Trouba is kind of the tkachuk of jets 1.0, beloved as a young affordable player, then tides turn with him getting his bag. Such a perfect partner for morrissey, so tough losing him/buffy and Myers so close together.

No takebacks.
You can have Jake Bean, though. He was techically part of the trade, too.

KK > Anderson. Neither contract looks great right now and both are coming off down years. However, Anderson is 7 years older, and KK outproduced him while playing at a more valuable position. As for everything else, that just doesn't get Orlov. He'd instantly become Montreal's most complete defenseman. He's not a cap dump, I have no idea where this has come from. He is the Skjei replacement. You're a LONG way short here</div></div>
KK > Anderson
KK’s contract <<<<<<<<<<<< Anderson’s
Carolina adds in a KK for Anderson swap
Orlov also wouldn’t be the habs most complete defenseman, that would still be Guhle. He wouldn’t be the best defensively nor offensively. And if it means they can resign Guentzel, Necas and Jarvis, I’m sure Carolina would be open for a Harris and Kovacevic for Orlov swap. Habs wouldn’t tho

LMAO, Anderson is an NHL player, yes he is overpaid but he still is an NHL player. KK is a Liiga player, who clearly doesn't belong in the NHL and the fact that you even suggested buying him out over a 12 year period means you know all this.

Habs don't come close to offering that for a 27 point regular season player and playoff blackhole that is paid like a 2nd line center

Probably fair value wise but NJD has a more immediate window than a 5th overall pick provides. Maybe with 10th overall instead of mercer

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Montreal1st</b></div><div>i think Harris may be under rated, even by Montreal fans. With that said, I am sure he will have a long career and even grab many draft picks at trade deadline over the next decade, but he is probably "just a guy", what I am curious about is what fans think of Columbus russians...I like them all and wonder what each of the 3 are valued at from people that get to watch them often.</div></div>
We adore them, Marchenko most of all. One of the game day giveaways near the end of the year was a <a href="https://www.nhl.com/bluejackets/video/nesting-dolls-giveaway-6349817704112" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">set of Russian nesting dolls</a>, featuring him, Voronkov, Chinakhov, and Provorov. I have a set, in fact. Marchenko became a fan favorite extremely quickly his first year. Chinakhov was starting to break out this year, looking fantastic on Gaudreau’s opposite wing even, when he got hurt. Voronkov is harder to read because he’s huge and has such soft hands but isn’t very physical, and there were rumors out of his KHL club last season that he was homesick here. The three together formed such an exciting line that Pascal Vincent was compelled to explain in media why he chose broke it up, and doing it was still one of the most common points of contention for fans against PV even in game 82. Of course a new GM may come in and decide to get rid of all of them, but as of right now with JD still in charge, they’re probably all safe to assume are on the roster next year.
(and sure, nothing against Harris, he’s just not valuable at all to Columbus, where he would definitely be in Cleveland)

I think chinakhov is the only one that would be available if I had to guess. If he’s being traded it’s in a package for a top 6 forward

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Montreal1st</b></div><div>Would Columbus take Demidov or a defenseman? You think a young defenseman and 2 first to move up one spot is reasonable??</div></div>
I think Columbus takes their BPA and doesn’t worry about need or position, and keeping fourth means they can do so. The prospect pool is strong. There is no glaring need. They have no issues getting Russians over and there will almost certainly be at least four on the roster next season if not five and a half. If Demidov is there at four, Columbus just takes him and loses no sleep over lost assets at the end of the round. They certainly do not consider including Marchenko for the privilege of an AHL defense prospect and a late pick that should be the cost of moving up, period.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Montreal1st</b></div><div>Yeah, do you think Chicago goes for Demidov or a defenseman? Be a curious draft this year!</div></div>
Demidov is what they should do, but it's him or Levshunov. Demidov is without question the BPA behind Celebrini, and I would argue his ceiling is just as high. The Russian factor is real, and the KHL making him play a level down because he's unwilling to sign longer hurt him, but he's every bit as talented as Kuch or Michkov at the same age.

No, but if you think adding marchenko to get a late first and a young depth defender is fair then you are incorrect. The offer is for 4 not for marchenko take him out and offer a package for the pick alone.

Leafs
While the trade is good in terms of savings for the Leafs and Habs that would improve to get Tavares, I fear that Tavares will not lift his no trade unless at TDL and if Toronto are not in the series. Other then that, he'll stay onboard and want to be part of the team if they have a chance for the cup.

For the sake of a good thought exercise, and assuming Montreal actually extended this offer, would the Flyers do this if Montreal won the lottery? I think so, and I am fairly certain the Flyers would not do this deal if the pick wasn't first overall.

No 1st round pick attached, the deal would probably have to be 1 for 1 to get Chicago to consider it.
All hypothetical as both parties would have to both waive their respective NMC’s, I don’t see that happening.

I find this a truly bizarre mis-take. Montreal can clearly benefit from having Perfetti as shown by the lineup above (and he also provides some disaster insurance in the not-unlikely event that the fragile Dach gets injured again). Winnipeg have 4 NHL-quality LhDs under team control for next season: Morrissey, Samberg, Stanley and Heinola. Guhle is clearly superior to the latter pair right now and even if he isn't superior to Samberg already, he has a far higher upside. Some Habs fans biased in favor of <strong>all</strong> of their players may object to exchanging Guhle for a top-line LW, but with the overpopulation on the left side, this trade makes sense for both teams. I've criticized many of the OP's ideas in the past, but my hat's off to a Montreal adherent who can make such a well-envisioned trade. Well done!
