Realistic offseason but with a fun Marner trade to spice it up lol
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NucksnOilers</b></div><div>Top-4 d-men at the deadline go for mid-late 1sts, just look at Walker, Tanev and Hanafin this year, same with Gourde since he's a middle 6 centre, just look at Henrique. Now the people hating on Wright are just the same overreactive idiots who went after Hughes, Laf, Byfield and Slafkovsky when they didn't immediately breakout. In 8 games this year he had 4 goals and has done the same in the AHL, he's looking to be a sure-fire 30 goal- 75 point 2C for the Kraken in the future. It's completely fair to call Marner a top 10 player but he is also just a single player, a hockey team is made up of around 20-22 players. The package Seattle is offering here is essentially one future top line centre, one top-4 d-man, one middle 6 centre, one top-15 pick and two potential other roster players. That would be far and away the biggest package in NHL history, they would also have to sign Marner to a 12.5-14 million dollar extension. Just not worth it for them</div></div>
not saying wright can’t break out. I’m just saying what I’m hearing from the insiders we probably listen too. but truthfully, after where you just explained, it definitely is an overpriced by Seattle. I just like the Players that we get back and where they fit in the lineup

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NucksnOilers</b></div><div>On hell of an overpay, that's the type of package Matthews or Mackinnon would go for. Wright alone is already a lot for Seattle to give up and with how good he's looked I don't think they're gonna want to move him. Same with the 25'1st which will probably be top 15 again with their roster, Larson and Gourde could go for late 1sts on their own + the two 2nds. Marner on the open market would probably get A+ Prospect + roster player + 1st + 2nd. This is like that times 2
Edit: Everything else looks pretty good though!</div></div>
I get that but Larsson Last year of the deal and gourde. I know he’s still very young, but it doesn’t seem like a lot of people have the most hopes in Wright. I could be completely wrong and probably am I just like the people that we get back in it. and Marner is a top 10 all rounded player. That’s not saying he is a top 10 player though.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KrakBirds23</b></div><div>Kraken decline. Only player you listed that might be available is Gourde. Wright and Larsson aren't going anywhere soon.</div></div>
Dude, you get a top 10 ALL-around player. I'm not saying a top 10 best player, I am talking about all aspects of the game, and he is still in the prime of his career. Wright has a lot of question marks around him and Larsson is about to be 31 and with 1 yr left. He probably gets traded at the deadline if they aren't in a playoff spot. And Gourde is 33 I think and wasn't that good this year. Like if Mitch agrees to this which is a big IF, this is an offer that intrigues me. Like what I said in the description and in the trade description.

Like I said a 2nd for whatever team he goes to but after seeing your comment, I see the Blues as a good fit and Id even go for a 3rd this year and another 2 years from now. Good Penalty killer and puts in 15-20ish a year but has like no physical play. Is that a good deal?

how do you think about the overall package though like is this something that they could maybe revisit just for Anderson in the off-season? I know it’s very unrealistic but in terms of the package is that OK? Be aware that brodie and gregor won’t have to be in this trade in the off-season. It was just for cap purposes now.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WN88</b></div><div>Doesn't even matter anymore.
John Tavares isn't a star anymore, and his contract will be up soon anyway. There was always an issue with allocating that much of the cap to those 4 forwards, but that won't be an issue once JT is gone.
Even if you hate Marner, you still NEED superstars in order to win a cup. Obviously, you need depth, but the stars are way harder to acquire. Once Tavares' new contract kicks in, it'll be much easier to fill the holes on the roster. Having Marner-Matthews-Nylander making 11-13 million dollars each won't hinder the team the way our previous structure did.
Nevertheless, if you wanted to trade Mitch (assuming he'd waive), you're likely not getting anything back from a team that would actually be equivalent to the impact/value Mitch has. An elite #1 defenceman would be the only thing that could work, but no team is giving up their elite #1 defenceman.</div></div>
Multiple things here. I agree. It will be easier when JT is done with this contract, but we haven’t won **** besides 1 playoff round. 2) you don’t need more than 1 or 2 superstars to win in my opinion. Also it can very from person to person from which person decides a player is a star or a superstar. But When looking at next year’s FA’s Matt Roy, Dylan Demelo, Tanev, Myers, Pesce and Hakanpaa. Ideally with all the talk about rebuilding the Dcore I’d love a Rielly-Demelo, Blank(Maybe Hanafin)-Roy and McCabe- Tanev,Myers or Hakanpaa so that makes me want to go get a 2nd line C. We will have cap space depending if we make a Mitch trade and what the cap return we get back. TIMMINS won’t be on this team next year

I think he’d be willing to waive for some teams. and I know it is Shanny’s team and that’s most of the problem. He needs to be fired asap. And I know he has to waive

Some additions
my thing is, does this team deserve to be upgraded. My thinking is Trev saw what dubas did with all the draft picks and doesn’t wanna make the same mistake if the team doesn’t prove if they are a Stanley Cup contender. And realistically we have improved that one bit this whole year. I think this off-season will truly be a big one for us. I really think Mitch is going to be traded this off-season. Especially if we end up losing in the first round again unlike last year, I think Trev makes a smart decision, and finally moves one of the core four

Trust me I want Yanni so bad since his days in TB. I love his 2-way play and how clutch and pesty he is. And with Olaskiak I want him because of the same way u like him and for me Luke Schenn and Ron Hainsey have been Rielly’s best D partners so I want someone who fits that type and I think he has it.

brodie was TERRIBLE in the playoffs. He was our best dman in the reg.szn but terrible w turnovers in our ozone and middle of the zone. Idk if I can trust him 1st pair w rielly bc Rielly’s best games are when we had Hainsey and Schenn and when we’ve seen Rielly w Brodie he hasn’t or the pair doesn’t work.
