Big D and Wingers
Columbus is obviously not doing that deal. Anderson interest a dozen of teams. It’s not even remotely close. Even by adding 2 * 2nd rounder to that offer, i am not sure Columbus accept.
Colorado say no as well.
Winnipeg is not moving Ehlers so Winnipeg say no. But I consider that deal more fair compare to the previous two.

Agree. The highest piece is arguably Domi but still, Rangers 100% decline that offer.

Do there is a salary MTL can take back? Would Edmonton be willing to accept a couple of 2nd rounders + Fleury instead?

I am not trying to get rid of Poehling. I still believe he has potential. I simply think Anderson can bring an element we are missing and that kind of player he rarely giving away by the other team. Obviously if I could get Anderson by giving away my worst prospect I would do it but Columbus would not. The fact I still believe in him is the reason I assume Poehling could interest Columbus. Also this is for discussion purpose. To see if there is a match between Columbus and Montreal. Last year, we assumed Poehling would be a middle C for us and Suzuki an RW. One year later, Poehling is still valuable but not an untouchable.

Montreal Camp Experience lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaptainFlynnt</b></div><div>I like the combos (although I think Drouin and Gallagher should be a lock to play together this season) should be interesting to watch. What about Brook and Fluery? They are the most interest d prospects to watch for the habs.</div></div>
For Fleury-Brook, i agree. Unfortunately they are not signed therefore not created in cap friendly.
For Drouin-Gallagher duo, i agree. But i wanted to put Kotkaniemi with 2 of our best shooter. Also I was thinking it would be good for Kotkaniemi to start with Gallagher.
As for Suzuki, i wanted to put him with Domi, a speedster and drouin our most gifted forward.
But another possibility would be:
Suzuki-Drouin-Gallagher
Domi-Kotkaniemi-Lekhonen
Or
Tatar-Drouin-Gallagher
Domi-Kotkaniemi-Suzuki
Lekhonen-Danault-Sherbak

Why Beauviller? He is a winger, we need centreman! I know he is a quebeker but I am not sure I like the trade ! Will probably be popular with French media but I don't see the purpose of that trade :)

Way less! I don't care who Vegas pick! The habs are already one of the team that will be less affected by expansion! Anaheim and Minnesota are in big mess! Not us!

Wings trade for Price
Carey Price is Montreal Franchise goalie and Montreal is confident they can resign him. Money not gonna be an issue. Sure he may walk, sure he may not resign. But as of today, Montréal plan is to resign him. No way Montreal trade him for such a low return. Detroit needs to add way more. Way too low return and Price is way more valuable to Montreal!

Tavares trade discussion according to TSN (link included)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaptainFlynnt</b></div><div>As a habs fan, I wouldn't be interested in this. Tavares has 1 year left and could walk if the habs don't meet his contract demands, which will be a lot. Galchenyuk and Sergachev should be a big part of this team going forward and will be a lot cheaper for many more years.</div></div>
Of course this trade would only be done if it's a "trade and signed" . Yes its a lot and yes the habs management want to keep sergachev. But défense is not so bad right now and Tavares would automatically make us contender! It's a lot . In the long run we may lose the trade, but I would do the trade in a heartbeat. JT as a habs would be a dream . But I don't see it happening

Colorado will never accept this. No way Landeskog and Duchene are moving in the same trade. Mtl need to add more but what? Speculation suggest Sergachev need to be include in any deal involving Duchene and the habs! But Duchene is coming from an awful year and Sakic may not received what he ask for. Sakic will have to compromise. Duchene to MTL would certainly improve our C line.
Petry is not moving in my opinion!

Depends on whether or not he resigns. If you know he's out the door a year from now, come hell or high water, don't you try and get something for him now?</div></div>
The problem is that franchise player usually don't walk away because $$$ is not an issue and the team do everything to retain the player! In the past, the Sedins, Crosby, Ovy, Kane, Toews, Thornton, Stamkos, Malkin, etc etc did not walk away!
Maybe Tavares will and I still do think that the Isles will do everything to keep him. IMO, Duchene is most likely to be traded and the habs has something Sakic want (Sergachev). The question is , will Marc Bergevin accept? Do the price of Sergachev +++ for Duchene is too expensive?
I agree that your trade for Tavares make sense from habs standpoint! I also agree the Isles might better off by trading him. But I doubt Tavares move!

Something different?
I think giving two 2nd to get rid of one year of Plekanec is too much! In 2017-2018 the cap hit is not that much of a problem! Its in 2018-2019 we need to resign Price!
I also don't think Thornton is leaving SJ. I'm guessing it's San Jose or retirement :):)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Larkinisking</b></div><div>Duchene isn't going to Montreal without Sergachev heading to Colorado not going to happen.</div></div>
For sure that Sakic will ask for Sergachev. He has too. But no way the difference between Galchenyuk and Duchene is Sergachev.
Galchenyuk is younger, cheaper, was a top 3 pick and still got untapped potential! For some reason he need a change of scenery. But he is still a very good player. Before his injury he was rocking!
As for Duchene, I think he is a type of centreman we need plus his time is due in Colorado! His last season was awful!
Galchenyuk even got more point than Duchene in fewer games.
Duchene is great and I really want him! But his value dropped like Galchenyuk this year.
I don't mind to add another second rounder and a prospect like Sherbak if it's necessary to get the job done! Or replace 2 2nd for a first 2017
But in my books it's either Sergachev or Galchenyuk as main centrepiece but not both.
If it's both, no way Bergevin should accept! Would be a massive overpayment. No way Duchene is worth that much Galchenyuk AND Sergachev even if I love him.
But maybe you are right! Hope not but maybe you are :)
Plan B is RNH in my opinion !

Montreal Canadiens last push to the playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Habs_fan31</b></div><div>Plekanec is not a 1 line centre in this league, he belongs on the 3rd line and has been doing well with the 3rd line. King is not a 2 line winger, 3rd at most but should prob stay on the 4th. Would also like too see Ott a heathy scratch. Just my opinion!</div></div>
Galchenyuk is our best center and in order to have 2 good scoring line, I think it's best to separate Galchenyuk from Pacioretty! / Plekanec is not a first liner, I agree but none of our center are! I don't think Danault should in our first two lines. As for Dwight King, I have heard Claude Julien and I think Julien will try him on the second or third line!
