One more off season rebuilding
Think the Canucks would rather use a pick to get rid of Mikheyev/add Kovacevic, but I’d probably still do that deal

Swap Mailloux for Kapanen, this is way too much for a 55 point middle 6 winger

Don't see Montreal offering Mailloux. My guess is he goes to Nashville

trade for 6th and RFAS
Montreal easily declines the NJ trade and McLeod’s likely not playing in the NHL next year with the trial pending. Arizona declines and we might get something for Ylonen but I believe Cederqvist is going to Europe, Norlinder and Andersson will either be AHL depth or unqualified

I am not a fan of Dlo and his contract at all but you really think the Flyers would give up a 2nd to take on a player making 5.5m for 3 more years who put up just 9 goals and a 3rd pair dman?

Sabres fans what do you want for Kulich
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dcochy</b></div><div>I mean he turns as quickly as the titanic</div></div>
What are you talking about??? Mailloux isn't slow at all. He's great in transition and has amazing handles. The big concern with Mailloux was always his decision making in his own zone. Even in the OHL, he would make dumb turnovers and be caught out of position, and that's literally what he fixed this past season in Laval. He started the season pretty much exactly like he was in junior (poo poo gabage in his own zone, chasing big hits and being caught out of position), and by the end of the season he was playing on the #1 PK unit, and played crucial minutes at the end of games when Laval were holding a 1 goal lead... It was very much the focus of the Habs development team (Rob Ramage, Francis Bouillon, etc.) when it came to working with Mailloux.
So, he's quite the opposite of turning "as quickly as the titanic" lol And Habs fans would know what that looks like, we have to watch David Savard every game.

Yeah, I think it would be a mistake for Buffalo to deal him unless they can get someone who can do the same on the right side. Ultimately, it's not a big deal if one of Dahlin, Power, or Byram plays the right side.

Buffalo is better off eating another year or 2 of skinner. Right now it'd cost that 1st with nothing coming back the other way.

Tavares
Don't think UTAH gives Crouse for that package, or that Buffalo will be able to trade Skinner. Considering that Skinner could produce similar or more than Crouse, keeping him for now might not be such a bad idea. As much as the cap space would be great, signing FAs is usually expensive, and not every player is available to every team. So, if Samuelsson is available I think the Leafs would want him back in a trade for Tavares and that they would retain up to 4M to get the deal done. I don't think Buffalo trades Samuelsson though, unless they are signing Pesce or M Roy, Tanev would be great but he only gots maybe 1 or 2 good years left in him, making him a poor replacement for Samuelsson who you have for 6-years. If they sign Pesce for like 7M (not sure if he can be had for less), they won't be able to give Joshua that deal but that might not be a bad thing.

Are both Dahlin and Power as good playing their off (right) side as they are the left side of the ice? With the Byram acquisition it looks like one or two of them will likely play their off-side indefinitely. Just curious.</div></div>
Dahlin especially is. Both can do it but dahlin is better on his off side than on his left side. Helps his shooting lanes too. His goal totals have really jumped since playing more on the right

That is one awful trade for Arizona. Why does anything think 7.2m X 4 years of 80 points Keller is worth so little? I'm doubting Marner waives anyway

I think the Leafs make that trade. You have shown the cap works. I guess the stumbling block will be finding a taker for M NTC Mikheyev.

Ya I definitely agree with the reinbacher, Hutson, mailloux Laval statement but I feel like one year of Barron isn’t going to increase his value that much so habs maybe wanna make room for a crowded blue line early. Savard is another guy that I’d trade for instead of Barron with that exact same leaf’s package ^

As good as Draisaitl is, he is not worth 3 1sts, 2 top prospects and a RFA top 6 winger. Especially if Edmonton is also dumping Campbell.

Marners a great player, but he would need an extension to be worth anything to a non playoff team. Marner for San Jose without an extension is legit 0 value.

Lambos isn’t what he used to be projected to be in junior
Gustavsson is just a stopgap for Wallsteadt at this point but you already have Fleury & Ohgren will likely never be Mitch Marner let alone better than him

Yea as a Habs fan, I would hate this deal.
However, Anaheim and Chi are 2 teams who I think would consider trading down to #5 with Montreal. THey can use Dmen and they both know Mtl needs Omen
