As Wings fan done deal , but doubtful Dubas would make this deal. Marner is a special talent and Wings have cap space to pay Marner 11 million and absorb bad contract in Zaitsev, but again this is a bad trade for Leafs.

I get that, but 6th overall and Rasmussen--a big boy with big skill -- plus all the cap you need to not be the Oilers and forget about defense becomes available. Rielly-Ellis could be pretty dynamic. How would you stack this team up against last year's Leafs? I like my chances and with 8 M in cap plus 6 more coming off when Marleau heads back to San Jose to retire, we'll have cap space to extend Rielly and a few guys comig off ELC's.
