Definitely interesting, I’m fully expecting to get negative criticism from both teams though.

I think both teams just keep their guys. Bouchard is great and is a better offensive player but I think Seider will grow into a better defensive player. Considering how hard it is to find really good defensive defensemen and how offensive guys seem to be almost a dime a dozen, I think Seider will be the better option for us.
I watch alot of Oilers and I've been really impressed with the growth in Bouchard's game though.

I don't think it makes sense for either side personally,

Bouchard is a better fit for Edmonton (Offensively based) + a better player right now (Which fits Edmonton's win- now situation)

Seider is a better fit for Detroit (Two-way based) + going to be better in the long-term (Which fits Detroits youth movement)

Overall the trade isn't bad value wise but both teams are better off with their own guys

Wings fan. Not a big fan of Bouchard although he has really shaped an offensive game that is tailormade for Edmonton. Seider had his question marks this year but I wouldn't ever do this trade. I just don't think Bouch is a number 1 that you can win with. Maybe McD can squash that who knows. Prefer Seider when we need to win a cup, at least theoretically.

Bouchard is not better than Seider lol.

One had the worst defensive assignments in the league. (Literally, this is not an exaggeration) The other racked up PP points QBing McDavid/Drai/Hyman/RNH.

I'm sure McDavid had nothing to do with Bouchard racking up points. 🙄
