On the cap space I am fine letting all the UFAs walk next year we have enough you guys ready to step up and take their spots. Most shouldnt even make the team this year. Sabres have 40 million in cap to sign, Reinhart 8x8, Mittle bridge deal 2x3, Olfsson bridge 3x3, Montour 8 x 7.5, Thompson bridge 2x2, pilut bridge 3 x2.5, ullmark 2x 2, Erod 4 x3.
Then asplund, Cozens, Borgen, Ruustolain, Smith, UPL, Pekjar. All could stepup and play with big club next year. Also sabres will lose a player to Seattle. Sabres do not need to worry about the cap.
Trading Reinhart<strong> for Dman</strong> is possible the dumbesu thing I have seen on this site.</div></div>
Be civil. Bufff appear much deeper @ FWD than D AIAEC. And ZW is not just any Dman.

I'll concede that a 2 may be ambitous. Saving 6M+ cap over 2 seasons --- IR/LTIR or otherwise --- for a serviceable D for a year doesnt appeal to yzerman? when Kronner just hung em up?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigDog91</b></div><div>Wow this is bad buffalo just got alot worse. That offense is just bad. So basically risto, reinhart and first for Poink and Werenski. You do realize we have to many dman and you just added 2 more. We dont need Werenski we have Dahlin, McCabe and pilut. We certaintly dont need Poink because we have Jokiharju and borgen. What we need is forwards and you trade one of our best.</div></div>
<strong>See your point but the cap space will mean a lot more next season when you have 10 FAS coming as well as RFAs like Montour and Dahlen over the next 24 months, at which point you will need a goalie. Q; you dont think ZW gives you offense? Bank 40 points minimum. 70 for MITTELSTADT. </strong>

Nylander for Chucky
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tkachuckyyy</b></div><div>Johnny and money were an absolute steal! and before the cap went up. players now are demanding more money than ever. I bet he lands somewhere between 7.5-8 mil. he's easily the future captain and will be the highest paid player on the team. even if they offered him your 6.8, he'd still be the highest paid player on the roster...Dubas and 31 other gm's around the league love that deal.</div></div>
Not about who makes the most; more about the range of AAV required to lock him up long term. A TSN panel was recently talking about this and the that the money 19 will want exceeds what Treiliving is agreeable to. They identified him as the one particular RFA who may be a holdout this off season.

Look at what they paid Johnny Hockey and Monahan. You think theyre making Chucky their most expensive player? I think they offer 6.8 and it becomes a holdout situation wi;h Chucky sitting. Nylander is a similarly skilled player in terms of offense at an AAV that fits CGY's budget and strusture. And yeah, TOR locking up Marner and Matthew's buddy for under 8 for 5 years? Dubas LOVES that deal.

I get that, but 6th overall and Rasmussen--a big boy with big skill -- plus all the cap you need to not be the Oilers and forget about defense becomes available. Rielly-Ellis could be pretty dynamic. How would you stack this team up against last year's Leafs? I like my chances and with 8 M in cap plus 6 more coming off when Marleau heads back to San Jose to retire, we'll have cap space to extend Rielly and a few guys comig off ELC's.

Might has make lineup with Marner signing for 5m</div></div>
Again, wasnt aware of the father's legal issue and how that would impact his decision. But a guarantee of 54 sheets to play in the top pairing on a legit contender --Leafs or otherwise-- might give him pause. Do you suggest he signs a bridge deal?

YEs, they are "iffy". That's because theyre placeholders. Hyman is out 6 months. That said, many feel Marchment has an NHL future in the near future.

With Lowry Little Perrault and Scheiffle playing centre I dont see Kadri as a fit in WPG. What they need most are inexpensive options at forward that allow them some roster flexibility.
EDIT: On second thought, that seems like a bit of an overpayment. I just don’t know who to take out</div></div>
