Trying to break up the streak
To get Stamkos to play for the Sabers it's gonna cost like 4 x 9.5
For Monahan to it'll have to be 3 x 5.5
To get Roy to it'll have to be 6 x 6

2nd overall pick
Edmonton rejects, Barron isn't good enough to play in the top 4 and we don't need a bottom pairing guy (with Broberg coming up)

Reclamation Types
Holloway has dealt with a ton of unlucky injuries and has been so great for us in the playoffs so far, Broberg also has been doing great in the AHL. As stated by <a href="/users/Bluetomorrow83" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Bluetomorrow83</a> we are up against the cap pretty hard next year meaning we are going to be relying on Broberg and Holloway to fill key depth (or for Holloway potentially top 6 if he keeps this up) spots for cheap.
Only way I can see either being moved is in a larger package for TK or Sanheim which Philly won't want to do

Modified Supporting Cast
Lmao Columbus isn't going to give up their 3.5 million dollar all-star captain for essentially Vancouver's trash. Like there's nothing of value for them in that package.
Overpay big time on the Toffoli and Zadorov contracts in my mind, could lower both by around 1-1.5 million.
Interesting Hronek concept, he's going to want 7.5-8 million long term but he may take a cheaper one year deal to hit the UFA market to score big money

Huge trade
I don't think it makes sense for either side personally,
Bouchard is a better fit for Edmonton (Offensively based) + a better player right now (Which fits Edmonton's win- now situation)
Seider is a better fit for Detroit (Two-way based) + going to be better in the long-term (Which fits Detroits youth movement)
Overall the trade isn't bad value wise but both teams are better off with their own guys

Another Marner Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gmgb</b></div><div>Even if Marner made sense for NSH, that's a grotesque overpay.</div></div>
Is it? Saros is most likely gone in free agency next year anyways unless the Preds want to pay him 7-8 million long-term to play with Askarov, as I've discussed with other Pred fans recently Tomasino is the odd man out in their future top 6, Carrier is hitting free agency anyways. The 1st and 2nd obviously hurt to lose for a young team but what are the odds either of those players become as good as Marner

Lmao absolutely not, whether Drai is a rental or not isn't Edmontons problem.
Price starts at Swayman (not Ullmark but Swayman, he's younger, better and would actually come to Edmonton), Carlo, Poitras and whatever other capital you got to fill the rest.
This package wouldn't even grab Bouchard in all honesty

Moving up to 7
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Chapee44</b></div><div>That's a massive overpay for Laughton. Sabres should say absolutely not.</div></div>
I looked at it less from a value perspective and more so team-fit perspective. Around the league Laughton was being offered for a 1st which is far too high and was before his abysmal season but still was being offered that. Philly would probably half to retain 50% but he fits into Buffalo's middle 6 and fits their vision of making the playoffs by promoting a more defensive minded bottom 6

ADB was younger, going to be an RFA, had higher goal scoring potential and had a year still on his deal. Due to that he was able to grab the 7th, TK holds less value meaning they're going to need the FLA 1st to move up to #7

Bye Demko Hello Silovs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Prime_Jimbo</b></div><div>Give it a year or so, the Demko/Markstrom conversation will be back as Silovs/Demko.</div></div>
Uh I mean that's a pretty optimistic approach to things, Silovs has never broken the .910 SV% in North American play while Demko had done it 3 times when he was the age Silovs is right now. Demko was also an early 2nd round pick in the most stacked draft in NHL history while Silovs was a 6th (I get that draft position doesn't mean much especially with goalies but it does entail certain physical advantages). For this to be a good move Silovs would have to take a massive jump in consistent play down in Abbotsford next year and Demko would have to continue his injury plagued struggles, Silovs is not ready to be an NHL starter on any team and to move on from Demko before his contract is up when he's only signed to 5 million is just a great way to ruin this teams momentum

Bye Demko Hello Silovs
I can't tell if this is supposed to be satire but moving on from your vezina nominee goaltender who is signed to 5 million a year just because a 23rd year old 6th round pick had an ok game might be the worst idea in Canucks history with all due respect. This move would take the Canucks tandem from being top 3 to bottom 5

Buying out Nurse is a terrible idea, he's been pretty great these playoffs and is a top-pairing guy around 50% of the time. No reason to make the d-core far worse with the Savard and Zadorov replacements.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MrAicrow2009</b></div><div>Ghost is worth 4-6 Million, DeAngelo is just under 3 Million, And Klingberg is not doing good</div></div>
Signing a 31 year old, bad defensively Shayne Ghostisbehere to 5-6 million long-term is just a recipe for disaster, I can get around 4-4.5 million but anything higher makes no sense. DeAngelo doesn't even play most of the time anymore and Klingberg was rough even before this year. He was never worth anything more than 5 million and the Stars dodged a bullet by not signing him long-term at his peak
