Crazy All In

Second look: you traded for Alex Galchenyuk, a young thirty goal scorer. He immediately becomes the best goal scorer on your team. And you didn't find room for him in your top six or on special teams. Lucky you underpaid for him!</div></div>
With all due respect, I don't think he would be the best goal scorer on our team. I'd take Forsberg ahead of him. At center, where he wants to be and NSH would need him, I'd put him third behind RyJo and Turris since I think they're better 2-way options. The beauty with these lines is that there's really no true 1st, 2nd, 3rd line. Notice that Forsberg (our best offensive player) is on the third line too. It's a great, balanced lineup that one could do so many different things with but would never actually happen. I just like Galch better than Patches but something tells me Patch's asking price will be higher than Galch's for some stupid reason. I'd take either if they could be had at that price, or heck, in this crazy scenario, I'd add another first or Sissons or anything.

If I could get Patches for the same price then I'd do that in a heartbeat, or just add another 1st or whatever because this is just selling everything for now at this point.

I actually like Emelin in his role in NSH. On the 3rd pair, he's played well and adds physicality that I think we need. I think Bonino will show his worth (maybe not 4 mil worth but still) later in the year. The reason they're both included in this is to clear space, so they can be moved around between the trades in my opinion.

All I can say is no. A bunch of Chiarelli mistakes and a first is not touching PK.

This is way too much for Rick Nash. I think a second rd pick would be plenty to get him. He's only on pace for 18 goals and 34 points.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campa96</b></div><div>I heard that as well. A high third/low second might do it for Duclair alone, but more should be included IMO if you want to dump salary. Maybe another second rounder</div></div>
If the Preds have to get rid of salary, I'd be okay with adding something like a 2020 3rd. If we can stay under the salary cap and keep Bonino then I'd be fine with just a 2nd for Duclair, especially with the cap likely going up next season. That just adds more depth and Stanley Cup experience. I just didn't take the time to calculate if we'd have the space when drawing this up.

I don't think that's enough for Hoffman. If the Preds are to get Hoffman, I think they have to give up Carrier, Fabbro or Dougherty. Duclair trade is fine. I don't know enough about Holden to comment on that trade, but I'd hope he's as tough as Emelin.

NSH Massive Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campa96</b></div><div>Very fair OTT trade IMO. I think Arizona might be looking for someone younger than Bonino for Duclair.</div></div>
Bonino is just to clear cap space. I think a 2nd for Duclair is fair. From what I heard, there haven't been very much interest in Duclair around the league, so I think a 2nd and a cap dump would be fair for him. I thought about Emelin instead of Bonino, but I don't like the D options after Emelin as much, and he adds toughness to that blueline for the playoffs, so I settled on Bonino.

NSH Goes After Patches
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Price_is_the_goat</b></div><div>yeah, but we have depth at wing. we need a center. center and a defenseman.</div></div>
If that's the price, then the trade isn't happening with NSH. I don't see the Preds trading Jarnkrok, Turris, or RyJo, and the Habs probably don't want anyone else (Bonino, Sissons, Gaudreau, etc.). I would gladly do Petterson, Fabbro, and a 1st, but I doubt Habs fans would be pleased with that. I heard earlier last week that the price was 1. scoring winger 2. top prospect and 3. 1st round Pick, but maybe I'm remembering wrong. If I was Bergevin, I would take this if Patches has to be traded before the deadline unless some other team like the Blues just goes absolutely crazy with their offer.

Best center prospect is Emil Petterson right now, but I doubt the Habs would want him over Fiala or Fabbro. Either one of those two would likely have to come off if anything else was added. Fiala is lights out in my opinion. He's a 1st or 2nd line winger who's 21 years old and on pace for above 20 goals and 50 points.

I really really had trouble saying yes to this because I really like Kevin Fiala. It really depends on how confident GMDP and the staff are in Tolvanen coming over this year and producing. If they think that he won't be here until next season, I don't think this deal gets done as is. Specifically, I think Fiala gets replaced with Aberg or Emil Petterson and another mid-round pick if it even happens at all.

As excited as the front office sounds about Tolvanen, I don't think we're giving him up. I love Fiala but I think Tolvanen has the higher ceiling. I think this is the best offer MTL would get before the deadline. This even feels like a bit of an overpay but that just may be my own home town bias. This is likely the best that the Preds would do.

NSH Gets Hoffman and Tolvanen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMac66</b></div><div>Hard no for Ottawa, they have a 3rd line centre already. However, I would take Fabbro plus Smith as a cap dump to start something. Preds would be even more deadly. Even still I hope they don't trade Hoffman.</div></div>
I can see that argument. Looking back, Allard wasn't a good enough prospect to offer. I would probably do like Aberg, Carrier, Bonino, and the 1st. Smith is on pace for 30 goals this year and is showing great chemistry on that line, so I don't think we'd try to get rid of him. Carrier is our second best D prospect. We gave up Girard earlier this year, so I doubt GMDP wants to lose the two best D prospects in the same year with Fabbro. Aberg has potential, but maybe a change where he can have a top 6 role would be good for him. Bonino remains the dump for me. I was thinking Emelin, but I'm not a huge fan of the options after him right now. I agree with your assessment that the original wasn't as fair after looking more into Allard. I think this one is much better though.

Duclair, Emelin, Ryan, Stone
Can't comment or rate the other deals, but NSH doesn't have a need for Filppula. Preds have a great deal of center depth and have no need for him. Whereas Emelin, the Preds have a need for a solid bottom pair defenseman. NSH has a few good D-man prospects still, but for the time being, the options after Emelin aren't that great. Irwin hasn't been very good at all this year. I think Weber is a good #7 but not a #6. I like Bitetto, and wish they'd play him over Weber, but he needs to play with Emelin to be effective at what he likes to do.

Moves so NSH can beat TBL!
Personally, I don't like any of these trades. Maybe I have rose-colored glasses on, but I really think Tolvanen can help us this year. Patches is a near-elite player in the right situation, but i think Tolvanen has that eventual potential if not more. Also, I think I remember Patches and PK not getting along very well in Montreal but maybe that was just a rumor. If true though, I would definitely not bring Patches in. I love Hornqvist, but with his age and contract situation, I wouldn't do the trade for Smith or Jarnkrok. Smith has been great with Kyle Turris and Jarnkrok is extremely underrated in my opinion. The last trade is interesting. I don't know much about Wideman, but looking at his career stats, I don't like this trade. I'm not as sold on Aberg as other Preds fans. The talent is there but he cant' seem to put it together. That said, NSH is loaded on the blueline and still has some good prospects, so I think if NSH were to trade Aberg, they should get a Forward back.

Playoff boost
As a Preds fan, i don't like the JVR trade because of his contract. I know he's a better offensive player than Jarnkrok, but Jarnkrok is more versatile, younger, and locked up long term. I don't think TOR would make that trade anyways because they want a D-man if they give up JVR. Also, I would not do the second trade if the first occurred. You can keep Smith and stay under the cap by just getting rid of Cody McCleod instead.
