I actually don't hate this deal for the Canucks because I like Barron and I think the Canucks need depth on the right side moving forward but asking to take on Anderson's contract even at a discount with no real money going the other way won't work. That 3 mil is going to be spent likely on keeping guys like Joshua.

San Jose might be willing to spend a late second on Jordan Harris but not one of the two seconds that they have now. The rest of that package is flotsam and jetsam so even with Harris, that offer doesn't get anywhere close to 14th overall.

The other two teams decline as well.
