<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AC14</b></div><div>The athletic bases those solely off of analytics. Analytics for defenseman lean heavily towards what forwards you play with. The Blues for the past couple of years have deployed Parayko in a role to the tune of a 35%ozs. They are also a one-line team that is fairly underwhelming in terms of scoring. His analytics are going to be bad, especially by Doms model.
Regardless that doesn't matter. Parayko is the absolute pillar of the Blues defense. He plays strictly defensive matchups and still gets around 10G 20A a season.
There is no world they can afford to trade him if they are wanting to compete in 2-3 years as the Pres of Hockey Ops/GM has stated without a young top end D coming back.
Neither Toronto or Edmonton has that piece although there have been 5 proposals for him to go there in the last 3 hours. All include the same conglomeration of a late 1st, B/C prospect, cap dumps. That doesn't help the Blues at all.
Even if you switched both 2nds in this proposal to 1sts, it does nothing to help the Blues reconstruct their defense in 2-3 years.</div></div>
Define a "top end D" like are you talking about a Clarke or Nemec?

But hypothetically, it would need to start with a strong young top 4 RD prospect/a strong reasonably young top 4 RD to replace Parayko and/or a 24 1st, neither of which the OIlers has. Your offer is miles less desirable than that hypothetical offer. In reality, though, he's just not available.</div></div>
Nothings for sure atm. there's a bunch of rumors that the blues are looking to trade him. Also I don't think anyone is going to trade a young top 4 D for Parayko. he's on the wrong side of 30 signed until he's 37 and you could probably get someone as good as him for cheaper. if it was parayko like 2-3 years ago I would say no doubt he's worth that but with his contract and age, I don't think he's worth that anymore

Not sure they would. Wanted to throw this out there to see what people think. Originally I hade the trade have all the same players but instead of the 2 seconds it was a 1st and Bourgault.
I decided this was too much seeing that Parayko is having a bad year and the athletic rated his contract as one of the worst on the blues roster.

Sharks say no. You're giving them no value here. McMann and Lagesson have no value, Brodie at this point has negative value and Steeves isn't the best prospect. Also you're giving up wayyyyyyyy too much for Risto. he isn't worth that much

I've never been the biggest on Turcotte, I believe there were multiple better choices than him even during draft day, Turcotte wasn't even on my radar of players I wanted but with that being said, I think comparing him to Nylander isn't a very good comparison, you do both bring up very valid points but during these "era" of the sabres, they had a poor habit of rushing some of their prospects into the NHL

I wouldn't necessarily call Kulak and Ceci "key pieces". Edmonton is in a win-now mode and they need defense. Chychrun would immediately become their #1 D man. Edmonton cannot afford to wait until Broberg becomes good, they need key pieces now. besides the chances of Broberg becoming a chychrun aren't that high. Edmonton doesn't really need prospects. Look at Tampa, they traded prospects and picks away all the time and they have 2 rings

It hurts me to say this as a Kings fan but he is worth more. I see them both play the kings a good amount and from what I've seen Meier is a better player and I would take him over Horvat any day. Besides Raty is a better prospect than Mysak

He had 7 goals and 9 assists before being traded to Toronto at the 2021 deadline. After retention (was on Toronto’s book for 1.375M), CBJ got a 1st round pick for him. We also acquired Andy Greene in 2020 for a single 2nd round pick. Idk, just seems that the going rate is high</div></div>
That Foligno trade was terrible and so was the Greene trade. Parise would not fetch 2 seconds.
Also I highly doubt Mayfield is worth a 1st. for one Vegas doesn't really need him and if he is just a healthy scratch he def isnt worth that. also there are better D men out there teams could get for a first.

Honestly my bad dude I worded what I said poorly lol. The Habs aren't actively shopping Dvorak but they have said (or at least insiders) they are listening to offers. Honestly I've never heard anything about helly wanting out. that's my bad. could u tell me where u heard this from cuz I love trades and rumors and would love to read more on it? And chances are, no, the jets won't make any big trade, the only possible big trade I can see is a Dubois trade but that might be pushing it. I'm Canadian and the Jets are 1 of my faviorte canadian teams and the fans are so dedicated and yall deserve some playoff success. sadly I've been hearing stuff about Wheeler and Scheifele possibly being lockerroom cancers. and as a Kings fan w a brother who's a Sharks fan, it sounds like the jets could go in the Shark direction of needing a rebuild (or retool) and their owner(s) keep pushing them for the playoffs because they want tickets sold.

Well, this is a rebuild scenario and Debrusk and a good young winger who knows how to score, u can keep him or flip him for picks or prospects. Coyle is overpaid by has value on the market the Jets and either play him for a year or 2 or just flip him right away too. Lohrei is actually a pretty solid D prospect and I've seen people rank him within the top 100 best prospects in the league.

My bad on Coyle then I'm not a huge fan of the Bruins so I maybe watch a game of theirs a year so I was going off of what I've seen some people saying online about him. Not sure how good the preds D is. ik ur LD is stacked w Josi and Ekholm but to me (someone who has barely watched preds games) ur RD I decently weak on paper and maybe not Klingberg but I think that the Preds could benefit a lot from getting a top 4 RD.

I didn't watch many preds games this year so I was basing his contract off of his numbers this season, I'm not sure how good he was defensively. I watched every leafs game this year and I've come to the conclusion that Holl is not worth what he's paid and is a defensive liability (merely my opinion tho).
