Get Toronto Past First Round
Might as well throw Bedard in there too since we’re living in fantasy land.
I hate to break it to you but 1 year of Marner isn’t worth even their late 1st round pick. If the Hawks want Marner they can just wait a year until he’s a free agent and sign him without giving up anything.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Orionus</b></div><div>I love all these folks pretending like PPG selke wingers with top tier possession numbers grow on trees.
I'd trade Reichel, Phillips, and the 2025 1st for Marner with an extension in place, and not bat an eye.</div></div>
Then it’s a good thing, you’re just an armchair GM and not an actual one. Marner isn’t a 12.5 million player and isn’t worth the equivalent of two 1st round picks, a 2nd and one of our young D men

No 1st round pick attached, the deal would probably have to be 1 for 1 to get Chicago to consider it.
All hypothetical as both parties would have to both waive their respective NMC’s, I don’t see that happening.

Might be the worst valuation of Marner I’ve ever seen, Hawks throw their phone out the window and block Torontos number

Marner picks
I would say yes to the Marner trade barring it be a sign and trade. I’m not giving Marner over 10 million AAV with term.
Not feeling the second part of the trade as Mrazek will be the starter until Commesso is ready since Soderblom imploded

Because he’s injury prone. Learn to read. That’s embarrassing

Blackhawks next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>You're clueless.
For comparison:
Lukas Reichel, first 84 games: 10 goals, 16 assists, 26 points, -44
Trevor Zegras, first 99 games: 26 goals, 48 assists, 74 points, -15
If Reichel plays every one of the 21 games remaining in the season, he's still odds-on not to record half as many points in 105 games as Zegras did in 99.
Here are some more fun facts: of all players wearing a Black Hawk jersey for the four seasons from 2020-2021 through this one, only Patrick Kane recorded more points than Zegras despite the fact that Z has played only 19 games (plus three shifts) this season. Only Kane and Alex DeBrincat scored at a higher rate per game than Zegras. Black Hawk forward over that span still in Chicago who has the most points: Philipp Kurashev, with 96 points in 245 games; Zegras has 146 points in 200 games.</div></div>
You typed all that so sure of yourself, but omitted the fact that he has 7 points THIS season. Hawks aren’t breaking their rebuild for “Michigan” merchant. I’m not keen on Reichel either but you also omitted Nolan Allen and Torontos 1st as a part of the deal. Allen being one of the Hawks clear cut most ready D prospects. Again you don’t leverage a rebuild for an injured 1 way player

Trying to Project 2 years out
One of the more well thought out outlooks I’ve seen on here. I’d personally like to see the Hawks approach this offseason by signing guys like Marchessault or Stephenson from Vegas for inflated 2 year deals.
This TDL maybe sell high on Murphy to a contender if they overpay. I’m hoping TB keeps falling and Hawks can grab maybe a guy like Parekh or Silayev if they fall like Moore did (wishful thinking)
If ANYONE approaches the Hawks about Jones and he’s willing to waive his NTC. Do it.

What I Would Do This Off Season
Might be a contender for worst moves I’ve ever seen. Bravo.
Blow up the entire rebuild to have MAYBE 2-3 .500 seasons before back to being last in the league and Bedard wanting out because you gave away the entire future

I still see them maybe signing a UFA like Marchessault for 2 years at a high price

Seems like an amazing deal for both, Toronto needs a stay at home d man, good contract. Hawks in return get a good RHD prospect and 1st.

Hawks decline. They’re low on RHD as is and you extremely underrated Murphy’s value. Hawks don’t part ways with Murphy for less than a 1st. That Boston pick is essentially a 2nd rounder. On top of that they’re swapping a good Mrazek who they just extended for Korpi? No thanks. Maybe if it was Ottawas own pick

Hawks decline, I think they’re content with keeping Murphy as they’re not deep on RHD, I think the only price that they’d be willing to reconsider is a 1st + Prospect with Chicago retaining salary

Yes. A roster player for only 3 years and top 10 pick (D heavy draft) in this draft on top of the other 2 1st we have this draft. 5.5 mill for 3 years is nothing with the amount of contracts we have coming off the books after this season. You’d be stupid not to take this deal and run

Chicago accepts, seems like a good all around trade. Murphy deserves a legit chance at a cup, underrated D for TOR. Chicago gets assets and a young prospect RHD.

2 years down the road and take the next step
A) Kane won’t ever be back on the Hawks, he’s cup chasing and doesn’t want to rebuild. One day contract to retire.
B) Marner at 12 million is a mistake and costly one. Chase someone like Marchassalt from Vegas or Toffoli
C) Oliver Moore had a WAY higher ceiling than the 4th line.
D) I agree on the RHD options in the future. 2024 draft happens take Celebrini/Lindstrom. Play on Bedards wing, use TB’s pick for a D man since it’s a very deep draft for Defense.

Marchessault is who I’ve been lobbying for too, looking for a raise short term deal. Plays a game that would benefit Bedard. I’d even make a play for Chandler Stephenson too from VGK. I see Del Mastro on the team next year, maybe even Allen. With any luck maybe Celebrini takes one of the Center spots
