That doesn’t get Anderson IMO. He will likely be packaged in a bigger deal.

I also do not like that contract for Gavrikov. I say it's more likely we see something similar to a 2 year, $2M AAV deal as a bridge to see how good he will end up being.</div></div>
I think there seems to be a gap between how jarmo values marchenko and how the rest of the hockey world doesn’t really know his name yet. Also, agree with the Gavrikov assessment.

Marchenkos value will be similar to Kravstov or podkolzin.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>A) that’s not enough for Calgary to move Gaudreau.
B) Columbus doesn’t need a wing. If anything we’d trade for Monahan, but then it would still cost more then we’d want to give for him to be a 2nd line center.</div></div>
1. The 2nd line center will be filled from within. Texier will have his opportunity, and will likely fill that role. Foudy will also have an opportunity but will likely play wing. Also, wennberg had a solid playoffs.
2. The dire need on this team is high end skill. It was the difference in the Tampa series.
3. The trade value for Gaudreau will be directly affected from his sub-par regular season, his lack of playoff success, the upcoming flat cap, and his contract only has 2 years left on it.
4. Marchenko is clearly gaining value. There will be a bidding fest for A player like Anderson between teams such as Toronto, Buffalo, and Calgary.
5. The flames aren’t going to give up Johnny Hockey in exchange for draft picks. They want to shake up their core and bring in new faces.

I agree with you 100%. Moving a goalie would probably be more likely and more ideal. I just added marchenko so people didn’t torch me for overvaluing JG.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>I would be surprised if the Sabres are not looking to make a big splash before the next season starts. What they need is a #2 center and RW, and a LD. They desperately need to get better at face-offs, which would be a lot to improve the power-play and penalty kill. A lot of these needs can be addressed internally, or through free agency. Anderson could be a top 6 RW, but he has little leverage as an RFA after the year he had. Buffalo does not give up its first round pick for anything less than Dubois, who you’re not trading.</div></div>
Lol the 8th pick for Dubois, a 1C? Give me a break man.

Listen, the team is desperate for help. They need to do something. Last year Josh Anderson looked like an elite top 6 winger. He will stand up for the young guys coming in and give buffalo some toughness outside of eichel. Kekalainen is not giving up a 2nd rounder for Anderson, I can tell you that right now.

Would Anderson + Nutivaara + The pick + a 2nd make more sense? Buffalo needs immediate help.

Drafting another player is not going to help buffalo. They need immediate help. They need toughness, they need scoring, or jack eichel is gone next summer.

I study data science and can tell you that advanced stats are completely worthless. Seth Jones was the most dominant player that series. 30 minutes a night, putting on a puck separation clinic. Punishing the other team’s stars. There is a reason why Kyle dubas’ advanced stats haven’t helped him when it matters.

Value-wise, we must also look at the contracts, not just the player performance (subjective value).</div></div>
Also, I don’t believe that Toronto’s problem is all defense. In fact, a lot of it has to do with their forechecking. A couple nhl-men can change Toronto’s game drastically (savard and gavrikov are an example). TOR needs size and checking along with an upgraded D corps.

Columbus just can’t afford Marners cap hit admins we’d really like to to move Jones.
Also stop swearing it makes you look like all you want to do is fight.</div></div>

Well you aren’t getting Jones or werenski, or even gavrikov. Savard will be a ufa, and Murray is made of glass. Marchenko could be a star, Anderson is the grit you guys need. Tarasov will be an nhl starter. What else do you want for your overpaid forward who didn’t show up when his team needed him most?
