Thoughts NJD fans
Absolutely no chance. Assuming you might think of negotiating #3 OA this year given that your roster is constructed to win now with Toews/Kane still top notch players, that’s where talks start and center around. Other than that... Boqvist or Joki would need to come the other way

Very interesting to see how this team would develop together, maybe Palmieri becomes a cap casualty if Boqvist can become a Top-6 player – unless Palmieri is Captain by then!</div></div>
The cap got really tight, really quick. I would prefer 7 for Hall instead of 8, hope it swings that way. I hope people who see this understand that the cap space won't be there past the summer of 2020 because of Hall, Hischier, Bratt, Blackwood all having new deals kick in, plus the additions going to be made this offseason.

I agree that you might have to sweeten the deal for Trouba though. Maybe switch out Noesen for a Mcleod/ Quenneville/ Zetterlund?</div></div>
That's something worth negotiating I think. Good point, one of the guys you named probably is more appealing to WPG.

Year 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dodger510</b></div><div>Good looking team. Zacha probably gets more years at that number, maybe 3-4, but the cap is in great shape to re-sign Hall, Hischier and Bratt, nice job.
Probably needs more to WPG for Trouba, I don't think Noesen has much value, I doubt they even tender him.</div></div>
Accurate comments I think. Zacha probably does get more term, just not sure Devs would want to want to negotiate Hughes and Zacha in same offseason if he signed a 3 year deal.
WPG probably does get more. Thought process was a lesser d-man who still can play in top 4, cheaper replacement for Tanev since they won;t be able to afford to keep him, plus a couple picks to even it out

How is this your way to keep Hall if you don't leave any cap room to sign him and Nico?

PHI TDL with STL TOR
After they do all of this........ you've now given them 6 RFAs they have to sign this summer with under $20M in cap space and all but one (Laughton) being top-4 or top-6 players at their respective positions. What do they do now?

Why would NJD make that trade with EDM? They're getting nothing efficient back for a Top 4 defenseman.

Ott connections
I’ll take one of the Ottawa guys, but not both that’s too much cap space taken up. And they’re not one player away from doing anything special, they’re a couple so I think Shero holds off on 2 big splashes and losing all cap flexibility he has

TRADES SIMMONDS ELLIOTT AND VORACEK
San Jose would never make that trade. It makes no sense on their side, they're going for a Cup they don't want to give away Kane or Hertl. Also, too much for Simmonds. Ferland is the same type of player and younger, much more value than you gave him I think.

Props to you for trying. Don’t think Labanc and Donskoi will sign for that little. Both worth more than that & they’re too strapped at the cap with just over $100,000 left

I could see them adjusting some things, sure. Thornton could retire. But I also had to leave out Donskoi, Heed, Suomela. Who I'm sure they'd like to retain at least 1 or 2 or them

2019 Offseason
I really like it, but I don't think they should go that close to the cap in one year. Also, they would have no room to sign Hall & Hischier the next off-season. Panarin would be great, just don't think the cap works out with. everything else. I'd prioritize a top 2 defenseman over another person who can drive our second line right now, since I believe we'd have to choose on of the two at this time. Really like the trades, I'd be happy with every one of them.

Yotes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LetsTalkNHL</b></div><div>Similar to a deal I did, but for Dzingel and Ottawa. I think the idea is there, but I think the Wild would want more of a player for player trade and not necessarily picks, unless they continue to put up poor results. If anything, I believe this is a summer trade, since this deadline will be a buyer's market. A lot of teams selling, so the buyers will dictate the market! Mostly UFAs will be moved. People still under contract probably won't get the value they deserve, and therefore won't be moved!</div></div>
Agree that they’d probably want player for player, but they’re too strapped at the cap to find what they’re looking for. May be looking for wiggle room to shake things up a bit

Next season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jshherman</b></div><div>Other teams can force Toronto's hand. It's not like these guys wouldn't be worth the offer sheet compensation. Matthews can tell TOR to give him whatever he wants because there are alot of teams who would give that compensation. I could see him turning around MTL, NJD, STL could make space for him in addition to NSH (plus that would have him playing the in the west coast so he would be closer to home without having to play on Arizona's team.
And you are telling me that Marner wouldn't sign a 5 year deal vs a 7 if it meant he could make 10 million vs 8.7 and then re-sign while he is still in a prime window for a max value? I could see a team like Calgary pulling the trigger on that.</div></div>
No way Matthews only gets 11.5 that’s way too low. He’s going to get close to the cap percentage of what McDavid signed at. So he’ll get closer to 13
