<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>Kakko's value is at an all time low right now, maybe with no retention on Laine that deal could be proposed.
I think if Goodrow goes, its a bit more of a cap dump than that, not just the difference of 10 spots at the draft, he like Kakko is also tanking right now production-wise</div></div>
i agree that both of these guys values are at a low, however, with laine, his is even lower in some cases. he was just healthy scratched and is signed to a horrible deal. a retention trade is possible but rangers might have to add more picks/value most likely

We get Laine, a guy who’s goal scoring is top tier except for the fact he’s on Columbus. And Johnson, a young center who can easily be top 6 by next year. We pay the firsts for the 3 years of retention and the 2nd for the goodrow dump

expectation rankings
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kravtsov_Stan</b></div><div>I like this idea but had a few places where I disagree
Ok starting with way above expectations, is Fox's start really been that far above expectations? Like he's been amazing but given what we've already seen from him is it really that surprising? Same with Shesterkin like is this really shocking? Other than that I think it looks good, I'd probably have Laf in above instead of way above just bc his production hasnt been great but I can see the arguement
Next in above expectations have we watched a different Lindgren? If anything I think he has been subtly falling bellow expectations but at the most he is probably meeting expectations right now. Miller is simmilar to Laf where I'd probably have him slightly lower but can see the argument for him being there. Other than that looks good
In meeting expectations I agree except for Chytil and Schneider. Chytil being above expectations and Schneider slightly below. Definetly room for debate but that's where id have them
Now everyone else looks good except for Kreider. I know that top line hasn't been fantastic 5v5 but Kreider still has 9 goals in 12 games. I dont care what he does 5v5 if he can score at a 60 goal pace and play well defensively? Thats fantastic I'd say he's probably above expectations at this stage</div></div>
I like your points and i can definetly agree with some of them. I believe with lindgren, he does his job to a tee and when he didn't play we looked less organized on D. Just my personal opinion

I dont care if he had a good season two years ago lol. That’s like saying Anders Lee and Jeff Skinner are top 15 goal scorers in the league because they hit 40 goals once</div></div>
huberdeau was considered top 5 winger for 5 seasons. last year was a down year. I dont think its the same boat as lee and skinner

they get a guy who is one season removed from being the best winger and getting 85 assists and 115 points for a player with great upside who hasnt worked out. we move on from kakko and get a cost efficent top line winger in his place. yes, the retention is huge. yes the picks are insane. but, the value and idea is there imo

He should have had many more points but Anderson couldn't convert on the passes. I am glad to see Laf finally finding his groove, hopefully he can maintain it for the whole season.</div></div>
im hoping that this is the year for him to breakout and then be the dominant force he can be. slaf as well. i love big guys like that who look so nimble. fun players

expectation rankings
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>Not trolling, just an honest question. How is Laf performing way above expectations when he is playing in the top 6 and only on pace for 41 points? Shouldn't the expectation be higher than 50 points in the top 6? Again, not trolling just asking.</div></div>
the points may not be perfect, however, watching him play everygame is day and night from last year. He has been the reason why panarin is on a 12 game point streak. Laf makes so many plays and sets up panarin. he may not get as many points due to being the 3rd guy or the starter of the play, but his game has been superb this year. also, thanks for being respectful with the question

completly agree with you. i believe 3rd line with about 11 mins a game and then pp2 would be great for him to start and if he performs super well, then move him up to play with mika

run it back kane
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>d4rk1ll4</b></div><div>Interesting. Some questions:
1. Where will NYR finish in the ranking?
2. What will most likely be the PP?
3. Who is likely to have a breakout year or who will surprise in terms of point production? Who is advantaged by the line combinations?
4. Who is likely to have a bad year in point production?
5. How many games each goalie is likely to play?</div></div>
1). I believe rangers finish top 10 this year in the league (2,3 in Metro)
2). I think that we can expect a lot of the same on the powerplay as last year with the exception with laf and kakko getting consistent pp icetime.
3). I feel that this is Kakko or Laf's make or break year. I believe Kakko will get close to 60 and Laf close to 50. Don't count CHytil out from 60 points either and 30 goals.
4). I believe that Trocheck will probably not replicate his year last year and be a 40-50 point player.
5).Shesty will play closer to 60-65 and quick about 20

even with a win now mentality, it does not entail that othmann is a direct need right now. cuylle is nhl ready and looked good in the games he played. him alongisde a guy like kreider and tro would greatly benefit him and we could see a goodrow esque and maybe even in the fullest potential, a wilson type player
