MTL does not need Bozak. Like 0/10 chance they want him.
Allen, on the other hand... We'd give you Lindgren + a 4th for Allen + a 2nd

Just because Allen might get moved to shed salary doesn’t make him a cap dump player. I’d be shocked if don’t get a legit good offer for him heck I’d be interested in trying to work something out from an oilers perspective.

This is what's interesting, teams like the Blues have pieces that arent negative value but they have a cap issue. That issue is what's going to make teams not agree to trades unless they are lopsided.
Allen will be considered a cap dump because of his contract, you wont get anything of value for him, dame can be said of Bozak. Blues arent going to be able to hust ship them out for picks this off season when teams know it's a flat cap and the Blues are in trouble.

Also Blues do not need another RHD.
Do agree that moving Allen and Bozak are good ideas just think other teams are more realistic. CAL, DET or EDM for Allen and basically anywhere Bozak will waive but the return wont be someone like Miller probably a pick.</div></div>
I understand that Allen assessment. I figured STL would want a cheap goalie in return. Dubnyk has been darn awful this year so my take on that is that a jobshare would be better.
As for BUF, to me it makes total sense. They are desperate for centers. MarJo isn't working. Maybe the return isn't too logical, but the destination to me is.

Blais will return more value and is kind of an odd man out with the current roster. He's an arb-eligible RFA so he'll get a lot more than $1MM, probably closer to $1.75-$2.25. Too rich for the Blues if extending Petro. Sure I'd be ecstatic to keep him for a mil but you aren't being realistic.
</div></div>
Blais hasn't earned more than Barby got. Maybe $1.25M tops at this point.

Blais is extremely underrated. He's essential to the Blues 4th line.
I can see a team taking a chance on Allen in the off-season. Edmonton and Carolina would benefit from his skill set and affordable salary demands.

I've been wondering if Husso is going to happen. I thought like a lot of others that he was in line ahead of Binnington. Mind you I only really paid attention to him when the Blues/Avs shares a farm team and Binn was playing for Providence.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LGBstl</b></div><div>1. No thanks on Petro for 8 years... if he is resigned give him more money for 6 years. 9.5 mil for 6 years. .</div></div>
Yeah this makes more sense. Much safer play and paying Petro 9 or so mil is worth it in the sense that you're guaranteed an elite player. Looking at you Skinner.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Copenhagen</b></div><div>If I am Oilers, I am trying to get Allen</div></div>
A Koskinen-Allen duo for just under 9 would be reasonable. You could expect pretty damn decent goaltending out of either of them for 35 - 45GP.

a) I don't think Petro signs for 9.5 for 6, b) DA has been prioritizing low AAV over term. Look at the Schenn deal as an example. Extend guys beyond their prime years to keep low AAV to keep the band together and hunt for additional championships while the window is open.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LGBstl</b></div><div>Move Bozak or give Dunn less money and term. 1-2 years for 2.5 mil.</div></div>
100% agreed on moving Bozak if it is possible and necesasry. I don't think Dunn takes the money/term you are proposing.

Fair enough. I picked Montreal mostly because they have the Blues 2nd rounder from this year so the synergy was nice. The actual team matters less than the concept -- trading Allen for some draft capital and to free up space to sign Petro.

I was living in Calgary when he got dealt and I wanted to get his name on my jersey, but they didn't have the font size to fit 11 letters on the back.
He's one of my favorites too. Good for Canada in international and a big part of the Blues hoisting their first cup last spring

Thats an overpay by the Leafs. Nylander isn't that good. Simplify the trade and base it off of one of Kappy, Mango, Kerfy, or Dermott (adding depending on what piece they chose).

I'm curious to know why you don't think Parayko has been good this season? Point totals pretty much in line with career norms, corsi is off, but should be explained by the fact that he's also started 56% in his own zone (career high was 52%). Blocks and hits are both in line with career averages as well.

Anderson to Blues
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>This is an overpay. Anderson has been absolutely awful this season and Blues fans go overwrought about Sanford regardless of how he actually plays (which is typically not bad). They just have to have somebody to tear down, and since they can't bag on Allen these days, here we go on Sanford.</div></div>
A 25-yr old RFA who scored 27 goals in 18-19 and then shoots below 2% through half of this season, and gets an injury to boot, seems like a great buy low option. Anderson has spent time on all 4 lines, hasn't been able to stick with any linemates this year, but he's already shown that he can produce in the NHL. You and I watch Sanford all the time, at this point we know his highest level of play and how infrequently he actually reaches it.

I agree that's all it should be. Can't imagine that someone doesn't come above that offer though. Maybe Sanford or even Blais works too. A young NHL player and pick.

Anze Kopitar vs Evgeni Malkin
Woooooo boy. Here come all the Pens fans.
This is comparing apples to oranges, as like OP said, they're different players.
Kopi's defensive game >>>>>> Malkin's defensive game.
Malkin's offensive prowess >>>>> Kopitar's offensive game.
When building a team, if you already have a Sidney Crosby, you pick Malkin over Kopitar. If you have a Connor McDavid/Auston Matthews, you might choose Kopitar over Malkin to round out your team.
No real choosing a clear-cut "better player" here. Just enjoy two great players for what they separately bring to the game. Both will make the Hall easily.

Toronto Kid goes Home
That OTT trade is a bad idea. The last year of Allen's deal should be trade-able and Steen can be bought out if we really need to pinch the cap space. Not gonna lose a 1st and our best prospect to manage cap when there are a few better ways to do it.
I don't think the Blues are in a position to trade Dunn but Nylander would be a good addition if Toronto wants to move him. It would require some additional shuffling in STL given our depth at C/RW now and in the future.

Blues best fit for 2021
i'm gonna be honest, i don't know why seattle would take that trade. husso is a fine prospect but STL is going to wind up in a terrible expansion spot and will have to expose someone significantly more valuable than a B prospect and a pick.
in a world where pietro is re-signed, blues will certainly protect:
ROR
tarasenko
schenn
schwartz
thomas
kyrou
pietro
parakyo
dunn
binnington
that means STL can only protect one of perron, bozak, blais. it also means stl has to expose faulk. any one of those four is more valuable to an expansion team than the trade package you propose.
EDIT: add kostin to the exposure list--if you trade with the intention of playing him up, he'll reach his minimum game requirement and lose his exempt status.

You’re right, it’s unlikely he’s waived but he really shouldn’t be automatically given a spot. I’m fairly sure Walker, Nolan, or Poganski are all better and then obviously Kyrou and Kostin should play when ready. I’ll say he gets a game or two and then straight to the press box.
