Money leaving and coming back is very equal. Can't call it a cap dump. <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Frank_Booth</b></div><div>I'd think Minny would want more than a 3rd liner, a face puncher and a low first round pick.</div></div>
Vegas could give more in the trade. Maybe base extra draft picks on if Eakin resigns or not.

Thornton and two offer sheets
NJ has tons of cap space. They will match anything that makes sense. It would have to be something obscene for them to not match.

Why on earth would Vegas make any of those deals? Let alone ALL those deals? The team is worse and gains only a hair of cap space.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BankersBox</b></div><div>How did you come to the 4 million x2 for strome? Seems like low ball. Based on recent RFAs I can’t seem him going bellow 6.5 especially if he continues to play as well has he was last year.</div></div>
I know bridge deals are kind of a thing of the past, but thought it made sense here. Strome gets a big raise and in 2 years when the new TV deal is signed and the cap likely makes a big leap he can get a superstar payday.
Also Chicago has some leverage having Dach who can take Strome's spot, and plenty of depth veteran centers. So if he wants more, they could trade him or in a rare chance let him go to an offer sheet.

Yup with the Eakin move (which I like), you no longer need to clear cap and dont have to pay a 2nd to move Reaves and Holden.

Make STL give up a 2nd and Vegas give up a 6th and the deal makes more sense.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>Yes. They could do a lot of things. Whats your point? Right now, they could not add Petry. If they trade the entire team away to make it work, yeah then things obviously change.
The crux of the point was that Vegas would have to make some additional changes to an already tight team just to make this work. Not to mention not be able to sign Gusev if they were still interested in doing so.</div></div>
Yes, theoretically any team could offer sheet Marner for $10 million and move salaries. But that's not what I'm saying. I'm offering a fix to the trade that is simple to make it under the cap. All they do is add Holden to the deal or ship him to a 3rd team. Nothing crazy or pie in the sky about it.
BTW, not my proposal. I don't think this trade would happen. I dont think it actually makes the most sense for either side, but Mtl specifically.

Actually they can if they move Holden. Which should be added to this deal.

Gusev Done Deal
Why trade Carrier? He is on a league minimum deal. You still need two more roster players, so you are actually about a million over the cap (based on 2 min contracts).

Move Gusev and call up Glass team complete
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Chips_n_beer</b></div><div>They Moved Clarkson so there is no issue in signing Gusev
Once a player is placed on LTIR (and aren't maxed out to the full relief) you can't add another contract and use the difference of the extra relief. Hence the trade to sign who we want without the worry</div></div>
But VGK has only a hair over 1 million in cap. So they can't sign Gusev without shipping out someone. Maybe they can move Holden, but then they still only about 3.2 million. So he has to be willing to take 800k less than he's asking for. And then we are maxed out with only 22 players.

Deadline deal with NJ
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>1,000 reasons this deal wouldn't happen....here are a few...
(1) If NJD is in playoff running, Hall would undoubtedly stay.
(2) NJD has Hischier, Hughes up the middle...but I guess Hughes could go to a wing.
(3) Hall is not a center...is LW.
(4) NJD would not deal their future goalie for a short-term back-up (if they did, there would have to be another piece going back to NJD)
(5) 1.5 years of Zack Smith has little value
(6) NJD would want at least Mark Stone return if they are dealing Hall with extension (ie Adam Boqvist, mid-6 forward, pick)</div></div>
1) I dont think Hall undoubtedly wants to stay in NJ. Lots of risk losing him for nothing.
2) Hughes 1 Strome 2 Hischier 3. What's the problem there?
3) Hall is a LW, but can play center. He's played there before.
4) Is Blackwood really the future? If, so that's sad. However, if he is a not tradeable, then just pull him from the deal. Chicago doesn't need him in this deal as they have Delia to be the backup.
5) Smith being included is to do the deal and keep Chicago under the cap. He admittedly has very little value.
6) Stone deal wasn't all that huge. I would say Strome is every bit as valuable, actually more, than Brannstrom. This deal is way better return than Brannstrom, Oscar F'ing Lindberg, and a 2nd.

Deadline deal with NJ
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>henriqueitsover</b></div><div>If NJ is in the playoff picture why trade Hall? He’ll probably be one of the biggest reasons theyre even in a playoff spot so trading him will kinda defeat whatever theyre trying to accomplish</div></div>
If NJ is in the playoff picture, it will be in spite of goaltending. So if they can shore that up with Lehner and get Strome to replace Hall it makes the team better. I guess I also should have listed the assumption that Hall doesn't want to commit to stay in NJ even with the improved team. They get a future 1st which is better than nothing with Hall leaving as a UFA. They also have an extension with a real goalie and can give Strome a long term deal as an RFA.
