Top Six Winger Targets
There will be more to it than money, but in terms of straight up money, something to keep in mind
10x8 from Calgary (I believe they will at least offer that) equals 11.42x7 from NJ

Fiala and Holtz
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sledgie12</b></div><div>Not exact, but Devils did trade 10th Overall (Bo Horvat) for Schneider two years away from UFA. Fiala is real good, real good needs to go back to get him. I dont think the risk is worth it for the Devils all things considered but a 1 for 1 trade between these two is understandable from both sides.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Manure?
Show me one trade comp where a team gave up a top-prospect and a top-5 pick for a winger without a contract? Just one. Doesn’t have to be exact…closest one you got.
I’ll wait.</div></div>
Not sure why youre asking for a trade comp with a top prospect AND a top 5 pick. Nobody suggested a top 5 pick on top of Holtz
Reinhart is a decent comparable though. He got a top prospect in Devon Levi + a top 10 protected 1st. Fiala is a year older than Reinhart was when he was traded but he is also coming off of a 1.04P/GP year while Reinhart was scoring at a 0.74P/GP rate the year before he was traded

How Much for your Goalie
Gibson is signed for five more years, so he would relieve you of having to go through this exercise more than once and he also fits your window better. I think the asking price would be your 2022 first (fifth overall) plus a defenseman ready-to-play like Ty Smith or Reilly Walsh. But don't forget that he has a NTC. (However, that's probably reserved for Canadian teams and some no-hopers like Arizona or Buffalo.)

How Much for your Goalie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sledgie12</b></div><div>See, I don't really care about helping out another teams rebuild. Especially in the west. I want to know what this team is with an above average goalie, so I'd be comfortable paying close to the world for Hellebuyck, Knight, or Askarov. I agree Boston won't move Swayman but I'd offer sheet him next year if there is no luck on getting a good goalie this year.</div></div>
I don’t care about their rebuilds either…I care about giving up those amounts.
Goalies are unpredictable. So hard to tell year-to-year who will be good and who will not.
I’d like to see Blackwood healthy with his job on the line, and other options like Daws, Schmid and someone like Samsonov all competing for starts.
Others you could add: Binnington, Varlomov, Grubauer, Murray. Contracts are higher, but trade cost will be less coming off poor seasons. And free agents (Kuemper, Campbell, Husso, etc)

I think the best option, considering cost, among those listed would be Samsonov. Maybe Vladar if Calgary thinks Wolf is ready.
Hellebuyck, Gibson will cost an arm and a leg and I would be reluctant to offer an amount that could be the foundation for someone else’s rebuild.
Knight and Askarov probably would apply to this too. But windows match up with ours, so a little better.
DiPietro, Tarasov and Wolf are prospects and unclear if they will provide an upgrade to Daws or Schmid (or faster timeline). Although Wolf’s ceiling is pretty high.
Blomqvist likely stays put as they just dealt Clang.
Detroit doesn’t have the goalie depth to move Nedeljkovic.
Boston isn’t moving Swayman on his ELC.
And Lehner’s injury issues may not be worth it.
So that leaves Samsonov and Vladar.

Elliotte Friedman on Hellebuyck’s future (May 2nd, Kenny & Renny Show): “I’ve heard as long as the plan is to contend that Hellebuyck is ok.”
Hellebuyck hasn't gotten media hate locally, team defense in front of him has.

For Helle it would take your 2022 1st + Mercer as it would mean we are doing a rebuild, not a retool and may result in us having to move additional players that aren't up for the rebuild.
Helle has said he's good as long as the Jets continue to try to contend so the speculation about moving him should die down... probably better options here. i.e. Lehner and the knights are probably done so he'll need to be moved.

This is very minor but I reckon they'd need an official selection from Florida as retention necessitates a trade and... oh god I'm even boring myself here 🤓

Yup
I think he sees what Fleury did in Vegas also
And tries to replicate it

Matthews and Marner not to CGY
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sledgie12</b></div><div>Oh for sure. But in all honesty, the Leafs are built super weird and I think trading Marner for the right kind of return and freeing up money could do wonders. Hyman is more important to their success then Marner, they need to keep him.</div></div>
Yes. I have argued against it since he signed that contract, but after this year's collapse, it's evident this team is too top heavy for this flat cap era. If the cap continued to go up it wouldn't be a problem, but it could be 5 years now before it increases by anything substantial.

I wouldn't in real life. Like I put in the description, this is just therapy... *wipes tears*

I feel like it’s hard to sell low on a guy who just won the rocket, ya know?
Muzzin and Tuch have comparable value imo. Glass and Theodore are valuable pieces, but they just don’t add up to Matthews. Obviously Matthews won’t be traded irl, but in our ACGM fantasy land, I’d imagine you get one more big piece out of Vegas. At least a first round pick in 2022, likely more.

Hm I just think Makar is this generations Erik Karlsson and it'd need to be astronomical to get him away from Colorado they'd move mountains to keep him
Kulikov can be had for much less
Great to see offer sheet ideas in general

I like it. I think he's young enough the contract doesn't turn into an Erik Karlsson problem. You'd probably want the NJD looking a little more competitive than they are currently as Makar would definitely be someone to help put them over the top. Probably best to keep building and not cheat the process for long-term success.
