Except Meier is not only a better player than Horvat but he is also younger, Sharks would want more assets and Sharks wouldn't take Anderson unless they have a deal in place to flip him.

It hurts me to say this as a Kings fan but he is worth more. I see them both play the kings a good amount and from what I've seen Meier is a better player and I would take him over Horvat any day. Besides Raty is a better prospect than Mysak

I think Dvorak is a better comp for Beauvillier than Anderson - in terms of cap hit and term. Anderson is 2 years older than Beau and has 4 more years at $5.5M; Dvorak is only a year older and has 2x$4.45M. I don't think a rebuilding San Jose team is going to want that term Anderson has - he's not going to instantly turn them into a playoff contender, so it's just another heavy cap charge to carry around while they're trying to actively shed as many of those as possible.

Hertl's not going anywhere because he signed his extension last year; and Couture's not going anywhere because I can't see another team touching that contract any time soon. I think that the Sharks will have more than enough leadership in the room while they're rebuilding.

According to many Montreal fans on this site, multiple GMs have contacted Hughes and are willing to take on Anderson as a cap dump if Montreal pays a 1st plus a top prospect. This covers the minimum cost of dumping Anderson, but isn't offering anything for Meier.

San Jose won't have to give Meier away for free, they will get a a good return for him.

if I'M a GM i can grade 1st rounder and prospect been offered. If you mention that Habs should offer an unprotected 1st from the top 10, well your 20th so 1st to be is not that much to compare ... so Habs have more interesting prospect and higher 1st ... see!?
