which is something we all know they struggle to do. It’s an unlikely scenario but not inconceivable.

Dealing Seabs and utilizing the cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NicholasM2699</b></div><div>I assume the Panthers lost out on Panarin and Bobrovsky? That is the only way they can take on Seabs.</div></div>
I assume that they miss on Bobrovsky but maybe sign Panarin for 8 years at 10.5. They take on about 4 M by switching out Pysyk for Seabrook which leaves them about 17.5 to sign Panarin and fill other holes. Clearly, I’m just doing anything and being hopeful to get rid of Seabrook’

Dealing Seabs and utilizing the cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Price_is_the_goat</b></div><div>i checked, and there is no cap benefit for the hawks in buying out marleau. and one more thing that we're all forgettting. he has a nmc and ntc. if he doesnt want to go, he doesnt go
<a href="https://www.capfriendly.com/buyout-faq">https://www.capfriendly.com/buyout-faq</a></div></div>
Well according the 35-plus contract buyout rules and CapFriendly’s buyout tool, the Hawks would pay the actual 6.25 salary over two years, but the cap hit would be 6.25 for 2019-2020 and nothing for 2020-2021 as you can see in the buyout history chart if you click on the long-term outlook tab. Obviously, Marleau can decide that he doesn’t want to leave TOR, and this is a moot point. This trade only happens with the Hawks buying him out and Marleau waiving his NMC which allows him to go anywhere he wants. Buying him out also allows the Hawks to have an open roster spot to sign Dzingel.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Price_is_the_goat</b></div><div>interesting. unless the hawks are getting a good asset like back, like a sandin or a johnsson/kapenen, they should stay away from this trade</div></div>
The thought with taking on Marleau’s cap hit for a 1st round pick is because you are hoping the Hawks make the playoffs in which the CHI 2020 2nd rounder turns into the CHI 2020 1st in the Seabrook deal. Additionally, Marleau can be bought out for the last year of his deal, and this allows him the freedom to sign with LAK, SJ, or anywhere that he wants while CHI takes on the 6.25 cap hit for 2019-2020.

I think it’s fair value, and allows Shero to keep his own 2nd rounder. If Hall actually doesn’t want to sign an extension, Shero can easily recoup those picks and other assets in the summer or at deadline by dealing him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Petrock83</b></div><div>This is definitely better, but I doubt Pavelski is gonna sign here. I would just put Saad on the 2nd line, Kahun on the 3rd, then sign a veteran for the 4th line.</div></div>
I doubt Pavelski will sign here as well, but it would be great if he did. He and Dzingel would allow the Hawks to have three legitimate scoring lines

What Is Bowmans Worst Trade
1a. Tervainen
1b. Danault
3. Panarin
The Ladd trade in 2016 was also atrocious and never thought giving up a 1st rounder plus Dano was a good move.
