If he wants to go to Buffalo I'd think this gets a long thought process and probably only thing I could see be asked is a conditional pick in 25. (Ie. If Buffalo makes the Cup Final upgraded the pick or get an additional lower round pick) Me personally I'd like to get Wallberg added to the trade but not sure losing both Cozens and Wallberg would be too much.

Dubois trade didn't involve a top 10 pick though.

Need to be picking in top 5 to be somewhat of a guaranteed pick in the 2024 draft. I would rather have Mittlestadt, Cozens & Samuelsson than the pick.

I think I'd rather the top 10 pick and use that to flip and go get a player that you want. I don't mind Mittelstadt but he will need an extension and I'm not convinced he is worth what he could ask for.

I made another post from the Canucks side where they use that 1st and 2nd to go after a guy like Necas who I would much prefer to mittelstadt personally.

I mentioned in another post that the cost of living in Buffalo is about 20% lower than Vancouver.
That means $14,000,000 in Vancouver would only have the same spending power as less than $12,000,000 in Buffalo.
So Buffalo could just offer sheet him and give up what would be expected 4 late round picks.
Then trade one of Thompson, Cozens or Mittestadt to recover some of the draft capital.
As @CM_Insane correctly observed the 2025 2nd could be nearly a third.
Now that Buffalo has found a GK, Elias could revive the scoring and the four picks could all be very late and worth much less than the 2024 first and Cozens.

Blame Nylander's contract on every expecting North of 12m(there is no confirmation what Petey wants yet) when a complimentary player is getting 11.5m AAV for 8 years when he isn't nearly as good as Petterson numbers don't lie.
Nylander 509 Pts in 579 games with 1 40 goal season while getting to be behind Matthews vs Pettersson's 398 Pts in 386 Games with 1 100 Pts season while usually being treated as teams main target to shut down all while being 2 years younger.

Problem with offer sheeting him if it's for 1 year with the assumption that he will sign an extension on Jan 1st. If Petey wants to go Scorched Eartrh in Vancouver that would be the way he plays it but I would think he would give Allvin a list of teams who he would take a trade to. I do hope it's all Eastern conference teams not like Kesler's 1 team list
