None of those players are interesting to Zona and the 2 1sts are 30-32

Zona's timeline begins this summer with Bedard/Fant + their deep forward pool, they need top pair Dmen

Edmonton doesn't consider that Zona trade. Essentially the trade is 4 1sts and some other useful pieces.

no one is trading 1sts for

Bourgault, Xavier
Broberg, Philip

Just cause Kenny Ho drafted them in the 1st round doesn't mean their value is a "1st"

100% Bourgault would fetch a 1st, if anything he has only upped his value since being drafted. In a redraft he would he would get picked earlier.
Broberg is starting to play much better this season. So teams i also think would trade a late first for him. But Edmonton never would trade him for a late 1st round pick.

I wouldn't necessarily call Kulak and Ceci "key pieces". Edmonton is in a win-now mode and they need defense. Chychrun would immediately become their #1 D man. Edmonton cannot afford to wait until Broberg becomes good, they need key pieces now. besides the chances of Broberg becoming a chychrun aren't that high. Edmonton doesn't really need prospects. Look at Tampa, they traded prospects and picks away all the time and they have 2 rings

Drop Comtois and Shore from the deal and Anaheim accepts.

Yes, i agree Kulak and Ceci are not key pieces but they are useful pieces. Still think that is way to much for Chychrun.

It's definitely too much for him but with teams competing to get him, Edmonton might have to give up more assets in return for him.

Ana isn't getting a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd + Barrie + Lavoie for klingberg and kulikov. Honestly I overpayed in that deal. I've seen reports that a team could get Klingberg for 2 3rds

It is too much, but Kulak and Ceci are not the reason it's too much. Their relative value in this deal is zero. Broberg and Bourgault are doing the heavy lifting here. Including both of them, as well as both 1sts, is the overkill.

I would say a more likely deal looks something like:

Broberg or Bourgault (Arizona's choice)
'23 or '24 1st (Arizona's choice, possibly conditional)
Puljujarvi or 2nd (Arizona's choice)
Ceci or Kulak (Edmonton's choice, cap purposes)

Those aren't reports, those are speculation by hockey writers who had f*** all to report on because of the lack of trades thus far this season, they're as bored as we are on here, but they have to put out content.

You can drop the 2nd as well, but we're not cutting Comtois loose.
