Agreed that the cap is supposed to go up #3mill. I also think you would have to give up more for Carter, even with Brown coming back.

The Vegas deal is interesting and probably fair value. I agree that is an overpayment for Muzzin.

You are going to have to pay more for Faulk.
Think 1st+Kapanen+Carrick or even more. He is a 1st pairing D and won't come cheap.

Wow, Montour is a prospect like Kapanen. He has a total of 27NHL games under his belt and isnt to be considered a stud...yet. I could see Toronto adding a 1st but Anaheim is overvaluing Montour bigtime.

Not too bad at all. I think that Miller's cap hit helps them now, although he is a RFA next year.
Well thought out. Nice to see realistic deals :)

I disagree, You are not getting Parayko for that. Kane, while a good player has off ice issues, Baily isnt even close to proven.
Think Nylander, 1st and a B level prospect. Parayko is a beast.
The Drouin deal also needs some more love. Quanity for Quality is not what Tampa wants.

Fix Expansion Problem
This actually isnt too bad. I Don't know if Edm would want to give up Poolparty just yet but it makes sense for both teams. The Habs trade is also pretty good but maybe drop that 2nd to a 3rd for value. Not bad at all.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>No thanks. That price is way too high.</div></div>
Mtl 1st rounder wont be that high and it is a weak draft so there is that.
Beaulieu is gone...mark my words, he will be gone by tomorrow.
Sergachev is what they want. I don't want to move him either from a Habs standpoint but you have to give to get.
Colorado is in no hurry to move Duchene but GMMB is in dire need up an upgrade in the middle.
By the time Sergachev becomes and NHL top 4 guy the window for MTL will be closing or closed already.
How do Avs fans feel about retention. And perhaps a person who has more "capology" experience could pipe in on how Duchene can fit.
Does www.capfriendly.com have a deadline calculator that I am missing??

I am ok with that but the issue is the cap space. I know that the Avs don't want to retain but they might have to in order to fit.

Ya, I think that the Oilers would want Sergachev, 1st and maybe Scherbak as a return. RNH doesn't do it for me honestly. I would rather have Landeskog.

Duclair I could see but the other deals are skewed towards MTL bigtime.
RNH would cost Sergachev+
We would never get Theodore for that and I doubt Anaheim wants to move him at all. It would be nice to see Shea pass to Shea though :)

I dont think so. I think they need to get a 2nd line C and maybe a 2nd line LW. I am not convinced that Paul Byron and Lehkonen are going to show up in the playoffs.

If you read the description then you would realize that DD is a cap dump. He is UFA at the end of the season. I would take out Fucale and Juulsen and put Sergachev and a 1st in if that is what it would take.

TDL Deal
I think the Sedins would fit great in the 2nd line slot with Gallagher and they are still serviceable players and fit the teams needs with one trade.
The Dallas move is if they are out. They are hanging on to a wild card slot. Low risk because Sharp isnt having a great year and is a UFA after this season, Dallas gets a pretty good young prospect back and a lower pick.
Spitball moves, unfortunately the Habs don't have ton of assets or capspace to make a huge move to put them over the top. They would have to somehow move DD(which would take an incentive(ie. 2nd rounder).

thoughts?...
Agreed the Habs would have to give more and from WPG perspective they have no real incentive to do the deal. They like Morrisey and I doubt they want to move him.
Iggy would be interesting and the value seems about right.
For the DD trade Arizona has to get a pick or prospect back for taking his cap hit for the rest of this season. Think a 2nd rounder or so if the Habs need the cap space.
I think GM MB will make some moves, he has a history of that.

Would Seabrook fit in Toronto?
Possibly still low value but the issue with Seabrook is that he has 7 more years on his deal with a pretty big caphit. Matthews, Marner and Nylander(last year of ELC) will want bigtime raises and the Leafs will have to find the cap.
I like Seabrook and I think he would bring stability to the Leafs D but Chicago would probably want Nylander back and I don't think the Leafs could do that now.
The Hammond deal is interesting and I could see the Leafs making another move for a backup.

Kadri
Oh boy where do I start....ok....No way in hell do the Leafs trade a potential lottery pick AND Kadri for Bennet and a 2nd....ever. Your value is way way off.
I would say Kadri for Bennet straight across and I am NOT a Leafs fan at all.
The Leafs wont trade Kadri because he is a pest and is shutting down top players(McJesus) and Bennet doesn't fill their need at all.
Any trade between Calgary and the Leafs would be JVR+(?) for one of your RHD(Hamilton is who they would target).

Duchene for Marner
I am by no means a Leafs fan but this is never going to happen for them now.
They are rebuilding and don't need Duchene to put them over the top. Take out the 2nd and the value is pretty close but no way the Leafs do this.
