All-In for Hall
all in would require trading your number 1 prospect in Juuso Valimaki.

well Hall is extended in this trade sooooo. Definitely accept Timmins/Newhook 1st. Im a huge Timmins guy, so glad to see him having a great year after the head injury.

What i would move for hall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ArakinSkywalker</b></div><div>I think the hart trophy in the last 2 years increases his value more than stone as well. Hall has never really been on a winning team, always kind of the best player on a bad team. It would be exciting to see what he could do on a team with a bit more depth. Burky and Donny have excelled here, so who knows what hall could do.</div></div>
I think a lot of people are down on him because his goal numbers and point total are both low this year (although first on the team in points). The Devils were playing a terrible style under Hynes and it led to them playing low event hockey. If Hall were go to a team like Colorado and get to play with mackinnon potentially, he could really pop off. Just getting him into a team with a style that fits his talents would be great too.

Is Butcher another LD possibility
Devils are very thin on the left side so im not sure a trade like this works. I think Butcher could be moved at some point, but as of right now their number 1 LHD is a righty in Severson or Vatanen or it's Andy Greene who is likely retiring at year end and is not a top 4 quality guy anymore. Mirco Mueller is playing way more games then he should because of how thing they are on the left side, so i dont see butcher going anywhere unless its for a NHL quality LHD in a trade where one team needs a puck moving D man and the return is a more defensive minded D man.

Breaking this trade down as:
timmins, jost, 1st for Hall retained
Kaut, 3rd for Vatanen retained
I think that's super fair and maybe even a bit too much, but with Byram being the original asking price from the Devils maybe Hall has much more value than stone did due to factors like it being so early in the year so more teams are believed to be in the playoff race and you get many more games to acclimate Hall. Also the report that Stone basically said Vegas or nothing makes me think his value wasnt as high as it could have been.

Rumored Hall Trade 1 year in
I think that trade is maybe as good as it will get for the Devils. Im super high on Timmins and think he is a close value to Brannstrom as a D prsopect, take a flyer on a former first rounder in bowers who hasnt shown too much yet and a 1st. Maybe the bruins can beat that deal with Urho Vaakaneinen who I am high on and fits the devils need at LHD, but any good to great D prospect is necessary for the Devils.

Hall Trade with Calgary
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheEdgiestOfNames</b></div><div>While I think you got the values right, I'm just not sure the Flames agree to deal Valimaki (whose ceiling is very high). Giordano isn't getting any younger and they need a future cornerstone on defence. How would you feel if instead of Valimaki, Calgary offered some combo of Kylington, Dube, Jankowski, and various picks?</div></div>
I picked Calgary for this trade because of how desperate they may be to win and win with this core of players. Gio and Hanifin as your 1/2 LHD for at least the next few years is very good so they may feel the pressure and move a very valuable young piece at this point. I think the Devils want a high quality prospect rather than a quantity of solid or decent prospects.

id rather pay 6 million for a backup goalie than 6.9 (nice) for a healthy scratch forward. both being bought out seems more likely.

Could this work
the devils can buy schneider out after the year for a 2 million dollar cap hit for the next 4 years if that's their main goal. not trading 2 valubale assets on good contracts along with picks.

Hall to STL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_K</b></div><div>I don't like the idea of taking from the NHL roster to add a rental - it's a little counterintuitive. And if Hall walks this trade looks really bad unless there's another banner hanging...
I'd rather try something around a prospect like Kyrou or Kostin and picks unless there is some way to guarantee a Hall extension (probably unlikely, especially when Pietrangelo is looking for that money).</div></div>
I get that for sure, but I feel like the Blues are in a spot where this could benefit them in a few ways. The team is in the middle of a run here after winning last year, so that window is open and you want to win now more than keep a young asset long term. With Tarasenko down for a long time, they may be desperate to add something significant to the top 6. Pietrangelo is due for a raise and Im not sure there is a good amount of money to pay Dunn next year, although I guess a Lebanc type situation could happen. This move also frees a lot of money for this year and next because of Allen and there will be rental goalies out there for stable backups. Along with Hall being a rental type asset that hasnt been available yet, Stone being the closest thing to it, but Hall has the MVP season and a bit more of an offensive ceiling. Also if this is a deal that gets done sooner rather than later, you would get over half a season of Hall, which is worth more than lets say 25 or so games and then playoffs.

Possible Move Second Half
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bsilk18</b></div><div>On the other half of this post I was told I’m overpaying, so honestly I’m gonna have to leave this as it is likely even.
To answer your question though, it is just the reverse of the 1-for-1, but has Jesse (who is probably worth a high 2nd to really low 1st), and two draft picks... it is a good trade for the devils who get their guy back and two decent picks as well as a good prospect (as a rental).... and if he resigns, it becomes another first rounder which makes it essentially two firsts and a good prospect to reverse the trade which is a good deal for both teams</div></div>
I dont think Jesse is worth near a 1st right now. The Devils have PK, Severson and Vatanen so i dont see the need for Larsson without any of those guys leaving in a trade or Sami getting traded as a deadline move (very possible in a we are trading Taylor Hall scenario, probably 100%). I like Larsson, but he has had a tough last year plus here with injuries and some poor play when he wasnt hurt. I would think adding him to any deal wouldnt sweeten it a ton, but would leave Edmonton with a hole since they need all the D they can get. If the Devils trade Hall its going to be for more of a sure thing than Puljujarvi and Larsson coming off a broken leg and a bad year.

realistically what is Puljujarvi's value right now? And Adam Larssons as well? I believe a significantly better piece would have to be involved in a Hall trade.

yeah possible the numbers skew higher for McAvoy and lower for Carlo. I think bridge is most likely for both, with the off chance they can get Carlo to sign for 4-6 years a low number. For McAvoy I feel like its best to get a good number for 2-3 years, try to win with this core and then be in line for a 8 year big pay day when hes 25 and the TV deal comes through.
