Been interesting the last week in Quebec, especially the French media creating drama by saying Hutson might refuse to sign in Montreal. Glad that’s over, looking forward to seeing what he can do at the pro level.</div></div>
Dude the French media in Qc creating drama??? Depuis quand? Can't stand those guys

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>Don't expect him to sign until around July, it doesn't make sense for the Habs to burn a year off his ELC for 3 games. He will likely be signed shortly after the NHL calendar flips to the 2024-25 season on July 1st. He will then attend rookie camp in the summer and then the main camp in the fall</div></div>
False. NCAA players expect to have that 1st year burnt, especially highly touted prospects.
Risk of not burning off the year is that he refuses to sign and turns free agent later on. He will sign this weekend.

Not a fan of Isaac Howard. He's a small forward with lots of assists. I don't see him being top6 forward in NHL.

totally agree with Supreme Bone on this one.
He's not cost controlled, he's overpaid.
If he weren't making that much money it would have been him traded instead of Byram (except they would have traded for someone not as good as mittlestadt).
He's your #4/5 dman making 5Mil AAV for the next 4 years.

Playoffs with Celebrini
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MitchJr</b></div><div>Bedard > Celebrini and he couldn’t move the needle for Hawks.
Habs are a last place team three years running; even with your preposterous trade proposals (no team wants Gallagher or Anderson and why would Wings pay you to take their starting goalie, one year from FA) , playoffs for Habs next year is a pipe dream. Thankfully.</div></div>
Your idiocy is shining bright here. You start by saying Bedard didn't move the needle for the Hawks...except he was their best player.
Next look at how empty that team is.
Habs were last place ONCE, not three years running...
Personally I don't care about these trades but you're still an idiot.
Enjoy round 1 Mitchy

Depends on who Mtl is targeting, but I would do that.
Kotkaniemi has little value sure, but not negative. Carolina could probably get a 2nd round pick for him. Maybe Pittsburgh

Win a cup? haha, that's funny. I saw this is the 8th year in a row they've made the playoffs. Habs have won more series in a single post-season appearance.

No one, to answer your question.
I think goaltending in the league has changed drastically.
You have 5 top end goaltenders, then 5 good ones, then +/-20 goaltenders who are about the same calibre.
Then you have 1 really good young one who will never play again because of his trial, then you have 3 ****ty ones playing in Edm organization

Oh great...another Canes Habs trade where everyone is too emotional lol. Well I've ignored half the people who would comment on this so....
My only comment is I don't understand Kk. He had so many opportunities, and now he's in trouble to find a place to play.
Clearly, the Habs made a huge mistake drafting him. His skating is just not good enough. Also lacks vision.

The future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Canes wouldn't consider Harris and Winnipeg's 1st. Truthfully, Harris isn't of much interest, neither is Dvorak. The ONLY thing here interesting for Carolina is the pick. Personally, I'd still rather use Necas (whose 25, not 26) to get a major upgrade up fromt. He's had 3 different 60+ point pace seasons (this year, the 56 game season, and the 71 points he had last year) and he's doing that in a system where individual offensive talent goes to die. To put that into perspective, while not getting top line minutes because of his defensive game and playing out of position as a natural center in a system where he's forced to play a game he doesn't want to, he's STILL outproducing Caufield.</div></div>
Ok, well...still don't think he's worth 6th overall.
Personally I wouldn't even trade 6th overall for Zegras.
Consider also there's an element here that Carolina can't afford to re-sign everyone this year and next, there's pressure on them to move someone.
And of course, add the element of the sour OS business and the Canes owner taking things so personally, I don't think Habs are the team the Canes need to be dancing with in this situation

The future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ujeje</b></div><div>Canes would need something to help them win now in return, not something that may help in 3-5 years (late first). And I don't think they like Harris that much. If it's just picks/prospects, then it should be big overpay, so they can flip the return.
And while stats may not seem to be shiny, his NHL ppg is 0,68, with 16.37 TOI and 2.07 TOIPP. Canes are defense first team, and every forward is required to do their duty, not steal for offense. Even their superstar Aho has been having hard time to break ppg line.
But you either have to include player like Newhook with WPG 1st & Harris (don't know if that'd be enough), or make your 6th ovr pick the mainpiece of the trade.
This is just coming from a simple Flyers fan, not on favoring either team.</div></div>
Ok, but in that case forget it. Mtl wouldn't give Newhook + + for a guy who is basically 3 years ahead of him.
Canes aren't going to get such a big return for Necas. Definitely not 3 pieces. I'd be surprised if they got 2.

They already have enough bottom pairing d-men and one of the deepest right sides in the nhl.
They need young forwards. And if they end up with a top ten pick they either make the pick or trade it quality for quality. Not quality (a top ten pick) for quantity ( lower picks and bottom of the lineup players)</div></div>
Ya but their bottom pairing dmen all suck.
Deepest right side? cap-wise yes but talent wise, both Letang and Karlsson are nightmares defensively right now

I would argue if Barron were traded to Pitts today he would be their #5 dman. So...Pens absolutely have a need for him imo
