I do like Barron but I still would hope the Canucks could get a bit better of an offer if they move Hronek. But I wouldn’t absolutely hate the WPG 1st + Barron + Kovacevic (or another piece if we only want to acquire one RHD in the trade)
If there’s a trade for an impact NHLer on the table I think I’d rather take that though

No, and Mitch said above, Tkachuk was good trade for the Flames. It was the extensions that were horrid. I really don't faith in Trevling as a GM.

I believe if the player decides to go to arbitration, the team gets to decide if they want a one or two year deal. If the Canucks opt for two years, well it takes away Hronek's option for being a UFA in summer of 2025. You're right though, the arbitrator might go 7m X 2.

So Quinn leaves a cup contender to live in a sh*thole like NJ? You should be more worried about Jack demanding a trade

Vatrano's probably the next-best winger option on the market. Be curious to see what ANA fetches for him if he does move.

Maybe a swap of Miki and RoJo instead? Though it could be a locker room issue if RoJo is coasting or doesn't fit with Tocchet's system.

Why would Philly do that Mikheyev for Johansen at 2m is a wash. Truscott and Kravstov have minimal value nowhere enough for Grans let alone Cates.

Hronek has proven to be a top pair dman this year
Management is still high on Podkolzin who has some upside
Mikheyev is better than Olofsson
Then you’re also getting a 1st + 2nd
Hronek for Tuch would be fair value wise. Don’t act like Buffalo is getting screwed over in this deal

Nobody loves Raymond Mikheyev. Hronek would interest us though. We already have 12 top 6 forward prospects

Petey on pace for his 2nd 100 point season in a row.

Ya exactly. As much as I hope we sign Petey I would be pretty happy with this type of offseason if we had to move him. Two 25 and under top 6 forwards that are both 6ft3 and have 70-90 point potential with positional versatility as well as an under 25 defensive top 4 dman with long term cap certainty.
I think it would allow us to not only not take a step backwards but potentially even take a step forwards with the overall makeup of the roster.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>imawesome</b></div><div>Shouldn't be trading a top 10 pick for Necas</div></div>
I think Necas has 90+pt upside so I would have no issue. Plus Canucks are going to want to stay competitive in the short term which the 1st doesn't do. The expectation of that top 10 pick would probably be a player like Necas in 5 yrs anyways and could easily be worse.

I think I'd rather the top 10 pick and use that to flip and go get a player that you want. I don't mind Mittelstadt but he will need an extension and I'm not convinced he is worth what he could ask for.
I made another post from the Canucks side where they use that 1st and 2nd to go after a guy like Necas who I would much prefer to mittelstadt personally.
