Draisaitl, Samurokov, Nugent-Hopkins, Yamamoto and Nurse should be fine
Oh wait also they are all half retained

It sure seems like they lack toughness up front. Simmonds would at least stand up for his teammates haha

What i would move for hall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ScottRoth</b></div><div>Breaking this trade down as:
timmins, jost, 1st for Hall retained
Kaut, 3rd for Vatanen retained
I think that's super fair and maybe even a bit too much, but with Byram being the original asking price from the Devils maybe Hall has much more value than stone did due to factors like it being so early in the year so more teams are believed to be in the playoff race and you get many more games to acclimate Hall. Also the report that Stone basically said Vegas or nothing makes me think his value wasnt as high as it could have been.</div></div>
I think the hart trophy in the last 2 years increases his value more than stone as well. Hall has never really been on a winning team, always kind of the best player on a bad team. It would be exciting to see what he could do on a team with a bit more depth. Burky and Donny have excelled here, so who knows what hall could do.

Tkachuk takes a Meier-ish deal
Not really comparable to Meier since Meier signed a 4 year deal to take him right to UFA, in this scenario Tkachuk would still be a flames RFA at the end which gives more value to the Flames and less flexibility to Tkachuk. Further, Tkachuk's raw points stats (77 points to Meier's 66) and overall game (much more of a gamebreaker with his skill plus agitation) mean he will get more on a similar deal. I don't really see Meier as a comparable, other than saying Tkachuk should get at least a million more on a 4 year deal.
I see 4 years, 7,250,000 as the low end. That would be an amazing contract imo.

NJ says thanks for the phone call, but we very much pass. We aren't bailing you out of your cap situation, AND giving up two high quality assets, AND retaining money, AND adding picks to it, as well.

Would gladly take on Perreault. He's an upgrade to like half of our team...

Nylander Offer
As a Caps fan, I have seen what Johansson can do on a really good 2nd line. On the Leafs, he just about replaces Nylander. Severson fills a bigger need for the Leafs. Then you're throwing in some stuff, too, which is nice. The only possible hangup I see here is Nylander's asking price, which I don't know.

I think Ekblad is better all around than Carlson is, but Carlson is definitely better offensively, though.
Think about it...Ekblad hasn't peaked yet, Carlson has. Imagine what Ekblad will do when he peaks! This guy will be a top 5 in the world d-man in 2 years.

Not overly physical???????????????? He was 6th in the league in hits last year, and he missed 20 games. He was 2nd among all NHL players in hits per game. If that's not physical, I don't know what is.

The only cap dump in that deal is Ladd. Johansson is good player but got injured last year and Andy Greene is there captain and one of the better dmen in NJ. Quenneville is as much a good prospect as Ho-Sang is but without the character that teams tend to get away from. Vande Sompel is decent but nothing to write home for.
I don't see NJ doing this deal either.

you've traded three first picks for neiter. njd won't pay that much plus you've added almost 10 in cap to devils which includes cap dump Ennis. jersey could just sign Carlson which you did and keep their players and picks.
