<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Booyah</b></div><div>Definitely gets some unneeded players out the door. Why no Tanev or Edler deals?</div></div>
I honestly prefer for them to stay on the team, they can be the mentor for Hughes and Woo and others. Tanev is a rare shutdown RHD in the league nowadays, can play top minutes, and is very underrated. I think he will play much better when this team is done rebuilding. As for Edler, he can still produce, and is a vital part of our PK (so is Tanev). Edler can stay on top pair so as not to let Hughes overplay with a potential risk of getting injured

Toronto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>You're clearly not watching games. Murphy has been pretty clearly a shut down guy for the Hawks. I'm not an advocate whatsoever to give him up. From the last 100 games he's played versus the last 30 games he's played, it's night and day difference in his ability. And yes, +/- is an important stat as it relates to defenders with more focus on the minus side. He's a solid 2nd liner for all but the best defensive teams in the league, and guess what, TOR is hardly one of those top defensive teams. They could use him in spades especially on the right side hands down. Now whether you think the trade is fair is a different story but to say Murphy isn't that good is simply ignorance.</div></div>
I mean, you have a Hawks profile pic, so i clearly trust that you know what you are saying.

Cost of Hughes 1OA Would you do it avsvan
I wouldnt do it based on the fact that Horvat is a future captain, and with DiPietro being in the NHL in about 3 years, our Demko-DiPietro duo would be one of the best in the league. Giving up 2 1st isnt ideal. Jack Hughes is great, but IMO, hes not a generational player like McDavid or Crosby. He is goddamn good tho, but i wouldnt give up a captain material, a top notch goaltender prospect, and 2 first rounders which we could end up drafting some great players

Depth trades - Trades with WSH NJD VAN PHI
These are some nice, unique, almost accurate trades which is rare to see on CapFriendly. As a Canucks fan, id do that trade because we're getting a decent RHD and a 2nd rounder. It sucks to lose Tanev because i want to see him be more defensively when he plays with Hughes, so Hughes can show off his offensive abilities but i think it'll work without Tanev as well. That Janmark trade was spot on IMO

Getting Rezsdy for Next Season
TOR doesnt need another LHD. Johnsson can be productive with certain players, hes still growing so Babcock isnt giving up on him yet. Even tho COL is desperate for productive wingers, they are not giving up a 2nd rounder for two 3rd line wingers and a 3rd pairing dman

Cogliano-Sherwood-Gibbons/Aberg
(Eaves prob aint gonna play for the rest of season)
Fowler-Manson

How to add more offense for Bo
That Hall trade is interesting, it actually got me thinking quite a bit. I hate losing one of our top goaltending prospects, and a 1st rounder, but at the same time, its for a MVP and a very productive player. On the other hand, we dont need the Bouwmeester and Eberle signings. Canucks are rebuilding rn, no need to sign top free agent prospects. Eberle is 28, by the time Canucks are ready to contend, he will probably be 31ish, past his prime. We have a lot of prospects in the system fighting for a roster spot, so lets make room for them. You resigned Hutton...what happened to him? Hes regained his confidence this yr and Travis Green likes his game. Hes getting smarter, and having some looks on the 2nd PP unit. We dont need an old, slow Bouwmeester. I hope Tryamkin signs with us, but at this point, I doubt it

Could we end up with a trade deadline like this
The BOS and CAR trade is questionable. I dont think the FLA trade is reasonable. I hate to say it, but I think Gudbranson is staying in VAN for a few more years. He can be a good shutdown dman at times, and hes already surpassed his points this season compared to the last 2 seasons. He can be a solid bottom pairing RHD with Hutton. Id give Goldobin max 2 yrs with this team. Even if we do trade him, id like to see a pick come in return. Your idea of that trade isnt wrong, but we have an abundant of young forwards battling for a spot. We dont need a bad contract and an overrated player on the team. That'll throw the kids morals out the window. Id say yes to the BOS trade, but I dont think BOS will do it, since Lauzon is still young and can progress.

You have made some pretty accurate moves. Id like Tanev to go east, and also id like to see more in return. C.Tanev is underrated and is a solid player. Id say a 2nd + prospect is the ceiling

Small Trade with Edmonton
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BlueSeeker</b></div><div>DiPietro is playing in the OHL not in Utica. Bachman injured his Achilles and is done for the season. Rathbone and Utunen are not getting signed this season and Juolevi is done for the season(had surgery). The Canucks could use the depth if Edler and Del Zotto get traded or if more injuries occur. Cap space is not an issue this season and it is no where close to being an issue for next season. The only thing the Canucks lose in this trade is a guy that we are paying to play for another AHL team.</div></div>
I am aware of all the players status. Im saying that DiPietro and Bachman will man the pipes in a few years for Utica. Canucks are very likely going to re-sign Edler, and with Hughes coming up next season, the top 2 LHD is set. Hutton will 90% man the left side of the 3rd pair, leaving no room for free agent defenceman signings

I dont think Canucks want Manning. Hes 28, and we're going for the youth movement rn. Addtionally with the logjam at LHD (Hughes, Juolevi, Edler, Rathbone, Utunen), Manning wouldnt make the roster. BOS would say no the trade. Theyre in no reason to make a goaltending move, and they dont need another big useless contract in Lucic (They already have Backes). I dont think TOR will accept that trade even tho they are getting back a decent RHD in return.

Some trades are questionable, and some trades id love but the other team would hate. Im not too much into retaining salaries off a long, big contract like Eriksson's but if its to get back a decent young LHD, its worth thinking about.

Hmmmmm, original idea, but I dont think Canucks would do that. We have DiPietro and Bachman to man UTI net when DiPietro is eligible and Bachman isnt injured anymore. Canucks have a lot of dman, especially left handed ones: Hughes, Edler (for now), Hutton, Juolevi, Rathbone, Utunen, so I dont think we need Manning and his cap problems (even tho its not much).
