Deadline Push

This team is a dream team. However, out of all of the transactions above, the Leafs would only acquire ONE of Ferland or Pesce. Dubas will not acquire any rental players because Lily, Engvall and other trade pieces will be fighting for a spot on the team as soon as this fall.

Leafs 2020-2021
All Leafs fans who started watching hockey when Matthews was drafted do is worry about the Matthews and Marner contracts, so yes I know they have to be signed this Summer. This file is for 2 years from now so it assumes the extensions occur this Summer.
What do you propose for the Kappy and Dermott contracts then?
2 months ago people were proposing Pesce, a 1st and a prospect for Nylander, so a middle 6 forward and a 2nd isn't too far off. Brown is an extremely underrated forward who can put up 10-15 (20 goals 16/17 szn) goals a season and will put up a decent amount of assists because he digs out the puck from the corners.

Nylander Trade
Pretty sure we wouldn't be able to get ALL that for Willy and Leivo, but I agree with Manson and a forward. IMO, Willy to either the Ducks for Manson + or the Canes for Pesce, a player like Zykov/Gauthier, and a pick (Or for Hamilton if the Canes are that desperate, obv we don't get that much if the key return is Hamilton)

Patience will get us a cup - please comment
Exactly, we need to "Trust the Shanaplan" and continue with the efficient layout that has led to success. Tavares is world class but will cost too much, and John Carlson is another d-man who produces well offensively but has blemishes defensively, which is not what we need going forward as we already have Reilly, Dermott, and Lily (Trade Gardiner for assets that will help make us a contender now). In terms of that "Stud" we need to play with Reilly, he will have to be acquired via trade (As you have above) using first-round picks that no longer have that much value, and a prospect if need be. Johnsson and Grundy are 2 of the several solid young prospects who will come up and fill in for any departures. We have the core group up front and have the young inexpensive prospects to fill around them like the Pens and Hawks have done to prolong their success and ability to content annually.

TML Offseason
Not trading JVR, Boazk, and Uncle Leo at the deadline doesn't bother me at all because what kind of message does it send to the team? If you are for sure in the playoffs and are trying to win now before the big 3 sign their new deals, why trade your best player on the left side and your most reliable faceoff man. I am not too upset with losing all 3 because one we do not have the cap space moving forward, and two because of the young depth in the Marlies who will very likely be in the lineup come October.
However, Gardiner is an asset I definitely don't want to lose for nothing because his ability to move the puck and skating is valuable in today's NHL. Considering the several other young mobile d-men we have in Reilly, Dermott, and Lily, Gardiner is the odd man out going forward, and could be very well used in a package for the "stud" that will play with Reilly.

I agree. I did not mean to trade Gardiner as sellers but for immediate help, as you mentioned, possibly as a part of a deal for a top pair player this summer. Should have clarified that. I also do hope that the Leafs give Sparks some action this year, stellar with the Marlies this season.

LeafsForLife - 2020-2021
I didn't get around to trading all of the current Marlies yet.
I did a roster for each of the next 3 seasons and made the Martin trade for this upcoming season, I am just showing all trades in previous years.
