Ok...OK.. I'll give him an extra million and better make it a 5 year deal instead of 3.. mind you, I was going off of his minimum games played in the nhl.. Cheers

Iwach Seattle
I am assuming Landeskog would be signed during the Seattle 3 day free agency window (to avoid a bidding war) therefore would count as the Colorado expansion selection - Graves would no longer be on the board.
Overall good team, Burnz and Johnson would fetch you 1st rounders for the reason of helping TB and SJ out of jams (if that is the lazy direction they would take)
Not convinced Paul and Lowry get left unprotected but have seen stranger things happen.
Cheers

I agree, I was merely spending money on who was left of value.
Dadonov should be fun to watch..

Projected Leafs Lineup with Expanded Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PinkWhitney</b></div><div>Spezza and Thornton are both playmakers, you don't want them on the same line.
I dont mind Kerfoot on the 4th line, but seeing how you have Thornton, Spezza, Robertson, and Vesey and no extra players because of cap, I don't see how he doesn't get traded.
Robertson Thornton Simmonds
Vesey Spezza Boyd</div></div>
Ok, I see what you're saying and completely agree by perspective.. if Kerfoot is traded it actually gives us a few advantages both for cap space and a pretty good return -
However, in my opinion I would need a single roster player coming back 1 for 1 that is equal in talent (talking 7th forward and nothing under that) in return for him value for value.
I kinda want to see too if he can get 35-40 points out of a rejuvenated Vesey and replace Kapanens numbers.. is it worth replacing him with a very low points per game Boyd.. I think we are regressing here?
Player VS. Player, Kerfoot tips the scale
If you do end up trading him I would prefer to have Anderson in the lineup instead of Boyd in the event of a trade for prospects, picks and salary room to do something at the deadline. I think Joey would fit better in the bottom 6 and have Boyd center the second line with the Marlies.
It also opens the door to add a top 4 defencemen

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PinkWhitney</b></div><div>You put him on the 3rd line where most young talented forwards start out?</div></div>
Ok.. I like it
Robertson with Thornton and Simmonds on the 3rd and
Kerfoot with Spezza and Vesey on the fourth
Holy 4th line..
Now, bring on the posts about how Kerfoot shouldn't be on the 4th line at over 3 million lol
Or make it real fun by doing a combo of..
Robertson with Kerfoot and Vesey
Simmonds with Thornton and Spezza

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PinkWhitney</b></div><div>I don't like it, you don't put a kid like Robertson on the 4th line. Leafs should trade Kerfoot IMO.
Hyman Matthews Marner

Robertson Thornton Simmonds
Vesey Spezza Boyd
Rielly Brodie
Muzzin Holl
Dermott Bogosian</div></div>
You don't put a kid like Robertson on the 4th line? Where do you put him?
1. Too good for Major junior
2. Too young for the Ahl
3. You have to keep him, he's an NHL Contract
4. He is not going to play in the top 6
5. He will play in the bottom 6
6. Bottom 5 of 6 - Kerfoot, Vesey, Thornton, Spezza and Simmonds.. this is not changing
7. He is not going to be put on the expanded roster.. he's better than Engvall, Barabanov, Boyd, Anderson, Malgin, even Korshkov
8. He will play in the bottom 6, that means 3rd or 4th line but it doesnt matter cause he will be playing in a combo made up of Kerfoot, Vesey, Thornton, Spezza and Simmonds
9. In this rare situation.. with so much depth.. Robertson plays on the 4th line..
10. can't see Kerfoot and Vesey Broken up
11. can't see Spezza and Thornton playing together lol

one more move
If Roy is gonna play with Reilly than you better just resign Hainsey.. lol
-Brodie will be with Reilly on opening night
-Dermott is way better than Holl and will play on his off side on the second pairing with Muzzin
- Bogo is on third pair with Lehtonen
- Holl is comparable to Roy statistically but will also be just like Holl to start the season.. in the press box. 6th-7th D at best on pretty much any team.. even ceci is better.. never thought I'd say that.. ceci is a 6th but feel really bad for Pens fans

I have to learn how to do that, didn't know I could add it to the trade..
What extra 4 million do I need?
Don't their salaries fall under the cap?

This team is 6 million over the cap though with a full roster and you are about 2 million AAV short on Reinhart and Hall each, so you would need to free up 10 million in cap to be able to have this roster</div></div>
Wrong, this is a 20 man roster
Aberg, Bracco, Verroneau, Malgin and Dano to waivers for the purpose of being sent down to AHL
We have just under $150,000 cap space left once you remove NJ's $4,500,000 from cap
Hall and Reinhart would be paid by bonus structure similar to all the other big contracts

As for that question at the end, teams can't retain more than half of a player's contract so that's immaterial.</div></div>
Had to be creative to dump contracts to make it all work.. wouldnt be able to acquire more salary. Wouldnt be opposed of filing up the balance with prospects and picks
Great point, I was originally on the mark.

Thanks bro,
Trades meant for them to take them..
Marner, Nylander and Engvall replaced by Hall, Reinhart and Thornton
Subban, Dumba and Ristolainen replaces Dermott, Holl, Sandin
Do the trades still look bad..
Better contract control with Hall and Reinhart..
..and just say we do get NJ to take on the full 9 Million for 2 years (don't think they would cause it would be costing them 15 Million+ a year for Nylander over the next 2), who on the roster would you replace with the added 4.5 Million free'd up? Just picking your brain.
Cheers
