Carlson got 8x$8mil (in the second year of that deal now), and him and Pietrangelo have almost exactly the same career point totals. Maybe a bump up to $9mil a season because of some of the crazy deals defensemen have got since then.

The PP formations are definitely a little odd but it should be interesting to see how they work. That second unit (I agree with y'all it's really the 1st unit) has arguably our 5 best players in transition - they should have no issue gaining entry and setting up. My fear is that they run into problems with predictability as Tarasenko is the obvious shooting threat.
Excited to see Thomas on that unit - they'll probably try to emulate TOR PP1 with Thomas making the plays from the right side, looking cross-ice for Tarasenko gliding in from the blue line, or throwing it toward the crease to let Schwartz/Schenn make plays in tight.

I would think Faulk would be with Tarasenko and Pietrangelo with Dunn for one timer purposes.

Armstrong is a great GM but his handling of contract extensions has always been poor. Lehtera, Berglund, Sobotka, Steen, I'd even say Bouwmeester's most recent (premature) extension, and now Faulk. But if you notice, he has made most of those disappear and has won the cup with the ones that didn't go away - and so far, zero buyouts/dead money. I'm not too worried; adding Faulk gives us a few more immediate runs at the cup, and it will sort itself out later... as long as he can find a way to pay Pietrangelo.

Hes gonna be 30 and will likely command 8 +, Faulk is 27. I wonder if Tampa would consider a Sergachev + for Pietrangelo with extension.
Dunn-Parayko
Sergachev-Faulk could make an excellent top 4

Don't mind the trade but this seems like there has to be another move to be made. Does this make Petro or Parayko expendable? Do they move Petro in the last year of his deal? Bring back a kings ransom for Parayko? Bortuzzo is a good 3rd pairing RH d-man so this seems like a overload on the right side and weak on the left...

Hopefully someone on an ELC so we won't have to protect him in expansion draft over Dunn/Petro/Colt

I think both of these trades are firmly in the realm of possibility. I actually like Sanford, but I can’t deny that Blais and Kostin both look like beasts and Kyrou will also need to play. As for Edmundson, I will be quite happy when I don’t have to watch him anymore.

That’s was like basically his “debut” haha, seemed to play pretty well after he scored and just didn’t seem overwhelmed stepping into such a big moment, it was his first goal ever, otherwise he’s got 11 nhl games but debuting fully this year we expect

Maybe Kane and a pick? idk I just dont see them as good trade partners as they both are decent teams needing to add NHL ready players to get them over the hump.</div></div>
I’d say they’re better than the other in their own way. Yeah it’s hard to compare them.
Anderson big game, plays both ends, great overall
Labanc offence is his house, starting to play both ends, more of a catalyst

Yeah but sharks would rather labanc than Anderson at this point.
Trying to make it an achievable trade.
Chmelevski
True
Gambrell
1st
???
If we’re counting Gambrell (nhl ready guy) that’s 3 top sharks guys, I mean the only better we got is Merkley and Chekhovich but Columbus would rather Centre to go behind Dubois I assume.
Dubois
Wennberg
Texier
Gambrell or Sasha (he may stay down another year)
Or Gambrell can play wing and than you got True and Sasha as 2 centre guys, Sasha being the big piece of the trade, than Gambrell, than true + the first

Getting Rid Of Unneeded Cap pt 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BraydenSchenn10istheGOAT</b></div><div>Ottawa needs a goalie so they get Allen and we take back Anderson for cap reasons, steens a cap dump had to take back Calahan for cap reasons, and they could use Edmundson they probably would sign him to an extension. So what prospect do you think I should have taken back.</div></div>
Slow down: Allen and Anderson have roughly equal ability and cap hits. Steen and Callahan have roughly equal cap hits but one isn't playing this year and his cap hit won't count.
So it's all a wash until you get to Edmundson + 2nd + 4th for Brannstrom (arguably top-5 defensive prospect in the NHL, ready for NHL right now) and a 1st round pick (OTT projects to be a bottom-5 team in the final standings, meaning their pick will be anywhere from 1st overall (most likely) to 7th overall.
So none of it is realistically going to happen. And if the goal is to move Edmundson's cap, his value given his contract/performance last year, his value is probably between a 2nd and 3rd round pick.

Is this a trade fit
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LGBstl</b></div><div>Base of trade is probably solid because Tampa needs cap relief, but ANA will need to add a decent amount to even it out. And Tampa is in a position to win now so they will want solid players.
Maybe Ritchie and Kase or a higher end prospect.</div></div>
Yeah for sure, I just wasn't sure of Gourde's value. I was just looking at TB's cap situation next season with Vasy getting his raise, Point signing in the 8M-9.5M range and Sergachev, Cirelli, Cernak all needing new contracts they are going to be in a serious cap crunch. although I think Kase > Gourde so I dont think he's the add but thats my opinion and it could be wrong
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CrossFireX33</b></div><div>I don't think ritchie has that much value, Gourde can play on the top two lines where Ritchie is more of a bottom 6 guy</div></div>
Oh for sure, Ducks would be the ones adding I just was wondering if a deal with this as the base is realistic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Barbs</b></div><div>On its own Gourde > Ritchie but If Tampa needs cap space they might make a move like this</div></div>
They will next year for sure with Vasy getting his raise, Point signing in the 8M-9.5M range and Sergachev, Cirelli, Cernak all needing new contracts they are going to be in a serious cap crunch. I know this wouldnt be 1 for 1, I just thought the base made sense

Why would MTL want Allen? Why are we downgrading from Allen for no real return?
