Hard decision Hey voila
Sergachev at 3 x 5 is an awful deal for him. Not knowing the speculation on what he's looking for, I'd say he'd want something more like 8 x 7.

What the Habs could look like with competent management

This is coming from a guy that wants MB gone btw, just for different reasons.</div></div>
Plus we let go of Markov to save money for Radulov, and we still have the hole in our cap hit from not signing either of them.

I completely disagree - the Drouin trade is the only one I'm mildly okay with, if only because Serg hasn't hit his full potential yet either. Kotkaniemi was never good enough to go 3rd overall, losing Radulov was always dumb because they didn't want to give him term while being in a win-soon window (bc of Price and Weber), I don't think any Habs fan was okay with us trading Eller and he's only gotten better since then, and the Kassian trade was only because of a DUI which everyone forgot about 2 months after the fact.

I get that but look at the players I added - they were all mistakes that were called out as such at the time they were made. Kotkaniemi was never good enough to go 3rd overall, losing Radulov was always dumb because they didn't want to give him term while being in a win-soon window (bc of Price and Weber), the Drouin for Sergachev trade was just meh, I don't think any Habs fan was okay with us trading Eller and he's only gotten better since then, and the Kassian trade was only because of a DUI which everyone forgot about 2 months after the fact.

Habs need to tank FAST
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BorisBagel</b></div><div>they're best on 3rd line, but trading them for nothing much isn't the right move.... both are excellent on the PK and support roles/wingers</div></div>
Right but like I said, in my version of this playing out, there's no room for them in the lineup except on the fourth line where they're too good to be. Look at it rn, I don't think you can take anyone out for them.

The Jets need help on D rn, not in a few years IF those prospects pan out. Out of the likes of Heinola, Stanley and Samburg and such, I only think Heinola can be considered a very good prospect. Let's face it, the Jets are serious contenders if they improve on D and Petry is massively underrated.

Completely disagree, I like Teasdale's game a lot. Before his injury, he was going to be a middle-six player for Laval and I don't think that changes next year. Give it a couple of seasons and he'll be on the Habs fourth line, they love to cycle through AHL wingers.

It's a hypothetical situation where the picks that the Habs land for Tatar and Petry as well as their own pick is used to make a move for 1st overall or something like that. This is just how I want it to play out, not how I 100% think it would.

Watching nearly every Habs game, I'm not that high on them as most of the fanbase. I like Armia's puck protection a lot, but he doesn't offer than much offensively and as hard as Lehkonen works, I don't see the offensive upside. When you look at the rest of the top 9 in the hypothetical tank, there's no room for them anywhere other than the 4th line - I think that they'd be more valuable elsewhere.

I don't think that the Pens are that high on Joseph, and the first will be in the late 20s. Tatar is having a great year, and would fit in well with the Pens top 6. Their window is closing, they need to win in the next 2-4 years.

Fairly confident that the Jets say yes. They need help on D, especially on the right side, and they need cap space. So they clear Bryan Little's contract while adding Petry with about 40% retention, it's a no-brainer for them.

Nashville with Nylander
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Random2152</b></div><div>The kind of **** Nylander pulled? You mean asking for fair compensation? Holding out is ALOT different than refusing assignment like in Drouin's case. Look at Gaudreau, he wasn't moved for holding out.</div></div>
Gaudreau didn't leave it until the literal last 5 minutes, and he's much more important to Calgary than Nylander is to Toronto. 27 points in 54 games doesn't warrant 7 million per, no matter the circumstances. He's a pro hockey player, he shouldn't need to take a full season to find his game (he was practicing while holding out but somehow took a full season, while Weber who's a lot older was injured for nearly a full year but still managed to play well upon coming back into the lineup). As well as that, his play in the playoffs was so awful effort-wise and decision-making wise. Besides, the Leafs need defense and have players in the lineup that can replace 27 points in 54 games.

Cancers like Wheeler, Byfuglien, Little and Perreault? In my opinion, Wheeler is one of the only untouchables on Winnipeg, he's a top 10 players in the NHL IMO. Also look at this year's finalists, they're both loaded with veteran players who are winners as supposed to young players who were given a chance.

I think it's only a matter of time before Nylander is traded, GMs don't forget about the kind of **** that Nylander pulled. Take Drouin in Tampa for example, they thought that they had sorted it out but Yzerman never forgot and dealt him as soon as he got a good offer.

Getting a real young top 6
Absolutely brutal for the Canucks, Shattenkirk is a bottom-pair defenseman while Horvat is a 2C on most teams (1C on a weak team) and the 2nd doesn't make up the difference.
