Minnesota Wild signed Kirill Kaprizov (5 Years / $9,000,000 AAV)
I get he had a great season but wow... 5years and 9 Million for less than 1 PPG season? That's pretty awful IMO

DOLLA DOLLA BILL KIRILL
Guerin let him win though. It's unheard of for a player to get 9 million after only playing like 50 games. The svech deal looks like even more of a steal now.

Crazy high for a sophomore player...I don't mind, a rival overpaying a kid...lol

St. Louis Blues signed Tyler Bozak (1 Year / $2,000,000 AAV)
Good deal, Bozak is a solid bottom 6 center though he might not play much behind, Schenn, RoR, Thomas, Sundqvist, Barbashev, etc

Even if he hits all the bonuses, this is still a steal for St. Louis.

Compares very favorably to Trouba. This is an A+ contract, imo.

I understand Blues fans are hard on him but he seems like an okay bottom-six guy. the only problem is this walks him straight to FA..

Slight overpayment, but this isn't as bad as the votes show it here. Still a serviceable bottom 6 forward and there isn't much better they could've got on this contract anyways. I honestly think its fine given its only a one year deal anyways.

Great signing for the Blues. I like Barbashev a lot and it's great for them to get him on a deal just a hair above the Jost deal, and in my opinion, Barbashev is much better than Jost. Love this signing for the blues.

(VGK/NYR) - Reaves for 2022 3rd RD pick
Before the playoffs ended, Drury asked all the staff members at the Rangers to think of a player who would add physically and grit to the team next season. Little did everyone know, Drury decided to get every name in the hat.

IMO this is the steal of the year, like Toffoli last year. I was expecting a Gallagher style contract.
STL get the W, MTL get the L with Hoffman for the same caphit...

You have a lot of wingers, and Hoffman is a defensive liability. You just lost Danault, shouldn't have spent his money on Hoffman

Hoffman is a only still effective on the powerplay at this point. He shouldn't play anything above limited 4th line minutes and on the man advantage.
This signing is bad and directly the opposite of the possession strong Anderson-Tatar-Gallagher mould of winger Montreal has been successful with.

Bergy collecting locker room cancers like Thanos collecting the infinity stones. I'm sure all the MTL player's wives will love this signing.

Best comment I’ve heard on Hoffman : I have never seen a wider gap between a player's skill set and sense of positioning. Guy has no idea what he's doing unless he's on a breakaway or hitting a one-timer.
That's way too much money and term for a PP specialist

Seattle Kraken signed Jaden Schwartz (5 Years / $5,500,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gearhead</b></div><div>I'll miss Schwartzy, but there was no way the Blues were keeping him.
Seattle, you better pray that this pays off. Schwartz is a talented winger and is a marquee player, but he is a very on/off sort of guy and has some injury concerns. If you get 2019-20 Schwartz, this is a good deal. But if last year wasn't a fluke, y'all are in trouble.</div></div>
My wife is originally from STL and a big Blues fan. We were at the Blues/Wings game during the 17/18 season when he blocked that shot from Mike Green and basically exploded his ankle. The Blues were rolling in that game and up to that point in the season, but after he got hurt the wheels kinda fell off and they ended up missing the playoffs after dropping that final regular season game to the Avs.
That season was a microcosm of Schwartzy's time with STL. When he was healthy and on, he was the guy who drove the offense and helped finally get the Blues over the hump. But if he was inured or on a cold streak, the whole team seemed to suffer. It will be interesting to watch if that dynamic follows him to Seattle and who will be the play drive on offense for the Blues now. I'm betting they think Buch will fill that role in his absence.

it's not a bad deal. like he brings some good depth, and if something goes wrong he's been productive in the past.
