The team is hot
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JayTea</b></div><div>Eh, they're not any better than they've been over the last 5 years. Good enough to make the playoffs, not good enough to go far once they do. They go on streaks where they look great and then struggle for extended periods of time.
Strome doesn't change that, just like anything they added in previous deadlines didn't. Hall could help, but he'd cost too much for a rental and if they sign him, he'd be yet another guy signed into his late 30s.</div></div>
I would agree that this team is not much better than previous years, but Strome is IMO an improvement from Donato who is very inconsistent. Rask is the same way, but no one is taking that contract. We cant change the past on these bad contracts, but adding scoring help, with how we are playing currently has a lot of upside.
Also this draft class is very very good, so a 12-16 pick could still be a great guy to grab

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JayTea</b></div><div>They need to keep their picks and rebuild their prospect pool. If anything, I'd try to move Donato out for a pick and give a guy like Mayhew a chance this year. They need a top 6 roster spot next year for Kaprizov, so bringing in Strome might make their choices next year even harder.</div></div>
I half agree, and half disagree. Strome is in his final year, and wild will almost certainly buy out rask. Wild could easily slide strome, or even koivu down if he doesnt retire. IMO this team can easily win now, with a litte scoring help

IMO im not ready to part with fiala, he is trending upwards. I would do donoto, EK, and a mid round pick for yamamoto, and pulujarvi

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Paul13</b></div><div>Yes it does. Unfortunately the Wilds prospect pool is pretty shallow. Most of the other prospects would probably fetch 3rd line talent at best.</div></div>
Oh I totally agree. The majority of our prospect pool are bottom 6 potential players (minus the likes of kaprisov and boldy), but Wild have made stagnant moves for the longest time and i feel a risk has to be taken at some point

He is getting a top four d in brodin, fiala younger than lehkonen. In my eyes pretty fair

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>This is as bad if not worse. Shaw is nothing. Rask probably takes a first round pick just to get rid of him. Literally add a first, and get rid of the second coming back from Ottawa, and you’re still probably short.</div></div>
shaw is not nothing, he is hurt coming off of two major injuries. still rated very highly in minnesota prospect pool, and performs well when healthy. JG is a rental on a similar contract with rask, but only difference is expiration

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>habs5232</b></div><div>I don't think that trade would happen but Ryan Sutter is on a terrible contract with 6 years left so the only way someone will take it would be if they gave up a good asset. no way any team would give up a first for Suter or else a trade would have already happened</div></div>
im not saying suter is worth a 1st, but suter is still a work horse defenseman, and solid

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Paul13</b></div><div>Well I'm not real familiar with Reinke, but it looks like he does have some offensive upside. I would say fair trade for him is Belpedio, or Sturm depends on what the other teams needs are. However if your team needs Belpedio you probably not trading Reinke.</div></div>
Reinke sits as their 4th or 5th ranked prospect currently, belpedio is a solid role guy, but not enough for a deal. I do like looking at Sturm as a piece to the trade
