Kapanen and ceci for parayco

agreed, I think Parayko is a slightly better all around player on a better deal right NOW. Nylander is a little younger and if he continues to put up 61+ points each year his 7 mil price tag will be a steal. Tarasenko is a 60-70 point guy and Blues fans rave about his contract.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Chopper02</b></div><div>Eh. Not sure I would agree.
Problem with this deal is that the Blues have young wingers they want to acclimate to the NHL level, and this trade prevents that from happening unless a forward or two is also dealt. Besides, Blues need young defensive prospects more than forwards.</div></div>
I agree, the deal does not make sense from a Blues perspective to make the trade. Just saying that the trade value is there for a straight swap.

lol nope
I don't agree with the Nylander+ for Parayko a straight up swap would be more than a fair deal.

Agreed they are very similar players.. Carlson got 8 and that was what 2-3 years ago? So with the rise in cap and Petro being older I am guessing its a 9-9.5AAV at 5-6 years.

this is the St. Louis Blues, they play in what is known as the national hockey league and have their first game of the new season tonight. Tune in they are raising some banner before the game, should be cool.

3rd line center makes sense and maybe he eventually passes Bozak and they swap spots. Don't think he moved to 2nd line RW Thomas might though.

Yeah I am sure they will try rotating Faulk and Dunn to be his partner and find out who is most comfortable on the left side. It should not be that crazy to assume an NHL player can play on their off hand on the point.

Figured they would try this. If he is comfortable with it it should make for a very dangerous pairing.

not a single thing you did here is realistic lol.. other than Schenns contract. Although I think Petro stays before Schenn does.
Steen is not waiving for Ottawa, Pitt cannot afford Bozak at 5 mil nor would they want him.
Hall is getting 10 mil plus on open market, Dunn is getting almost double that if the deal is over 3 years long.

well yeah that is why i said if they are not in playoff contention. Would have to evaluate the team and how much of a contender we are at the deadline to determine if moving him is worth it or not. A Stastny situation or keeping him as your own "rental" for playoffs. My opinion is that if Blues are in a good playoff position Schenn is not traded.

Steen trade wont happen, and doubt Blues move Schenn unless we are a non playoff team come the deadline.

Alternate Reality
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>Now the Blues have three terrific offensive defensemen on the right side. This used to work really well for Detroit in the '90s. It didn't work so well for Washington, with Green, Carlson, and Shattenkirk. Should be interesting to see a team try it again, and find out whether the Caps just had bad luck that year, or whether now it's more valuable to have a different kind of guy on your bottom pair?
But yes, signing Gardiner would have made 10x more sense, since he's somewhat similar, and almost 2M cheaper.</div></div>
Parayko is not offensive and Petro is more two way... Green and Shatty on the same team is two completely offensive guys this is not the same.

Agreed Trouba is better and younger, and sure Faulk will be 34 when the deal ends which is not terrible but I do not think there is a NTC or anything so he can always be moved or exposed in expansion.

Alternate Reality
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_K</b></div><div>I'm choosing to subscribe to the theory that we are going to extend Petro and then expose Faulk to Seattle so we get the best 2 years of the contract and then gain some cap room for the next wave of RFAs.
Edit: and Faulk's PP1 role will surpress Dunn's point totals and we'll get him on a friendly deal.
I'm trying to stay positive, can you tell lol</div></div>
Yeah exactly and at worst he is a backup plan IF Petro decides to walk after this year, its better to have the options and the good players on your team and worry about contracts and expansion when the time comes.

Trouba just signed for 8 mil and Myers just signed for 7 mil so 6.75 for Faulk is pretty solid IMO.

would have been a better scenario probably BUT, Faulk is far superior to Gardiner in terms of helping the PP and the extension is not terrible.
