Dahlin part two
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drewjenkins</b></div><div>That still doesn't change the fact that right now Toronto is better with Nylander vs Dahlin. And I think they're trying to win this year.
And yeah Landeskog is a good Nylander replacement but there's no need to make a terrible trade involving Nylander + Sandin + 1st.
Heiskanen + Maker + Fox are all better players than Dahlin at the moment, and there's an argument for Hughes as well.</div></div>
This trade would be done in the offseason. I like Nylander too but you have to give to get. Dahlin isn't as good as Heiskanen or Maker, but those teams aren't dealing those players. I think Buffalo would listen to offers on Dahlin, especially if he wants out. Toronto's defence has been an issue for about 5 years now (as a playoff team), and a top 6 that's listed above is about as good as it gets. Besides a trade for an Ekholm which is what alot of Leafs fans want would cost a 1st, Sandin, and a great roster/high prospect anyways, and Dahlin is better than Ekholm.

Dahlin part two
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drewjenkins</b></div><div>That's probably the biggest over-payment I've ever seen.
The fact that he's only earned $4,000,000 kinda proves he's not worth it no?
And he's been terrible this whole year.
Swapping Nylander alone for Dahlin literally makes Toronto worse right now.
May as well add a 1st + 1st + 2nd to the deal.</div></div>
One year doesn't make a player, he's 20 years old. The whole Buffalo team is bad, his upside is huge. He's got a big frame, great shot, great vision, exceptional skating ability, but needs to get a little stronger. The previous year he put up 40 points in 59 games as a 19 year old dman. And Landeskog will replace Nylander's offence anyways and is a more complete player. The views on Dahlin seem to be really polarizing, but I see him being better than Reilly.

He's had a great first two years; very few dmen play in the NHL at 18, let alone put up his numbers. He's not the next Hedman or Lidstrom, but he's elite having a bad year. You could make the same argument for Eichel.

Latest deadline ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Maximporebski</b></div><div>The truth is that Liljegren was a 2017 1st round pick. He is great in the AHL, but hasn't done much for the Leafs at the NHL level, and cannot really crack the lineup. Sandin is better, and I just don't see Liljegren being in the Leafs plans for much longer. He is the most expendable Leafs prospect with a decent amount of value. Oleksiak is someone the Leafs could re-sign next season, especially if they lose Holl to Seattle. He is 6'5 255lbs. Big boy lol. The Bernier deal has a lot going to DET because the Leafs need to dump Kerfoots contract.</div></div>
Liljegren really hasn't been given that much of an opportunity at the NHL level (11 games in one season when the Leafs were going through a losing streak). Holl wasn't given that opportunity under Babcock, and he's a pretty good dman now. Another example is Carter Verhaeghe in Florida, a player the Leafs gave up on way too soon. Liljegren has too much skill ie puck moving and skating to not be in the NHL at least in a bottom pairing role.

I wouldn't give up a second round pick for Bernier alone, let alone that package. He's having one good season, and he's a rental. Bad asset management. Alot to give up for Forsberg.

TOR and NSH
Even if Toronto aquired these players I don't see them going on a cup run. It's likely to be a Tampa vs Vegas/Colorado final. And I'd rather trade a early 2021 pick in a uncertain draft than 2022 that's likely a stacked draft. Don't like giving up on Liljegren too early either.

I think he's playing through injury, and with Campbell injured as well, Leafs need him playing. Exploring other goalie options in the offseason is plausible, depends on how he performs in the playoffs.

Swap leafs for sabres, cheap for 8m and Matthews and marner for Eichel and Reinhart.
Also, how’s his face? Did he return?</div></div>
Didn't know about his injury. Matthews and Marner are light years ahead of Eichel and Reinhart, its not even close, no disrespect to Eichel. Hall did have a really good season last year (52 points in 65 games), certainly not worth 8 million, so he's definately not getting that this coming offseason. I think my number is fair and its a one year deal like I said (given that he's healthy enough to play).
