All teams that aren't the Avalanche are getting screwed in these deals. Plus, MAF isn't going anywhere.

Savard aint going anywhere
A couple of weeks ago, I would have thought the Allen-Ryjo deal would be something to consider for both teams, but the Avs really can't take money in if they move Ryjo. Now, I'm wondering if COL isn't more likely to role with what they have in G and focus on dumping Ryjo for better C help.

Deadline Targets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MrLaheySays</b></div><div>dont get me wrong, i love Bo but he is a liability. if youre the owner or GM, you have to understand that keeping Bo is a risk from his past. Same goes for Girard (who ive wanted gone for 3 years now), and think of the dman Avs could acquire with 5mill to spend. At this point, id be ok with sending Manson and Girard out for another top 4 dman and a 2C. I also dont think Landeskog ever plays again, and if he does, he wont be at his potential or former self. this is the huge issue with the Avs, its not just replacing a 2C, its also their captain. just my .02</div></div>
Makes sense. I think this season shows that the Avs aren't yet willing to give up on Bo. They've moved him around and he's getting far more comfortable playing both left and right. That makes him more valuable to the Avs, but also likely more valuable as a trade asset. I'm a Sammy G fan and this season proved his value even more as his return definitely sparked the Avs. That said, I understand he's also expendable long-term. If they move a Dman than it should be Manson, but his NTC will make that hard. The Avs kept popping up in the conversations about Tanev and now they're mentioned around Hanifin, so who knows what the plan is?
I'm trying not to think about Landy until the situation is clearer, but if I had to guess, he's not likely this year. Then, we'll see.

Maybe, but that would open up a noticeable hole on D. I'd rather they dump Ryjo somehow and put together a package for another C.

Shark Selling while they are hot
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RecycleShark</b></div><div>The Avs trade is an overpay, but Granlund is an upgrade over Ryjo. Granlund's got 0.78 points per game this year compared to Ryjo's 0.37. Granlund scored 64 pts in 21-22. He plays pp and pk and is a leader. He currently has the most points on the Sharks. Worth a 2nd?</div></div>
Granlund is an upgrade over Ryjo, but he's not a long-term solution. Avs should look for a bigger upgrade.

silly offseason ideas
The Avs might move Manson for someone like Drury, who isn't a true 2C, but I don't think they move Girard unless the caliber of player coming back is higher. Girard has proven to be a key player for the Avs.

Possible TDL to Year end Lines
Tend to agree with a lot of Habs/Avs fans on ACGM and elsewhere. The deal that would make the most sense would be Ryjo for Allen straight up. Not sure what that does for the Habs, but COL passes because they can't take that much cap back.

Agreed. Not really sure what Tufte did or still needs to prove to be given another chance.

Avs fans how far off is this
I would say this value is pretty far off, even taking team needs out of the equation. Despite some Avs fans losing support for Byram for some reason, COL FO isn't going to be so knee jerk. Byram is 22, a tremendously talented Dman who fits the Avs style and still has greater potential. Plus, he's locked in another year for less than $4M. It'd be really hard to move on from that.
The 2025 1st is more valuable to COL than the 2024, so the value might be closer if you swapped those on COL's side. Ritchie is probably what throws it way out of whack for the Avs. Some outlets are talking of him as a top ten prospect <em>in the league</em> and he's a C, so Avs probably aren't interested in moving him.

As an Avs fan, I hate the DNVR contests on here. It generally attracts some really stupid posts that probably make it seem like COL fans don't know hockey.

You must really want to get rid of Okposo if you're hoping to get back a 33-year-old backup G with a very uncertain NHL future, a $4M cap dump, and a winger that COL has decided to stuff in the AHL.

Selling at tdl
From COL's perspective, it's a fast and easy no.
1. The need is C. Guentzel is not a C.
2. Guentzel is a rental. This is not the type of package you put together to get a rental.
3. O'Connor would have to be pried away with a stupidly huge overpayment by the other team. This is not it.
4. Ritchie is an extremely promising prospect. See #3 for what getting him would require.
Ned is the only interesting piece, but I don't know how interesting since COL really needs to figure out C first.
You can have Meyers, imo.
