Why is that?
He is 24, just dropped 71 points and only costs 3m a year next year and is and RFA, so has team control after that.
Those are the type of guys you build around in my mind.

Big changes are coming and Necas is a prime candidate for a team who needs some youth and playmaking.
I would do Nylander for Necas and a 1st but don’t think there is a chance the Leafs would do that.
I think Necas to Calgary is going to happen - mark it down. Another draft day trade between the Flames and Canes incoming
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pjreifii</b></div><div>What do you think about Necas/Morrow or Necas/1st for Nylander? What players would you target in a trade considering Necas had 71 points in 82 GP this year?

Actual Scoring Depth for 23-24
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pjreifii</b></div><div>Disagree on too much for TK. As mentioned in the other comments on the thread, if Flyers were to add retention it's honestly a pretty balanced offer. Maybe too much that we want to pay, but not too much for actual value.
Name an available 3C that will help scoring. Do you want Staal or Compher for a cup run next year?</div></div>
I think people get mixed up in the fact that TK will be extremely sought after because the UFA class is weak. If TK is truly available he will be one of the best available on the market which means many teams will put bids in for him. Is this offer an overpay? I mean yeah but at the same time bidding wars drive the price up on players all of the time. That’s just how sports work. 7 GM’s were willing to offer a 1st for Risto when the flyers got him so the flyers had to overpay to acquire him. Has it worked out? No but TK is miles better of a hockey player than Risto lol

This is probably the best offer the Flyers could get for TK. I know Carolina has a lot of cap space but for that offer I don’t doubt the Flyers would be willing to retain some on TK too if Carolina were to ask. You can never have enough cap space.

Flyers Fan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pjreifii</b></div><div>I agree with you. My fear as a Canes fan is that long-term success and deep runs in the playoffs with this mindset is what ownership ultimately would prefer over paying big bucks to win a Stanley Cup one year and miss out on being set up for the future. I fear the goal is a contender for 30 years with no cups, rather than a contender for 10 years with 3 cups. Maybe that works in Toronto, but IDK how long it will work in Raleigh.
Julian BriseBois in Tampa has built a really good team and has obviously been pretty close to dynasty level for the last few years, but that team is going to be in big trouble in about 5-6 years. They have no prospects and no picks to fill up their prospect pool. They're going to get bad and old and have to make some TDL deals on pending UFA's for guys like Stamkos, Kuch, and Point to refill that pool or be very crafty in FA in order to find any more long-term success without a rebuild and I think their owner is cool with that. I don't know if Tom Dundon is cool with that.
Nothing to do with CapFriendly, just some thoughts on the Canes franchise that I'm sure nobody gives af about lol</div></div>
No I totally agree with all of ur points and frankly I’d rather win 1 Stanley cup and not make the playoffs for the next 20 years than contender for 30 years with nothing to show for it. Sure Toronto teams are fun to watch in the regular season but give me a Florida/Carolina/Dallas/Vegas dream run over any of those Toronto teams. The game is about winning if you don’t go for it all at some point then what’s the point?

Sad but true. I come on here and talk about what the Canucks should do which is trade for picks and prospects and rebuid by maximizing expiring contracts but our president has only ever talked about resigning Kuzmenko and competing as soon as possible. That said this lot are so bad there is no way they can get back into a race even with a head coach bump.

I'm a big fan of Meier. Same situation as Horvat but a much more physical player IMO. The QO for Meier is what concerns me with his deal.</div></div>
Yeah I’d want them to at least have prelim discussions with Meier camp on an extension. I’ve read he’s open to a long term deal under his QO but who knows.

I have less of a problem with you paying 13mil for Pastrnak and more of a problem with giving Andersen 4 x 4.5. Feel like that's going to be the bigger anchor on your plans especially if Kochetkov is going to be taking a lot more starts going forward. Doesn't make sense to commit to a 33 year old goalie for that long at that price, especially when the Canes system has been able to make pretty much any goalie look at minimum "okay".

Hurricanes fans HELP
Canes should win the Metro, probably finish top 5 in the NHL.
First powerplay will likely be Aho, Teravainen, Svechnikov, Burns and Jarvis until Pacioretty gets back, then he likely replaces Jarvis.
Big breakout year is likely Jarvis or Necas. Possibly Bear, Coghlan, or Kotkaniemi in terms of breakouts.
Pacioretty's production is going to take a hit because he's missing 66% of the year, I'd look for Burns to regress too, perhaps Staal as well.
Goalies... if they're healthy, I'd imagine Freddie gets something like 50 starts and Raanta 32, but it's never that easy and it's likely going to end up with Kochetkov getting game time with Raanta consisting of carbon fibre and Andersen suffering from being overplayed in Toronto.
Anything else, feel free to ask.

Thank you for not overrating Columbus, though I would say that NYI will be better then 7th and could quite possibly be battling for top in the division with the addition for kadri and a bounce back season from Barzal, Lee, and a majority of their forwards. Plus a better offensive coach will help with that.

Yeah I’m not sure what to make of these cap dump demands. All IK is that the nhl really should’ve considered a compliance buyout two years ago and they still should today.

Sorry my originally comment was pretty sarcastic and I didn’t mean to be a dick about it. I agree with your plan to fire Martinook into the sun, but I find it odd that you don’t think the Sun would demand draft compensation in the Deal. Also I have to think the NHLPA is opposed to firing players into the sun along with the US and Canadian governments. It’s very likely that firing a player into the sun would be considered murder. Smh.

Yeah, I get where you are coming from. I’m just saying, his choice to not play for the Canes in 2005-06, burned the bridge for eternity. Soucy and Kulikov are both better options, particularly if the Canes get half retention. That’s all I’m saying.
