I'd pay a 5th just to make the Hayes back to the Rangers trades on here stop happening.

Perreault needs another year or 2 in college. Also laughing how he’s on the 3rd line
That goodrow trade would get Drury fired and killed

Buyout Goodrow is the best answer. Trouba likely wouldn't accept a trade (yay NTCs) but I wouldn't move him if we are losing Lindgren in a trade anyway.

Go to hell terry
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stanley_Cup_To_Manhattan</b></div><div>Feel like this season is on Adams and Granato. Didn't do enough to ice the best team and injuries didn't help. Granato just hasn't utilized this lineup or coached them well enough. MASSIVE offensive dip for all players from last year.</div></div>
I think it’s mostly on Granato
BUT
idk that him trying to get us to play more defense is a bad idea
Sure, that hurt the offense this year
But we know the offense is there
Actually, idk if the offense has even taken a big dip, or is it just that our PP has gone to $h!t this year??
All i can figure as far as “blaming Terry” goes,
is that we can *maybe* be upset that he doesn’t have Adams GMTM-ing this thing
But that’s probably as good thing,
even though we’ve mostly run out of patience with this “slower rebuild”
As frustrating as it is, it’s probably the smart way to go
A couple tweaks & continued development of all this youth and this team could get pretty good, pretty quickly
Just need to make the right tweaks imo
But I’m not a doom n gloom kinda guy
So take it for what it’s worth

They'll look to upgrade the roster with 2 or 3 UFA's who are willing to take one or two year deals at above market AAV. Like they did with Foligno and Perry last summer. Maybe take on a bad contract or two if they get a 1st or 2nd to take it. Don't see them going " big game hunting" in the UFA market before July '25 or '26.

Celebrini
Well, I like that the Hawks get Celebrini! The rest isn't so good. Hawks aren't signing Skjei, or any other UFA in this class, to a 6 year deal. Hawks won't target Skjei at all. They aren't going to block their young LD from getting NHL ice time. Not crazy about the DeBrusk signing either, but if he's willing to take a one or two year deal, so be it. Hawks keep Donato if all he's worth is a 5th. He's had a pretty solid season for the Hawks. Doubt anyone pays a 3rd for TRad, but Hawks would take that one. Hawks can't decline that Montreal trade fast enough. A one round pick swap isn't even close to take Anderson and his contract. I doubt Montreal would pay what the Hawks likely ask.

I think most everyone is going to take Coronato over Othmann. Appears to be developing better with a better season in the AHL. Not sure what reason CGY would do this as both are wingers.

Not close. Coronato has 1st line potential, Othmann is projected as a middle 6 player. Coronato's outproducing Othmann in the AHL with 12 less games played.

Perreault most likely stays in the NCAA next year... So does Fortescue...
IMO it would be much better to sign them after next year, and have them play from then on...
Next year we will have Othmann in the lineup
I hope we see Berard next year too.

The less, the better. Was trying to account for what a 4 year deal would look like with rising Cap #'s.
Had him initially at an even $5M. Went over a bit just to see what fits.
If they could get an AAV of $4.5M over 4, I think I'd be happy with that.

Lets discuss
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stanley_Cup_To_Manhattan</b></div><div>To be honest, I feel Drury set himself up for failure coming into this deadline. He has an ideology that usually never bodes well and that's building a contender at the deadline. The issue with Drury can be stemmed from trading a 1RW (Buchnevich) for an abysmal return that has paid no dividends to this team and still haunts them now. The cap space was used on a LHD (Nemeth) who nearly costed us the first-round series in 2022 against the Penguins and was dumped with TWO 2nd-round picks the following off-season. He has done a poor job managing cap space as we haven't been comfortable with the cap since 2020. He did the best thing he could do this deadline. He added two forwards that fill the holes at C/RW and a depth defenseman while managing to keep his first for this draft. The best part of this deadline was keeping that first as having talent coming in at ELC is crucial for the next few years as top players get paid and he tries to improve using free agency and trades. Not to mention adding a first-round talent to Perreault, Othmann, Cuylle, Sykora, Berard, and others is important for the next 2-3 years without having any picks in the mid rounds.
I personally think this roster rides and dies on the shoulders of Shesty, Mika, Kreider, and Panarin. The top guys need to perform or they are screwed. Carolina, Florida, and Toronto will crush them like NJ did last year if they don't play to their potential and the aging core losing another year of it's window. This team is intriguing as I feel they have the talent and coaching to make it out of the east. We'll see what they can do but there is a lot of pieces coming in next year and the year after and with cap rising and big contracts like Panarin and Trouba ($20M!) coming off the books, that's when Drury will have a real chance to fight for a cup like Vegas is doing right now.</div></div>
Very good post. You make some very valid points. It’s sooo hard to replace Panarin so the lure is there to buy. It’s very logical think we’re a couple years away
The size developing would be a wild card, like game changer. And Roslovic

(COL/BUF) - Byram for Mittelstadt
Absolute steal for Buffalo. Don't see Mittelstadt as anything more than a fringe 2C. He'll be well insulated though. I see Byram as a future top pairing defender. Guess it's up to Buffalo to see how they can develop him though, doesn't have much opportunity.
