And "reaching the floor" argument doesn't mean anything if you dont offer a pick for Giordano. Seattle will have plenty of UFAs to spend money on or teams willing to pay for a capdump.
Good talk ;)</div></div>
And fair enough, if that's the pick then it is what it is, it would be unfortunate to not open up a bit of cap space but there is no need to protect or dwell over Kylington.
Have a good one!

Elite defensive centers are not easy to find, he's been way better than Monahan this year so let's call him a 2C and he's made every winger he plays with better. Undersized scoring wingers are easy to find in the AHL, look at the points leaders from last season in the AHL, all the ones that were under 5'10" are no where to be found this season.

If the Flames were to go to 6 for Danault I would rather they go to 7 for Nugent Hopkins. I'd want to see them spend on Danault if Backlund were to leave but with Lucic waiving I would hate to see more than 5.5 for Danault

I don't think Kylington builds to the future, Kylington in my mind slots in as a career 7th D man or AHL'er. Giordano is one year to reach that cap floor and create a bit of a culture there and he's a UFA, I see what you mean and don't necessarily disagree, just defending my pick.

Seattle gets to stock up on picks and Calgary gets a guy after expansion that they would have to protect if they made the deal with the Bruins pre expansion. I would prefer to see Giordano go, it opens up the cap, changes the leadership group drastically and gives Hanifin and Valimaki the top four minutes.

Oh god. Hahaha I have seen you have this "you're not a fan" conversation with other people, it's incredible just how whiney and stupid you choose to be. I hope people don't think you actually represent how Flames fans think.
Tkachuk's contract next season if he plays the same way he did this season is a mess. Flames have to pay him 9 to keep him and he can run to UFA after that. Or they can sign him for less long term and bank on him bouncing back, but why would he do that if he has 9 sitting in front of him and the chance to hit the open market for more money the following season?
Production wise he hasn't been close to the best player this year, Lindholm is by far the Flames best player right now and it's not close, Gaudreau has been better this year, in terms of on ice impact, Tanev has left more of an impression, Hanifin before he was hurt looked better, Backlund has played better than Tkachuk for 80% of the year. You think Tkachuk is untouchable after the showing this year it shows that you'd blindly follow whatever EA Sports tells you to on your playstation, get a clue, you give all the other Flames fans on here a really bad name.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, it actually shocks me that all you could understand from what was written is that.
Pinto probably looks like Batherson next year, Brannstrom is a huge upgrade on the D core that the Flames rolled out this year. If Tkachuk moves in a deal the left side behind him is still GAudreau, Mangiapane, Dube, Zary, Pelletier, MEP. Plus a top ten pick that could make an impact this season, PLUS, 7 million in cap room PLUS no need to pay Tkachuk 9 at the end of next season. This deal literally improves the Flames for next season and gives them room improve the RW and to sign a proper 2C (Danault, RNH) and ditch Monahan

I'm not sure what Sean Monahan you're thinking of but this is back to back half point per game season Sean Monahan we are talking about. Braanstrom projects to be similar to or better than Valimaki, that's a perfect bottom pairing D for next season and beyond. Pinto finished the college season with 32 point in 28 games, 13th in the country in points per game, jumped to the NHL and has three helpers in eight games on a bad team, that's not an AHL player whatsoever, that immediately fills the need for a right shot C behind Backlund.

Kassian wouldn't go close to Wilson. He's a shell of an enforcer since Gudbransson. Two fights in two seasons, one of which against Tkachuk, he's not who you would want there to protect star players.

How on earth is getting an NHL ready do man and a right shot C that only has room to grow in a shallow C position starting a rebuild? This makes the Flames roster better after expansion no doubt about it.

Well it would take Marchassault waiving a NTC which might be hard to do to even get things moving, then I think it would be something along the lines of:
Marchessault and Carrier/McNabb or retain on Monahan to make money work
for
Monahan and a 3rd if the Knights are adding a player to the deal or Monahan @ 5 million

Gotta think Monahan's value would be high end to mid round second at this point, you'd assume the Flames would have to take back some significant money if they wanted a first round pick/high end NHL ready prospect.

I actually like how it looks on the Flames line up, I think it would definitely mean re signing Gaudreau and moving on from Monahan. Got to remember that Tkachuk's value may not be as high as it was before this year, a team trading for him would either need to sign him long term or qualify him at 9 million next year. Tough spot if he goes somewhere he doesn't want to be.

Possession stats are nice, but who hits, blocks, scores and in on the ice for goals are the tasting of the pudding.</div></div>
Hahaha you can just say you don’t understand and that’s okay! You ask 7 billion people and 6,999,999,998 say Hanifin is better, I say two because you exist and Brandon Montour’s grandmother. Read your last two lines perfectly fine.. they don't change what I said whatsoever, at no point did I say it was good for Buffalo, don't make up arguments to argue with yourself. Hanifin is miles and miles better than Montour is, it's not close, you used points to compare D men which is hilarious to start with and then hit em with the +/- to top it off.
Career 5 on 5 possession metrics, even just over the last two years the possession favours Hanifin, look at the possession quality over the last couple years and their careers, it's not close. Hanifin has also been playing against one of McDavid or Draisatl for a fifth of his season this year, that effects things. You've provided the bare minimum and want to base an argument on that.. it's not working out for you.
