Offseason
Also don't like Duclair for that much money...or that much term.

My apologies, I misread that by a year.

Offseasons Largest Trade
No way that trade to the Bolts happens. Also 6 years for Duclair for half a good season is way too much.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>Oh I agree. But I feel inclined to play devils advocate for a moment.
1. Clearly you see Tierney as an odd man out down the line, so why not move him for a young piece at RD? Organizationally this is a weak spot for the Sens.
2. The team does not make basement. So can more than afford to take on another bad contract with 1 or 2 years left on it. Like Benning wouldn't be willing to move Ericsson to clear cap space and a Jet Woo to say thank you..... Jet Woo is a RD. See above.
This team is really deep up front. So yes, gotta wait. But I see this as a prime oppirtunity to shore up the organizational defensive depth while doing exactly what you are suggesting.</div></div>
Both your points are good.
#1 To Tierney, yes he's the odd man out in my mind, but he's important this season to see a year where the wheels don't fall completely off the bus while players are developing. At trade deadline or next off-season, I agree completely.
#2 Agree 100%. It'll be interesting to see how Seattle expansion shapes contracts going forward but yeah I want to see them weaponize that cap space and take some bad contracts for assets before all these young guys come off their ELCs.

2 d-men who haven't played AHL yet, I think its too early for them. Agree Brannstrom should make it out of camp, but between him and Lassi, we can't have 4/6 guys not having played (mainly) NHL minutes the year previous. Moved in two (very good) AHL lines and rushed Byfield and Stutzle in is way too young too fast IMO.
